CyHiThePrinceChallengesJoeBuddento$KRapBattle

CyHi Tha Prynce is known for being one of the best writers and freestylers in the game, having written for Kanye, had one of the best verses on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and having ghostwritten “Sicko Mode” for Travis Scott and Drake. In a new freestyle for Sway’s Universe, CyHi took shots at Joe Budden.

“Joe Budden, why you got so much hate in your heart / They gon let you f*ck around make hating an art,” CyHi rapped.

In a lighthearted response, Budden took to Twitter to respond to CyHi, asking why he was being name-dropped while on vacation.

“Why is Cyhi doing that to my name while I’m on vacation? That’s not nice,” Budden tweeted.

In another tweet, Budden took aim at the actual bar, calling it a “nasty ass bar.”

“& w that nasty ass bar too ….. you lot so lucky,” Budden added.

The freestyle was later taken down, not because of lyrical content but because of a “technical issue.” Sway even confirmed it on his Twitter.

“Peace. To those asking. I decided to take down the @CyhiOfficial Freestyle down because of tech issues that interferes with his performance. It’s rare when it happens & I continue to learn from it when it does. He’s a DOPE MC! We aim to preserve the integrity @SwaysUniverse,” Sway tweeted.

CyHi later responded to Budden’s tweet, saying that he’s lucky that they messed up his vocals, before calling out Joe Budden for one day praising someone and turning their back on the the next day.

“You’re lucky they fucked my vocals up lol up but you are a hater!!! Cause One day you champion a nigga then you turn around and say some weird shit. So you use my name for views so I just returned the favor!!” CyHi tweeted.

We’re sure to hear about this on the next podcast episode.

A$AP Bari Claims A$AP Rocky is “Burnt Out” in Instagram Diss

ASAP Bari the source

It sounds like there’s some tension, or even jealousy, going on in the A$AP Mob. Fashion designer A$AP Bari, called out A$AP Rocky on Instagram on Monday saying that the artist was “burnt out.”

Bari had commented under one of Rocky’s IG post with several pictures of himself while playing a song from Memphis rapper Kingpin Skinny Pimp. While Rocky’s fans were showing love for the new pics, Bari chose violence, commenting “You burnt out…”

Fans quickly came to Rocky’s defense and dragged Bari for the sexual assault allegations made against him a few years ago. This comes after Bari accused a member of the A$AP Mob of snitching on Rocky which landed him in jail in April, just weeks before his baby with Rihanna was born.

“This rat ass n*gga Told on rocky F*cking rat,” he wrote next on a screenshot of a post from A$AP Relli. “@relli_boss why you went to the police,” he added in another story.

The Beef Continues Between D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique, King Of Comedy Says “Now I Know What Tyler Perry Knows”

D.L. Hughley Believes Kanye West is 'Conveniently' Mentally Ill

The comedy world has been going through it these last few months. Between Chris Rock being slapped at the Academy Awards and Dave Chappelle getting tackled in the middle of a concert, the comedy world’s last thing is two of its legends beefing.

Welp, that’s exactly what’s happening.

Over the last few days, D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique have been embroiled in a beef that started over a debate about which one of the comedians was headlining a show in Detroit. Mo’Nique talked about her spat with D.L. while on stage, and D.L. responded by asking Mo’Nique if she was still mad about the deal she got from Netflix a few years ago.

D.L. and Mo’Nique posted their contracts on Instagram with conflicting details. D.L. posted his deal memo, which had him as the headliner, while Mo’Nique posted the contract she sent the promoter. The two’s show schedules also were different, with Mo’Niques saying she was the headliner and D.L.’s schedule saying he was headlining.

On his morning show on Tuesday morning, D.L. took the time to clear the air about his beef with Mo’Nique. calling the legendary comedian an “occupational hazard.”

“Now I know what Tyler Perry knows, I know what Lee Daniels knows, I know what Oprah knows, I know what Steve Harvey knows, I know what Charlamagne Tha God knows, I know what Netflix knows. Saying yes to Mo’Nique is an occupational hazard.”

Hughley continued to share his side of the story, blaming himself for taking a chance with Mo’Nique and asking why instead of handling her contract dispute with the promoters, she decided to rant about it on stage during her set.

You can watch D.L.’s remarks below.

Soulja Boy Says That OG’s Aren’t “Kicking Back” Knowledge to the Younger Generation of Rappers

The Life of Draco Soulja Boy

Soulja Boy’s ability to reinvent himself should be a case study in hip hop. The rap star has been going strong for over a decade and has always been able to adapt to the current times and keep himself relevant. You could say that Soulja might have some words of wisdom to give to the younger generation, and that’s something that Soulja wishes OG’s did for the younger generation of rappers.

Soulja took to IG live to air out his grievances about the older generation failing to educate the new generation of rappers who walked in their footsteps. Soulja also said he disapproves of OG’s remarks about the new generation.

“Don’t get it fucked up, you gotta work hard, you know what I’m saying? I feel like in a way, the motherf*cking game failed us because they not kickin’ back enough knowledge to the young n*ggas,” Soulja said.

“They not telling the young niggas how to get no money, y’all not tellin’ the young n*ggas how to go out and run up some bands. That’s why my young n*ggas out here going crazy, airing sh*t out, spinning sh*t. ‘Cause I feel like, they failed us in a way, like, all the OGs, y’all supposed to be kickin’ knowledge. Y’all supposed to be kickin’ game to the young n*ggas, so they really runnin’ up a bankroll,” he added.

“And that’s the problem! I’m trying to tell you, bro, like, n*ggas look back and be like, ‘Where did this n*gga go wrong’ or ‘What happened?’ I’m like, y’all not kicking back no knowledge to the young n*ggas.”

It’s a conversation that’s been going on for years, especially now with what seems to be a rise in rappers going to jail and engaging in violent crime. Do you agree with Soulja?

Dreamville Festival Generates Economic Impact of $6.7+ Million to Raleigh Area

The 2022 Dreamville Festival, which took place in downtown Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park and was curated by North Carolina-raised hip-hop legend J. Cole and his Dreamville team, drew 80,000 people. According to numbers released today by the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau, this year’s celebrations had a direct economic impact of $6.7 million in Wake County.

Tickets were sold in all 50 states, plus Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and 20 nations, for the April 2-3 festival, which drew fans worldwide. On the festival’s Saturday night, occupancy in Wake County reached 92 percent. It’s worth noting that the $6.7 million figure is a conservative estimate that excludes local spending and a multiplier for indirect or induced effects. It simply reflects the economic impact of tourism, which is new money entering the local economy.

“My team and I continue to be awed by the overwhelming support we’ve received since closing out the second Dreamville Festival this April. But to now fully realize the festival’s positive impact on the local economy and tourism, it truly is unbelievable,” said Dreamville Partner and Festival President Adam Roy. “We are grateful for our fans who traveled across the U.S. and internationally to attend the fest, as well as for those from the City of Raleigh and Wake County who helped bring this event together. Our Dreamville team looks forward to furthering its investments in the community for years to come, especially as we plan for the festival’s return in spring 2023.”

The Dreamville Festival was rescheduled for the following years due to the COVID-19 pandemic after an initial sold-out event in 2019. The second annual Dreamville Festival returned with a thoughtfully curated, multi-stage music event from J. Cole, allowing him to give back to the home state that shaped him as an artist with a one-of-a-kind celebration of local culture, food, and
