Travis Kelce Booed During Mavericks-Timberwolves While Patrick Mahomes Gets Standing Ovation

Sunday night, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-107 to take a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals, and they did it with a couple of NFL stars sitting courtside. Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce both sat courtside during last night’s Western Conference matchup. The Chiefs duo, who have won three Super Bowls in the previous five years, appeared to be enjoying themselves immensely as they watched Kyrie Irving and Luka Dončić show out in crunch time once again for the Mavs. Meanwhile, as Kelce and Mahomes appeared on the Jumbotron, fans at America Airlines Arena enjoyed themselves immensely by booing Taylor Swift’s boyfriend. 

As the spotlight turned to Travis and his teammate Patrick Mahomes, who was seated courtside, the crowd’s reaction was a mix of applause and jeers. Travis, seemingly taken aback but still sporting a grin, was the unexpected focus of attention. When his QB was revealed, the audience reacted much more warmly. There was a lot of applause, and Mahomes got up to hype the crowd. He was surrounded by admirers, and his wife Brittany was by his side. Overall, the crowd did not feel Kelce at all, but they were happy to see the best quarterback in football.

Travis Kelce Booed And Patrick Mahomes Cheered At Mavs Game

Before the game, the Mavs apparently made fun of Kelce on Twitter by saying, “Our guy Pat and @taylorswift13’s boyfriend in the house!” Who knows why the Dallas audience was more welcoming to Pat than to Travis Kelce, but it could have something to do with Mahomes’ being a Texas Boy. The quarterback stood out at Texas Tech. Mahomes has also been a frequent guest at Mavs games and recently picked them to make it to the NBA finals. He is clearly a Mavericks fan. As for Kelce, the hate probably comes from his elevated celebrity status due to his involvement with Taylor Swift.

Also seated with Travis and Pat Mahomes was their new teammate, Hollywood Brown. Brown is the latest target for the superstar quarterback, and he got some bonding time with his team’s two leaders. The Mavs are up 3-0 on the Timberwolves. Patrick Mahomes will more than likely be present in Dallas for Game 4. Overall, we can understand if Travis Kelce doesn’t show up again.

Jack Harlow Is “Trying To Focus On The Positive” After Having To Cancel Gazebo Festival Over Tornado Warnings

Jack Harlow has had to cancel the final day of his inaugural Gazebo Festival after severe weather hit the Louisville, Kentucky area on Sunday. Organizers confirmed that tornado warnings were enough to bring an early close to the festival. Harlow reacted to the news on his Instagram Story afterward.

“Well. We have to cancel day 2 of @gazebo. We are currently on a tornado watch. I know things cleared up a little bit but the bad weather has damaged the site and there are more storms and dangerous winds on the way. This means everyone on day 2 including myself won’t be performing anymore,” he wrote. “I’m trying to focus on the positive because all I felt was happiness yesterday. I’m grateful for our flawless first day and for the way this city came together. Thank you so much. I’m sorry.”

Jack Harlow Attends His Gazebo Festival

In a statement from the organizers of the festival, they wrote: “The safety of our patrons, artists and staff is paramount. Due to continuing hazardous conditions throughout the early afternoon and a second wave of weather expected this evening, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the remainder of Gazebo Festival.” Attendees who bought tickets for Sunday will be receiving a full refund while other fans who grabbed passes for the entire weekend will be getting 50 percent back. In addition to Harlow, the final day was going to include performances from PinkPantheress, Omar Apollo, and Slum Village, among others. SZA, Vince Staples, James Blake, and more artists already made appearances at the event.

Moreover, some new clips emerged from the fun performance, including some new twerking skills that are a far cry from the intimacy and subtlety of other of her concerts. That’s not a knock against the Atlanta native, though, as it was nonetheless a vibrant and impressive showing. She even brought out 4batz as a special guest, and it was heartening to see him gift her a Louis Vuitton bag onstage and, most importantly, thank her for the opportunity.

Furthermore, there were plenty of reasons as to why this TwoGether Land Festival set was a pretty satisfying and notable one. However, elsewhere in the headlines, Summer Walker discussion tends to center more around her personal life, such as her relationship with Lil Meech which he recently explained the dissolution of. “It was just, we just grew apart,” he told The OG Talk podcast. “I still got love for Summer, you know? It’s a remixed, updated version of his 2020 album 3.15.20 containing new features, instrumentals, and structures, and it’s definitely one of the most interesting listens of 2024 so far considering that evolution. Hopefully there are more great features and solo songs on the way this year, although the quality of these festival performances certainly keeps the hunger at bay.

Meanwhile, as Summer Walker is moving onto a very talked-about new relationship, we hope that there are also great developments in her personal life. Even with all the pressures of being a famous singer, there are a lot of ways in which support and care tower above all. Vince Staples Pays Homage To New Orleans Hip-Hop Culture On “Étouffée”

Vince Staples made sure he went out with a bang before departing from Def Jam Recordings. The now developed Long Beach, California multi-hyphenate has come a long way since joining the label nearly 11 years ago. For him, Dark Times is essentially a culmination of all of the skills that he has now harnessed and honed in. It is a mixture of great storytelling, rapping, thematic execution, and production choices.

One track that sees Vince Staples deliver on all those fronts is “Étouffée.” On this cut, the veteran uses this time to reflect on how far he has come from the Dark Times he went through growing up. Instead of getting really grim, Staples keeps it all the way 100 with the fans and people he proved wrong throughout his career. It is a fairly celebratory moment on the record and is a bit of a full circle moment.

Stephen A. Smith Fires Back At Jaylen Brown After Being Called Out For Slanderous Source

On First Take on Friday, Stephen A. Smith revealed some derogatory remarks on Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown that he had heard from an “NBA source.” The segment has caused quite a stir on social media, becoming a huge talking point over the weekend. Smith, Kendrick Perkins, and Jay Williams debated on Friday whether Brown was the NBA’s most underappreciated player. He mentioned in closing remarks that he had received a text from an NBA source. According to the unnamed insider, Brown isn’t underappreciated—rather, “he’s just not liked.”

“I wanted to read to y’all what an NBA source just sent me,” Smith said. “He said, ‘Jaylen Brown, it’s not so much that he’s underrated, it’s that he’s just not liked because of his I-am-better-than-you attitude. He knows it. It’s the same reason he is not as marketable as he should be.’ That’s what an NBA source just sent me.” Smith continued by noting that while he personally liked Brown, he did question whether the source’s claims were accurate. The remarks started a beef with NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas, who called what Stephen A. did slander. Brown eventually responded on Twitter, quoting a video of the remarks with “State your source.” Now, Stephen A. has responded.

Stephen A. Smith Claps Back At Jaylen Brown

Stephen A. Smith must have noticed Brown’s tweet since he went back to X to reiterate his position. “First off, that’s not happening. It’s journalism. Not revealing sources,” wrote the Smith. “Secondly, if you continue to watch the segment, I completely disagreed with them — as did Kendrick Perkins. The point we were actually discussing is how under appreciated you are and why that may be, which is why I read the quote. I even brought up how socially conscious you are, and how that may not be liked, knowing you’re a good brother. Also, that you’re a $300M man and you deserve it. But that doesn’t mean naysayers don’t get heard. That comes with the territory.”

In response to the original video, Kendrick Perkins expressed his frustration as well, stating that it omits their uplifting discussion about Brown’s off-court activities. Ultimately, Stephen A. is sure to address this drama in today’s edition of First Take. The anonymous source being able to just trash players with no consequences is nothing new. It was wild that Stephen A. even brought that quote up because it was so disparaging. Overall, the saga may continue this week.

Nicki Minaj was not happy with DJ Boof after he shared a picture of himself signing a woman’s chest on his Instagram Story over the weekend. “I’m really famous [cry laughing emoji] They asked me to sign their boobs,” Boof captioned the post. Minaj took to X (formerly Twitter) to scold him for doing so and threaten to fire him if he acts out again. “I promise I’ll fire him if I EVAHHHHH see this again. Df [Da f**k],” she wrote.

When one fan responded that he’s “over here trynna ride the sign my titties wave like,” Minaj joked, “Like??!! It’s clear to SEE boof wanna be ME.” Fans shared plenty of laughs while coming to his defense in the replies. “Let him have his moment,” one user wrote with a number of laughing emojis. Another added: “he can sign mine next concert i go to no shade.”

The humorous posts come after Minaj dealt with some serious legal trouble in Amsterdam over the weekend as well. While she was trying to travel to Manchester for a show on Saturday night, authorities detained her and accused her of carrying drugs. She recorded the ordeal on Instagram Live while claiming it was an ambush afterward. “They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show,” she wrote on X afterward. “They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting on customs. This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour after all else failed. Hip-Hop Legend Rakim Reveals Long-Awaited Return with New Album ‘God’s Network: Reb7th’

Hip-Hop icon Rakim, often hailed as your ‘favorite MC’s favorite MC’ is set to make a return to the music scene this summer with a new album. Titled God’s Network: Reb7th, the project marks Rakim’s first solo release since his 2009 album The Seventh Seal. According to Kurupt, who features alongside Rakim and Masta Killa on the upcoming track “Rebirth (N.M.A),” the album is slated for release on July 26, while the single will drop on June 21.

Rakim, whose influential career began in the 1980s and 90s alongside DJ Eric B., is revered for his lyrical prowess and groundbreaking contributions to Hip-Hop. The duo’s debut album, Paid In Full, released in 1987, included iconic tracks such as “Eric B. Is President” and the title track “Paid In Full,” both of which have since become Hip-Hop classics. They followed up with three more acclaimed albums: Follow the Leader (1988), Let the Rhythm Hit ‘Em (1990), and Don’t Sweat the Technique (1992).

Matthew “M80” Markoff, the executive producer of Rakim’s forthcoming project, shared insights with AllHipHop, emphasizing the significance of the album’s title and its reflection of Rakim’s enduring influence in the music industry.

Rakim recently addressed his potential induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a topic of much discussion among fans and industry insiders. Expressing his appreciation, he said, “Maybe it’ll happen this time. I feel great about it. Let me tell you, anytime anybody nominates you or thinks about you, you should feel great. I think it’s a long time coming. We’re all righteous guys and girls, so it’s on God’s time, not our time. I’d be just as appreciative if I won it the first time, so it’s great.”

When asked about the Rock Hall’s efforts to include Hip-Hop, Rakim responded with respect for their process: “Everybody can poke holes at somebody else’s operation, and I would never do that. They have their own process. I would never throw rocks at the Hall. This is their institution, they built it, so they do it their way and I respect the process.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony continues to embrace modern technology and streaming platforms. The 2024 ceremony will be broadcast live on Disney+, with a special airing on ABC at a later date, and available on Hulu the next day. This follows the success of the 2023 ceremony, which was streamed live on Disney+ for the first time, reaching more than 13 million viewers across linear and streaming platforms. ABC’s New Year’s Day telecast was particularly notable, becoming the No. 1 entertainment choice among Adults 18-49.

Rakim’s return is eagerly anticipated by fans and music lovers alike, promising a blend of classic Hip-Hop essence and fresh, innovative sounds.
