The Killers Perfectly Synced Up The End Of England’s Win Over The Netherlands With The Start Of ‘Mr. Brightside’ In London

England are heading to the final of the European Championship. Thanks to a converted penalty by Harry Kane and a late goal by Ollie Watkins, the Three Lions were able to beat The Netherlands in Dortmund, 2-1, to secure a spot in Sunday’s final against Spain. It marks the second Euros in a row where the men’s side have made it to the final — back in 2021, England lost in penalties to Italy.

This team, however, looks like it has learned from all the times it has come up short under its current manager, Gareth Southgate, and while Spain has been arguably the best team at the tournament, there’s optimism throughout England that this time will be different. And on Wednesday in London, The Killers decided to get in on the fun, as they had a show in London at the O2 that started during the game. And right before they started to play perhaps their most popular song, they decided to throw the end of the game on the screen, which led to the wonderful moment where this happened:

In general, the U.K. absolutely loves “Mr. Brightside,” so kudos to The Killers for what will probably go down as an all-time unforgettable moment for everyone who went to the show. Unfortunately, it does not appear that they really leaned into the bit and sang “Football’s Coming Home,” but maybe they can learn that between Wednesday night and before the final kicks off on Sunday … as long as Drake does not bet on England, of course.

Even Siri Has Apparently Taken Sides In The Drake-Kendrick Lamar Beef, Refusing To Play Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’

The American public is more invested in the ongoing Drake-Kendrick Lamar beef than the upcoming presidential election. Unlike the upcoming presidential election, however, the Drake-Kendrick beef has a clear winner. Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” ostensibly ended it, but the “Not Like Us” victory lap is relentless.

Now, even Siri has chosen a side — emphasizing the certified loser of this rap rapture.

HipHopDX’s Jeremy Hecht recorded himself asking Siri to play Drake’s Certified Lover Boy on Spotify, and instead, Kendrick Lamar whispers, “Psst, I see dead people,” which is the intro to “Not Like Us.”

As is my journalistic duty, I also asked Siri to play Certified Lover Boy, Drake’s September 2021 album, on Spotify, and Siri played “Not Like Us.” However, the second time I tried it, Siri did play Certified Lover Boy, so it would appear that Siri’s pettiness is limited to one attempt — or Spotify corrected the glitch. Hilarious, nonetheless.

Last week, Lamar released the star-studded, jam-packed video for his No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit. Among the many people making a cameo was former Toronto Raptor and Drake confidante DeMar DeRozan, who later clarified his loyalties.

“I mean, love Drake, love Drake, you always could play him,” DeRozan told Fox 40’s Sean Cunningham in response to whether Drake songs can be played during his games with the Sacramento Kings, his new team. “Kendrick’s been a friend of mine — family, damn near family for a long time, for a while. We from the same city, grew up damn near in the same neighborhood. So, it’s always been there. It hasn’t always been publicized, but that’s basically family.”

Chris Brown & His Father Look Adorable In Rare Photo And Fans Can’t Get Enough

It’s been a busy few months for Chris Brown, but evidently, that hasn’t stopped the hitmaker from spending some much-needed quality time with his family. Earlier this week, Breezy’s mother Joyce Hawkins took to Instagram to share an adorable shot of him alongside his biological father, Clinton Brown. The duo looked happy as can be, both rocking coordinating rocking blue looks while Chris leaned his head on his father’s shoulder. “THIS MAKES ME SMILE!! LOVE TO SEE YALL TOGETHER!!” Hawkins captioned her post.

Of course, social media users have plenty to say about the sweet photo and are sounding off in The Shade Room‘s comments section. “That’s his inner child smiling that hard!” one Instagram user says. “He just turned to a little boy with that smile with his dad,” someone else writes alongside a series of heart emojis. “I love it.”

Chris Brown’s Mother Shares Sweet Photo Of Him & His Dad

Countless others are here for how happy he looks to spend time with his dad, and noting how much they look alike. Reportedly, the R&B icon’s mother and father divorced when he was seven years old after having two children, him and his older sister Tootie. He previously worked as a correctional officer, and later at the Virginia gas station where Brown was discovered by a local production team at the age of 13. Breezy has clearly come a long way since then, all without forgetting those who have been by his side all along.

These days, for example, he’s making his way across North America on his “11:11” tour with Muni Long and Maeta. He kicked things off last month with a sold-out show in Detroit and has already made plenty of headlines for explosive performances, viral meet and greets, and more. What do you think of Chris Brown’s mother sharing a sweet photo of him and his father? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Busta Rhymes Essential Songs

Busta Rhymes is a hip-hop legend whose rapid-fire delivery of lyrics, tricky rhyming patterns, and dynamic stage presence have positioned him as one of the greatest emcees of all time. In the early 1990s, he gained popularity as part of the group Leaders of the New School. He later forged a successful solo career with hits like “Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check” and “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See.” His stardom first reached new heights after he appeared on A Tribe Called Quest’s posse cut “Scenario,” stealing the show with his high-energy verse littered with references from popular culture.

Innovative and influential, Busta has consistently been ahead of his time while remaining true to himself. He has never shied away from taking risks artistically or sonically, evidenced by his unpredictable flow patterns and genre-bending collaborations. From winning awards to influencing today’s artists, Bussa Buss is an artist unlike any other.

1. “Woo-Hah!! Got You All In Check” (1996)

“Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check” is Busta Rhymes’s breakout solo single from his debut album The Coming, released in 1996. This track catapulted Busta into the limelight, establishing his energetic and animated style that would become his trademark. The song was an instant hit, echoing with both hip-hop fans and mainstream audiences. Its success was marked by its peak position at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance.

The “Woo-Hah” music video further solidified Busta’s reputation for creativity and innovation. The video featuring surreal and vibrant visuals matched the song’s eccentric energy and showcased Busta’s charismatic presence. Moreover, the success of this single laid the foundation for his solo career. “Woo-Hah!! Got You All in Check” remains a defining moment in Busta Rhymes’s journey, emphasizing his ability to create memorable and impactful music.

2. “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See”

“Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See” is a song from Busta Rhymes’s 1997 second album, When Disaster Strikes. The track displayed a smoother and more controlled flow than any other song by Busta Rhymes but still kept up with his usual intensity. The production of this record, a simple bass line together with a catchy beat, made it possible for people to recognize what he was talking about through skillful wordplay. It became successful commercially, reaching No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart while also being nominated for a Grammy Award under the Best Rap Solo Performance category.

Further, the music video for “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See” could easily be said to be one of the most remembered videos in Busta Rhymes’s career as an artist. It had lively and surreal visuals, directed by Hype Williams, inspired by the film Coming to America. This single alone also solidified him not only as one of the best rappers alive today.

3. “Gimme Some More” (1998)

Released in 1998, “Gimme Some More” is the lead single from Busta Rhymes’ third studio album, E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event): The Final World Front. The track perfectly showcases Busta’s quick delivery and exceptional storytelling abilities. Built around a sample of Bernard Herrmann’s “Psycho” theme, the song’s high-energy tempo and eerie backdrop create an intense listening experience. The track quickly became a fan favorite, reaching No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart. It also earned critical acclaim for its innovative production and Busta’s relentless flow.

Additionally, The music video for “Gimme Some More” is just as dynamic and unforgettable as the song itself. Directed by Hype Williams once again, the video features surreal and exaggerated visuals that match Busta’s larger-than-life persona. The video’s cartoonish style highlights Busta’s creativity and willingness to push the boundaries of conventional hip-hop aesthetics. “Gimme Some More” remains one of Busta Rhymes’ most iconic songs, exemplifying his ability to blend humor, intensity, and technical skill into a cohesive and captivating work.

4. “Break Ya Neck” (2001)

“Break Ya Neck,” a single from Busta Rhymes’s fifth studio album Genesis, is a high-energy song that highlights his ability to rap faster than many of his peers while still being able to breathe. Produced by Dr. Dre and Scott Storch, the track has an accelerated beat that perfectly suits Busta’s fast-paced delivery. The song was commercially successful, peaking at No. 10 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and becoming one of his most popular tracks.

The “Break Ya Neck” music video intensifies this energy even more as it shows different locations where Busta delivers his verses in dynamic and visually appealing ways. The fast cuts and sequences full of energy presented in the clip reflect the unstoppable tempo of the track itself, making it a great visual experience. “Break Ya Neck” remains one of fans’ most beloved songs, besides being frequently performed live by Busta Rhymes, who always provides evidence for his incredible skills, thus gaining recognition as one of the best rappers, technically speaking, within hip hop history.

5. “Touch It” (2006)

The song “Touch It” was released in 2006 as the first single from Busta Rhymes’s seventh studio album, The Big Bang. This club anthem continued to put Busta on the map of mainstream hip-hop. Further, “Touch It” samples Daft Punk’s “Technologic,” and this is what makes it catchy, futuristic even, as a background for Busta’s commanding voice. In no time did “Touch It” become a commercial success by reaching No. 16 on Billboard Hot 100 and dominating dance floors all over America, too.

This much-loved track has many remixes, with Mary J. Blige adding her touch. Missy Elliot raps along with Lloyd Banks, among others featured on these versions. Each one gives it its unique style or panache but still keeps it relevant, thus showing how much Busta liked working together with other artists.

Plies Slams Mainstream Media For Trump’s Eerie Connection To Epstein

Screen Shot 2024 07 10 at 4.03.53 PM

Finally, someone is pointing out the elephant in the room when it comes to the prospect of reelecting the 34-time convicted felon, Donald Trump. Plies recently went in on mainstream media on “X” (formerly Twitter) for seemingly downplaying former President Trump’s weird connections to the late Jeffrey Epstein, a controversial billionaire accused of serious crimes who later committed suicide while in federal custody. Okay …

The “Bust it Baby” rapper believes that media coverage of the 2024 presidential election, particularly regarding current President Joe Biden, is intentionally skewed. Like skewed to focus on Biden’s age rather than Trump’s unfitness for office again while being clearly connected to Epstein. What the actual “F.” He has a point, right?

“So Trump in the Epstein files is why mainstream media don’t wanna let go of the Biden story!” Plies wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, July 9. “The longer they keep that front & center in the news, the more they can stay away from the Trump/Epstein story, hoping to bury it!”

Screen Shot 2024 07 10 at 3.35.27 PM

Get this on July 10, Plies shared what he feels is evidence of Trump and Epstein’s acquaintance, posting a clip from a documentary that highlighted their relationship.

What’s downright disgusting is this alleged connection is particularly controversial given Epstein’s accusations of sexually abusing over 36 women, some as young as 14. Epstein was arrested for sex trafficking in July 2019 and reportedly committed suicide in his jail cell a month later. Full stop. This is wild and now that we think about it, why isn’t the mainstream media really focusing on this?

“Wait, so it’s a whole documentary about Trump & Epstein?” Plies questioned. “What was Trump calling Epstein for at 3 a.m.? Man, mainstream media has failed the American people badly! This is extremely embarrassing.”

Keeping that same energy, earlier this year, Plies criticized Trump for some ridiculous claim 45 made that Black people supported him because they could relate to being discriminated against. Some of those who agree with Trump need to hear this through a megaphone. Plies intelligently called out these supporters for ignoring Trump’s casual racism.

“I’m not even gonna lie, I’m starting to like the casual racism he gives you,” Plies posted on Instagram. “Keep treating them like ‘Tim Scott,’ Trump! They’ll jump even higher for you!”

He didn’t stop there, in another video, Plies shared footage of Trump referring to his Black voters as “Black ones” and made a bold prediction: “Before the election, he gonna flat out call them a ‘n***a’… I guarantee it, and his numbers gonna go through the roof! This is why he’s loved by his base. ‘Cause he says the quiet part out loud! Keep proving who America really is!”

With all these talking heads supposedly of the culture backing Trump, it seems Plies will keep up common sense talking points to expose what he feels is a man who should be no where near the oval office ever again. Golf clap.

Sexyy Red Claps Back At Lord Jamar For Insulting Her Appearance

Lord Jamar has problems with lots of different artists. The legendary rapper has become better known for his critiques than his music, and his recent The Art of Dialogue interview supported this. Jamar went after Sexyy, insulting the way she looked and smelt. The rapper claimed that Sexyy Red looked “icky and hot.” He described her as the kind of woman who smells “like a room full of sex,” and urged men to “do better.” Needless to say, Sexyy Red did not let these criticisms slide.

Sexyy Red reposted the Lord Jamar interview on Instagram with the text “ask @chieffkeeffsossa do I stink.” Sexyy and Chief Keef have been linked for the better part of a year. That said, both artists have maintained that they are friends. The former called Chief Keef her “brother” after posting flirtatious photos with him on Instagram. That hasn’t stopped the romance rumors from swirling, however. The rapper placed Chief Keef’s chain in her panties during an IG post in June. She also claimed that her baby daddy went through her text messages with Keef shortly after she gave birth.

Sexyy’s response to Lord Jamar suggests that something sexual went down between her and Chief Keef. Either way, the rapper has grown accustomed to hate from other artists. Sexyy Red actually talked about hate during a new episode of HBO’s The Shop. While the episode premieres July 11, a teaser clip saw Sexyy Red talking about the way that hatred motivates her.

“They still don’t believe in me, so I’m just gonna show you who I am,” she told Andre 3000. “Ain’t nobody doing this.” The Outkast rapper urged Sexyy Red to keep doing what she was doing, and ignore what her critics have to say. “Use it for fuel,” he posited. “Hater fuel, man, it’s the best sh*t.”

Azealia Banks Attends Donald Trump Rally In Miami Amid Eviction Rumors

As of late, fans have seen plenty of their favorite celebrities popping out for various summer festivities, Azealia Banks included. Instead of a music festival or Independence Day party, however, the “212” rapper recently decided to attend one of Donald Trump’s rallies in Miami. In a clip that surfaced online earlier today, she sported a bright red dress as she supported the former president, who’s seeking reelection this fall.

A fan captured a clip alongside her as Trump discussed subjects like “World War III,” inflation, and more. She appeared to be in good spirits, later reposting another shot of herself at the event on her Instagram Story. Trump’s official Instagram page even shared some photos from the rally yesterday, where she can just barely be made out.

Azealia Banks Continues To Support Donald Trump

While some are surprised to see her unabashedly riding for the now-convicted felon, others argue that it’s perfectly on brand, and note that this is far from the first time she’s shown him support. Last November, for example, she chatted with The Standard about this year’s election. At the time, she revealed that she planned to vote for Trump, citing his resiliency and sense of humor as deciding factors. “He’s just f*cking funny,” she explained to the outlet. “He’s been through how many bankruptcies? How many wives? How many television shows? Seriously, nothing can take him down.”

Banks previously supported Ron DeSantis, but eventually changed her mind due to his “attacks on drag culture [and] his quarrel with Disney,” according to Evgeny Lebedev. What do you think of Azealia Banks being spotted at a Donald Trump rally in Miami? Are you shocked or not? What about her continuing to support him despite his recent conviction? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Even Eminem Has The ‘Hawk Tuah’ Girl On His Radar, As He Referenced To Promote His Upcoming Album

eminem death of slim shady
Twitter

You know a meme has reached peak saturation when even the notoriously techno-phobic Eminem is referencing it to promote his new albums. The “Hawk Tuah” girl, Hailey Welch, has been all over the place since her memorable street interview went viral on TikTok (including concerts with Zach Bryan and Shaquille O’Neal), and now, her catchphrase is part of the rollout for Eminem’s new album, The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).

Em quoted the spitting onomatopoeia in the caption of a video featuring the grave of “beloved antagonist” Slim Shady (who apparently died at the ripe old age of 27). A passerby spits on the tombstone, which bears a familiar quote from the chorus of “Without Me,” then walks away… missing a hand bursting up out of the ground, suggesting that rumors of Mr. Shady’s demise might have been greatly exaggerated.

Em’s spent much of the rollout for the album poking fun at his alter ego, from making him the anachronistic butt of the joke in his “Houdini” video to putting him to the chainsaw in the video for “Tobey” to zipping him into a body bag on the album’s cover. Whether all this means Eminem’s truly retiring the rap persona — or just trolling all of his haters yet again — remains to be seen.

The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) is due 7/12 via Shady Records/Aftermath/Interscope. You can find more info here.
