DC Young Fly Pays Tribute To Jacky Oh One Year After Her Passing

It’s already been a year since Jacky Oh passed away due to cosmetic surgery complications at 33 years old, and her partner DC Young Fly came through on Friday (May 31), the day of the anniversary, with an Instagram tribute. “#ThisS**tForEver,” the post’s caption began, which features a picture of the couple. “1 year already [sad face emoji] s**t feel like yesterday!!! Being frustrated aint gon work cause its gon make yu more frustrated… yu just gotta keep GOD first and jus stay positive and not lose focus… cause this s**t will have u all over the place… #NotAPostImTrynaGetUseTo … jus wanna kiss yo dam faceee i love u mama [two brown heart emojis].”

Of course, this has hung high over DC Young Fly’s head ever since Jacky Oh passed, and he always takes the time out to remember and honor her. For example, he came through with a brief but sweet message for her on Mother’s Day earlier this year, which falls tragically close to the anniversary of her death. “Happy Mothers Day baby !!!” the Wild N’ Out alum shared in an Instagram post. “Miss u like krazy !! Jus wanna talk hold ya kiss ya love ya let u kno im here…”

DC Young Fly Reflects On Jacky Oh’s Passing On Its One-Year Anniversary

Elsewhere, DC Young Fly has also spoken on how he feels this loss is a constant presence in his life. “I’m constantly reminded, like, they made it,” he said on Cam Newton’s Funky Friday podcast about women surviving the cosmetic enhancements whose procedure took Jacky. “Here go another big booty. She made it. See what I’m saying? I get why women want to enhance themselves. I get it, but fellas, we have to do more than just continuously telling our women that they are beautiful. You have to continuously tell them that they’re enough. Don’t make your woman feel like she has to do something. Even if you f***ing with a b***h… with another chick. No, no, no, no, no, you just love a woman. That’s it. And women, listen to your man.”

Meanwhile, DC Young Fly is also finding other ways to pay tribute to Jacky Oh. Last year, he got a tattoo in her memory. Hopefully the comedian continues to champion his late partner and always keeps her spirit alive throughout his life and career. Fortunately, fans are right there to support him and share his process, a companionship that has a much deeper impact than one would think.

Plies Breaks His Silence On Donald Trump’s Conviction

Plies is one of Donald Trump’s most outspoken celebrity haters, so it’s no surprise he had some harsh words for the former president’s conviction in his hush money case. “Dear Black Folks:” the rapper’s message began on Twitter, which he then reposted on Instagram. “If U Want Lawmakers To Change The Law About Convicted Felons Being Able To Run For President. I’m About To Tell Everyone How To Fix It! All African Americans Convicted Felons Let’s Start Signing Up For Elections & Running! An Watch How Fast They Change That Law!” “It’s Not Hard To Fix!!!! [shrug emoji] #Plies,” the IG caption read.

Furthermore, Plies is far from the first person in the rap world to react to Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in one of a couple of his blockbuster court cases. For example, Ice-T also had some scathing shots for both No. 45 and his angry supporters, taking to Twitter to troll them a little bit. However, even those who make fun of Trump seem skeptical concerning his chances of actually doing jail time. After all, if the one thing he wasn’t able to sidestep was over hush money, that wouldn’t really make much sense.

Plies Reacts To Trump’s Guilty Verdict

Regardless, others like 50 Cent gleefully mocked the former president over this, whether for giggles or with an actual policy disagreement. It’s been very interesting to see how hip-hop received, treated, and evolved the image of Donald Trump in the culture, whether on wax or publicly. Things used to be way less serious about this before he became president, and some artists shifted their content to blast or endorse him. But if there’s anyone who’s been on the opposing side for the long run, it’s Plies.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump also has his fair share of endorsements and support within the rap game, such as a recent co-sign from New York drill exponents Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G. We’ll see how this continues to evolve as we get closer to the election. It already caused a lot of controversy and conversation, but that’s an expected consequence of political discourse. Maybe this conviction changes things for some people…

MO3’s Estate Keeps His “Legend” Alive On Third Posthumous Album

Melodic Dallas, Texas rapper MO3 was able to effortlessly mix street anthems with a smooth voice to give fans a one-of-a-kind listening experience. However, his life was sadly cut short almost four years ago, after being gunned down in broad daylight. Since his death on November 11, MO3’s estate has made it their mission to give his die-hard supporters a full look behind the curtain as to what he was working on. Today is another one of those days, as the latest MO3 project to land on streaming is now Legend.

This title obviously is looking to show why the multi-hyphenate was so gifted. So, throughout this tightly packed, 14-song project, you are getting a lot of rapping/singing cuts. Perhaps another reason why this tape is out now is because it would have been MO3’s birthday yesterday (May 31), which is when Legend was released. Overall, these songs clearly show that he had plenty of fire tracks waiting to hit platforms.

Lil Baby Teases Sexyy Red Collab On The Way

Lil Baby has some more heat on the way in 2024, it seems, and it’s with none other than one of the biggest artists of the past few years. Moreover, he recently took to social media to tease his verse on a new Sexyy Red collab, a link-up that has a lot of potential to impress. They previously collaborated on “Lick Me,” one of the raunchier cuts (and that’s saying something) off of Sexyy’s recent project, In Sexyy We Trust. In addition, this also builds up some more anticipation for whatever the Atlanta rapper is dropping next, as it’s been a while since his last solo studio album.

Furthermore, Lil Baby might have a lot of “mid” claims running around right now, but there’s definitely still plenty of gas in the tank for doubters to hop on board. So far in 2024, he’s built his name off of some notable collabs, including the aforementioned Sexyy Red team-up and the Central Cee-assisted “BAND4BAND.” That cut saw Baby tap into the drill scene with a bit more aggression, something that we might see a little more of in the near future. Either way, we just want some hard bars and flows, and we know that he’s got the capacity to deliver.

Lil Baby Teases Sexyy Red Collab

Apart from that Lil Baby collab, Sexyy Red also has a big year to look forward to, with plenty of hot releases and performances under her belt already in 2024. In Sexyy We Trust was a hit for many fans, and it’s clear that this focus on her image and brand will yield dividends in the long run. It’s a very different approach to that of other artists, as the St. Louis MC always stays in her lane. Rather than come off as one-note or gimmicky, it feels much more authentic and raw that one might expect on first listen.

Meanwhile, with a WWE NXT appearance to boot, there’s no telling where Sexyy Red will go next. As for Lil Baby, he’s got a chance to really make a strong comeback and disprove some narratives about him. Whether or not he follows up on that in 2024 or a little later remains a mystery. But one thing’s for sure: they might strike gold with this upcoming collab.

Justin Bieber Gave Odell Beckham Jr. Oral Sex At Diddy Party, Jaguar Wright & Tokyo Toni Allege In Wild Clip

Jaguar Wright is certainly no stranger to making shocking claims on the internet. In the past, she’s shared wild accusations against the likes of Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Beyonce, and many more. For this reason, it was unsurprising when she was spotted alongside Tokyo Toni earlier this week. The Finding Love ASAP! star has also become known for her internet antics.

In a new clip, Tokyo is seen singing along to some music, when Wright interrupts to bring up Justin Bieber. “Can we talk about why Justin Bieber’s running around breaking up relationships?” she asked, prompting a quick response from Blac Chyna’s mother. “Cuz he was sucking that d*ck on them knees,” she alleged. Wright agreed, similarly accusing him of performing oral sex on Odell Beckham Jr. “He must have sucked the sh*t out of Odell’s d*ck,” she alleged. “They’ve got that boy on the clock.”

Jaguar Wright & Tokyo Toni Share Their Shocking Theory

Of course, the two women are referring to a clip of Justin Bieber and Odell Beckham Jr. at one of Diddy’s parties, which made its rounds online a few years back. Many speculated that the two of them were hooking up at the event, which is completely unconfirmed. Some have even theorized that it was somehow related to Beckham Jr.’s recent split from Kim Kardashian.

Obviously, most aren’t buying the duo’s recent accusations, though they’re far from the only shocking ones social media users have heard from them in recent months. While some find their antics entertaining, others think they should just leave Bieber and Beckham Jr. alone, and stop speaking on other people’s business. What do you think of Jaguar Wright linking up with Tokyo Toni? What about the wild accusations they made against Odell Beckham Jr. and Justin Bieber? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Dave East Reunites With Close Pals Mike & Keys For Personal LP “APT 6E”

“[Mike & Keys are] 100 percent my sound… They are like, one of the few producers in the game that really just got my sound down pat without really trying”. That is what gritty Harlem, New York rapper told XXL a little over two years ago about how much he adores the Los Angeles based producing duo. The soon-to-be 36-year-old veteran explained that he met the hitmakers through the late Nipsey Hussle and since then, they have grown their chemistry in the studio.

Their first album together, HDIGH (How Did I Get Here), while not released as a Dave/Mike & Keys project, was the one that got it started. Now, they are back once again with APT 6E, an official collaboration album. This record holds a special place in Dave’s heart, as the title is a reference to the apartment where his career really started to take shape. “I think that’s really where life changed for me. That’s where I got my first deal out of that apartment. Nas signed me, I caught the train to Mass Appeal downtown, then I caught the train back to Queens and walked back to my apartment with the deal in my hand”.

Listen To APT 6E By Dave East & Mike & Keys

There a handful of cuts on this 15-song offering that allude to the grind that Dave was on to make it big. One of them is “DOIN GREAT” (one of our favorites), and it sees him talk about always keeping your head high and making small steps toward your goals is in fact great progress. Those “steps” include removing people from your life who are not on the same mission as you and protecting your energy. However, we can fit all of the things we love about this album in one article, so be sure to check out and see what we mean.

What are your thoughts on APT 6E by Dave East and Mike & Keys? What is the best beat here and why? Who had the strongest guest verse? What song did Dave bring his best stuff? Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Dave East and Mike & Keys. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Rihanna Celebrates New Record-Breaking Diamond Certifications For “Umbrella” & More

Rihanna was a record-breaker and history-maker long before today, but her latest piece of proof in that lineage is a pretty special one. Moreover, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) bestowed four new Diamond plaques on her songs with over ten million units sold. These are for “Umbrella” featuring Jay-Z, “Work” featuring Drake, “Needed Me,” and “Stay” with Mikky Ekko, as they announced as of Friday (May 31) on their website. “Diamonds” had gone Diamond back in April, and with these new 2024 certifications plus the Eminem-assisted “Love The Way You Lie” and the Calvin Harris collab “We Found Love,” RiRi is now the female artist with the most Diamond singles in history.

“ain’t no back n forth,” Rihanna tweeted with a graphic from Roc Nation congratulating her on this massive achievement. Surely she will have some other ways to celebrate this milestone, such as maybe another date night with A$AP Rocky or just some family time with their kids. Either way, the Barbadian superstar has had a killer 2024 so far even without the release of her long-awaited ninth studio album… so far. Maybe hope is just naiveté at this point, but it’s the only thing keeping us going.

Rihanna Reacts To Her New Diamond Plaques

Furthermore, there have been recent teases that the project will come out soon, but with no real confirmation or hard evidence, we can only wait and be patient. However, this new RIAA record does speak to just how much longevity and staying power Rihanna was able to infuse into these particular hits. It’s not an uncommon trait in the catalog, but for these massive songs in particular, it feels like they went Diamond in our hearts long ago. We’ll see what the record looks like by the time she’s officially bowed out, and how it continues to evolve as her career etches itself into the history books.

Meanwhile, there are obviously some pregnancy rumors to either dispel or leave simmering on low for now, as has been usual for Rihanna in the past few years. If nothing else, people are just excited to hear anything they can get from the pop icon right now. With no album in sight but a wholesome family dynamic and business operation to enjoy, we’ll take what we can get. And throughout it all, we’ll still be bumping these hits.

Today In Hip Hop History: Ja Rule’s ‘Venni Vetti Vecci’ LP Turns 25 Years Old!

jarule

On this day in Hip Hop history, Queens rapper Ja Rule released his debut LP Venni Vetti Vicci. As the first release ofrom Irv Gotti‘s Murder Inc. record label, this project carried a lot of weight on its shoulders as the breakthrough for not only Ja Rule’s career but the career and integrity of Murder Inc Records as a whole.

Fortunately enough, the album was a hit and launched Ja Rule and Murder Inc. up among the ranks of some of New York’s most respected and successful rappers. Ja Rule’s force, style, and energy blended perfectly with and help grow the popularity of the East Coast hardcore movement that was taking place in the late 90s and early 2000s.

The mix of high energy, club jam production and hardcore gangster lyricism is what made this album so appealing. Although it could be said that Ja Rule wasn’t the greatest with the pen, the party appeal of this project kept it flying off the shelves in record stores across the country. The album’s commercial reception was more than any one could ask for a debut album peaking at #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop chart and #3 on the Billboard 200 chart all while going platinum in the year of its release.
