Veteran actor Carl Weathers has died at the age of 76. “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers. He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life. Who Was Carl Weathers?

Before Carl Weathers was an actor that defined the 1980s and beyond, he was a college football player. Weathers played two years under the legendary Don Coryell at San Diego State but went undrafted in 1970. New Trailer ‘The Space Race’: The Stories of Black Astronauts for Nat Geo Doc

spacerace

The trailer just premiered for The Space Race, a new documentary based on the history of Black astronauts. From director Diego Hurtado de Mendoza and Lisa Cortés with writing from Mark Monroe, the documentary includes notable trailblazers such as Guion Bluford, Charles Bolden, Ed Dwight, Victor Glover, Frederick Gregory, Bernard Harris, Leland Melvin, Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez and Jessica Watkins. The Space Race will released on National Geographic on Feb. 12 and then can be streamed on both Disney+ and Hulu on Feb. 13.

The documentary’s slew of producers includes Alexandra Bowen, Aly Parker, Mark Monroe, Keero Birla, Lisa Cortés, and Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, includes executive producers Frank Marshall, Tony Rosenthal, Carolyn Bernstein, and Leland Melvin.

The official synopsis reads:

The Space Race weaves together the stories of Black astronauts seeking to break the bonds of social injustice to reach for the stars, including Guion Bluford, Ed Dwight and Charles Bolden among many others. In THE SPACE RACE, directors Lisa Cortés and Diego Hurtado de Mendoza profile the pioneering Black pilots, scientists, and engineers who joined NASA to serve their country in space, even as their country failed to achieve equality for them back on Earth. From 1963, when the assassination of JFK thwarted Captain Ed Dwight’s quest to reach the moon, to 2020, when the echoes of the civil unrest sparked by the killing of George Floyd reached the International Space Station, the story of African Americans at NASA is a tale of world events colliding with the aspirations of uncommon men. The bright dreams of Afrofuturism become reality in The Space Race, turning science fiction into science fact, and forever redefining what “the right stuff” looks like, giving us new heroes to celebrate, and a fresh history to explore.

Kanye West Confronts IG User For Posting His Leaked Music On Spotify

As Kanye West fans anxiously await the release of his new album Vultures with Ty Dolla Sign, the Chicago MC has been on something of a DM spree. Earlier this week, he laid into one of his alleged former employees for reposting a photo that made fun of his new YZY PODs, accusing her of accepting money from Adidas. He made it clear that he’d stop at nothing to defend his creative endeavors, noting how much work he’s put into the project.

The alleged former employee isn’t the only person who saw Ye’s wrath this week, however. Recently, he also sent a direct message to an Instagram account responsible for posting his leaked music on streaming services. He called them out for using his work for streams, demanding that they use the platform for their own work instead of his.

Kanye West Claims IG User “Violated The Music Industry”

“You Violated the Music Industry,” his message begins. “You and these other n***as posting sh*t from me just to get streams on spotify. That is my work. You have a Platform so use it for your own projects.” Obviously, Ye doesn’t appreciate his unreleased music being used to get someone else streams, and fans can’t blame him. Luckily, it won’t be too much longer until fans get a genuine Ye release, if all goes according to plan.

Vultures is expected to drop in three volumes, and the first of which is scheduled to arrive on February 9. A source recently chatted with HipHopDX about the release, revealing that volume one will feature 13 songs. Major names like Future, Playboi Carti, Chris Brown, Freddie Gibbs, and Quavo will make appearances, as well as Ye’s 10-year-old daughter North West. What do you think of Kanye West calling out an account posting his leaked music on Spotify? Do you agree with him? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

6ix9ine Discusses Upcoming Collab With NBA Youngboy Over Facetime In New Video

Two of the most divisive artists in hip hop could be crossing paths soon. NBA Youngboy has been releasing music at an incredibly prolific pace in recent years. A big reason for that is the fact that he’s stuck under house arrest in Nevada. But that hasn’t stopped him from collaborating with some major names like Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and The Kid LAROI. Now, 6ix9ine could be the newest rapper to join that list of collaborators.

6ix9ine is dealing with quite the predicament at the moment. He’s stuck in the Dominican Republic following a pair of arrests. The first came last year after an alleged assault happened in a recording studio. Video of the rapper’s fans mobbing both his arrest and release from jail made the rounds online. He was arrested again last month, this time for an alleged assault against the mother of his partner. He’s denied all the charges and was recently granted bond ahead of his trial. It’s currently unclear how long he might have to remain in the Dominican Republic. But while there he may be cooking up something new with NBA Youngboy.

6ix9ine And NBA Youngboy Discuss New Song

In a new clip making the rounds online, 6ix9ine is driving while also having a FaceTime discussion with Youngboy. It’s unclear when specifically the video was taken but in it they discuss the potential for a collaboration. 6ix9ine spends much of the second half of the video repeatedly describing himself as a “stand-up” guy seemingly to justify part of the collaboration.

Last month, 6ix9ine released his new mini-album BLACKBALLED. The project featured just 9 tracks and spans 20 minutes. It closes with “SHAKA LAKA” his controversial collaboration with Kodak Black. Other rappers online criticized Black for making the song when it first dropped last year including Boosie Badazz. What do you think of 6ix9ine and NBA Youngboy discussing an upcoming collaboration? Are you excited to hear the song when it does drop? Let us know in the comment section below.

Joel Embiid Injury Has LeBron James Fuming About The Rest Rule And Media Accountability

LeBron has lashed out at media members advocating for the NBA rest rule after it was revealed that Joel Embiid had suffered a torn meniscus. “Where are all the media outlets, tv media personalities, hot takes that talked so much 💩 about Joel Embiid about missing those games when he knew what he was dealing with. Now he’s out with an injury because of it. Not 1 person has went back on tv or their dumbass podcast and apologized to that MAN!! No accountability 🗑🗑🗑,” LeBron wrote in a series of posts on X.

Embiid, the MVP frontrunner, is out indefinitely with a torn meniscus in his left knee. Given the razor-thin margin he was already working with the NBA rest rule, this will likely end the Sixer’s chance to repeat as MVP. Furthermore, LeBron’s comments come just a day after Stephen A. Smith essentially told players to suck it up when it comes to the Rest Rule.

LeBron James Won’t Be Traded

Meanwhile, there has been a lot of news about LeBron to end the week. The biggest story came from his agent on Friday, with Rich Paul putting any trade rumors to bed. “LeBron won’t be traded, and we aren’t asking to be,” Paul said in response to growing speculation that LeBron might be leaving the Lakers midseason. Of course, LeBron hasn’t helped quiet the rumors. Following a loss to the Lakers earlier this week, LeBron posted an hourglass emoji to social media.

However, Paul’s comments about his biggest client haven’t stopped people from making their trade pitches regardless. Stephen A. Smith has caused a stir after using a segment on First Take to pitch a deadline trade between his Knicks and the Lakers to acquire LeBron James. Smith’s pitch is more based on the vibes of “LeBron at MSG” rather than how LeBron would actually make the Knicks a better team. Smith’s Knicks are currently in the East and are riding a six-game winstreak. However, they recently lost the team’s second scorer, Julius Randle, until at least after the All-Star Game.
