Naomi Osaka’s New Project With LeBron James Is An Explicit Phrase In Swahili

As of right now, Naomi Osaka is the biggest name when it comes to the tennis world, however, she always seems to be at the center of some sort of controversy. From not wanting to talk to the press to various injuries that have kept her out of competition, Osaka has been going through it.

Recently, however, it seemed as though things were going well for the young star as she announced a brand new media venture with LeBron James called “Hana Kuma.” This new venture will help bring new stories to the forefront, and based on the posts below, LeBron and Osaka seemed thrilled about the opportunity.

Soon after announcing the name of this venture, Osaka found herself in hot water with Swahili speakers. This is a language spoken by 200 million people, and as it turns out, Hana Kuma means “woman with no vagina” in Swahili. In Osaka’s native Japanese, the phrase means “Flower Bear,” and it’s clear that the name was quite personal to her.

Despite this, Osaka was still subjected to jokes and ridicule over the name. There were plenty of memes to go around, and one person even said “Woke up to HanaKuma trending, only to realize it is a media station started by tennis star Naomi Osaka. And it is Kenyans who have taken it their global responsibility to spread the world and loudly wonder about it.”

For now, there are no plans to change the name, however, if the backlash and memes continue, she might have no choice.

Chris Brown’s “Breezy” Album Receives Immense Praise From Twitter Critics

Chris Brown is considered one of the most talented artists in the world. This is because he can sing at a high level and he is also an incredible dancer. These traits have drawn comparisons to the likes of Michael Jackson, although CB has never been able to achieve that level of megastardom.

Regardless, Brown is still an artist that fans are constantly paying attention to, and on Friday, he dropped a brand-new 24-track album called Breezy. This is a project that is filled with features, including verses from Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, Tory Lanez, Jack Harlow, and many more.

When albums from big artists come out, they usually trend on Twitter, and that was certainly the case with Chris Brown’s latest effort. Last week, Drake’s album was welcomed with slander and vitriol. This week, Brown received nothing but praise for his body of work.

As you can see in the tweets below, fans are already comparing this to Drake, saying that CB easily came through with the better album. One fan wrote “Chris Brown went stupid on this Breezy album. No skips. Every fucking song is insane and we still have 9 more songs to get from the deluxe. Legend.” Another fan echoed those sentiments, claiming that CB now has the best album of the year.

With nine more tracks on the way in the form of a deluxe, there is no doubt that fans are in for a treat. Having said that, stay tuned to HNHH as we will continue to bring you new music from the hip-hop and r&b worlds.

Madonna Locks Lips With Tokischa During NYC Pride Week Performance, Brings Out Saucy Santana

Madonna kicked off NYC Pride weekend with a performance at the World of Women’s NFT.NYC event at Terminal 5 on Thursday (June 23). The iconic pop star wowed the crowd with racy displays and several special guests.

One of the many memorable moments from her performance was when she shared the stage with Tokischa. Tokischa is a 26-year-old bi-sexual rapper from the Dominican Republic who shared in an interview with Rolling Stone that she advocates for sexual freedom and queer desire. During their performance, the two artists danced closer and closer together before sharing a heated moment that led to them kissing. Of course, many recalled Madonna’s infamous kiss with Britney Spears at the 2003 VMAs.

Madonna also invited Saucy Santana to the stage as the two performed a mash-up of Madonna’s “Material Girl” and Saucy’s 2021 remix of the track. Saucy pulled up in a hot pink body suit and the two rocked the stage with flair while exchanging verses.

Saucy is an openly gay rapper and he shared his support for the community in an interview with Office Magazine. “Now I don’t mind someone calling me a gay rapper or an LGBT rapper because that is my community. That is my culture. And that is who I’m fighting for,” Saucy said.

Madonna wrapped up her performance by inviting all her special guests back on stage for a performance of the track “Celebration” from her 2009 greatest hits compilation.

Roe V. Wade Overturned: Politicians, Musicians, & Actors React

The United States Supreme Court has effectively un-made history by reversing the nearly 50-year precedent of Roe V. Wade today. In a 6-3 decision by the court, the long-held decision was overturned, and thus, the decision on the legality of abortions has been reverted to state governments. Therefore, abortion rights may be protected in progressive states like California, whereas abortion rights may be stripped away entirely in conservative states like Texas and Georgia.

“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” Justice Samuel Alito wrote following the ruling, “The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any Constitutional provision … It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”

This Supreme Court decision is almost guaranteed to be the biggest and most important political news today, and in the short time since the dgecision was revealed, countless celebrities and politicians have offered their thoughts on the matter, from President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama to Taylor Swift and Abbot Elementary‘s Quinta Brunson.

See the reactions for yourself below.

Despite there being a flood of press conferences and Twitter reactions from politicians and celebrities in recent moments, one side of the music industry has been awfully silent on the issue: the Hip-Hop community. Apart from artists like Kid Cudi — who reacted to the news by tweeting, “Fuckin unreal” — many of the most notable artists in Hip-Hop haven’t yet shared their thoughts on the polarizing Supreme Court decision.

As a result, some fans have even started calling their favorite artists out for not speaking up on the issue, and that quickly backfired on one fan who attempted to pull a statement out of Cardi B. In a recently tweeted video, the “WAP” hitmaker explained, “Every single time that I talk about political sh*t, y’all get me f*cking dragged, so shut the f*ck up.”

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe V. Wade will undoubtedly have serious implications for the United States in the coming weeks, months, and years, so stay tuned to HotNewHipHop for more details as this story develops.
