Normani Celebrates Her Birthday With A Golden Bikini Photo Shoot In Cabo

Normani seems to have a knack for timing her new music drops with racy photo shoots on her Instagram feed. Back in March, the “Wild Side” singer posed completely naked on a couch while explaining the inspiration behind her single “Fair,” which came out four days later. “This song really captures me in one of my most vulnerable moments,” she commented back then.

Now just two days after indicating that her next single is called “Candy Paint,” Normani donned a golden bikini in idyllic Palmilla, Los Cabos, Mexico for a series of photos on Instagram. Pretty smart marketing? Sure. But we’ll give her a pass, because Normani’s post was in celebration of her 26th birthday. “Just feeling sooooo grateful today,” she commented. “Thank you lord for twenty six years around the sun. it’s y’all favorite bad bitch birthdaaaaaaaaay.” The shoot moved from a swank pad, to a boat, to a beachside hut.

Meanwhile Normani and Sam Smith recently came under fire when a copyright infringement claim was filed over their mega hit “Dancing With A Stranger.” The songwriters behind Jordan Vincent’s largely unknown electropop song “Dancing With Strangers alleged that, “The hook/chorus in both songs — the most significant part and artistic aspect of these works — contains the lyrics ‘dancing with a stranger’ being sung over a nearly identical melody and musical composition.”

Big KRIT Hits The ‘Rhode Clean’ In His Silky New Video

Big KRIT dropped off the latest video supporting his album Digital Roses Don’t Die today (June 1) for “Rhode Clean.” The ’80s-inspired visual directed by Thang Ho opens with an exquisitely dressed woman doing a brief stand-up comedy set before introducing the Mississippi rapper, who comes onto the stage dressed pretty sharply himself. From there, he delivers a performance of the record accompanied by a live band. The video continues showing flashes of luxury vehicles, other attendees dressed to the nines, and KRIT eventually makes his way outside to rap while flanked by women sitting atop one of the cars. It’s a special affair.

“Rhode Clean” follows the “So Cool” music video that was released back in January, leading into the February release of Digital Roses Don’t Die. The 17-song album’s sole feature was Rolynne and is the 35-year-old’s fifth studio album following 2019’s KRIT Iz Here. Big KRIT left the Def Jam label in 2016, and has since launched his own record label, Multi Alumni. The first release under Multi Alumni was his third studio album, 2017’s 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time, which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Jack Harlow And Drake Take In The Kentucky Derby For Their New ‘Churchill Downs’ Video

It was unsurprising to see Jack Harlow at the 2022 Kentucky Derby back on May 7, given that he’s a proud Louisville native and his new album, Come Home The Kids Miss You, has a song called “Churchill Downs,” named after the famous venue where the storied horse race has been held for nearly 150 years now (this year’s race was the 148th). He and Drake (who features on the song) made some noise at the event, whether it was Harlow getting carried around, Harlow trying to match Drake’s bets, or Drake crashing a Harlow interview.

It turns out that while the pair was there, they also shot a video for their collaboration, which was shared today. Along with B-roll of race attendees, the event atmosphere, and running horses, the video is mostly clips of Harlow and Drake rapping at the camera and otherwise enjoying the event. The clip actually also includes a bit of footage of Harlow in a baseball bat factory, presumably that of Louisville Slugger (or at least at a different factory but in reference/homage to the esteemed bat brand).

Watch the “Churchill Downs” video above.

Jack Harlow is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Kyler Murray’s Contract Negotiations Hit With Major Update

Kyler Murray gave Arizona Cardinals fans reason to celebrate on Wednesday, when the star quarterback returned to the Cardinals training facilities for optional OTA training sessions amid heated contract negotiations.

The Texas native was absent from the first week of OTA’s, a troubling sign for fans of the Arizona organization. Murray has been in the trenches of contract renegotiation with the Cardinals front office, removing all mentions of the Cardinals from his social media pages. Then, through his agent, Murray released a statement requesting for a brand new contract, which upped the stakes for the NFL franchise. Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said last week that he thinks the two sides “will be able to get something done this summer.”

Murray’s return to Cardinals practice is a huge move in their negotiations, as detailed by NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Murray has had a hot start in his first three NFL seasons. The former Heisman Trophy winner has made the Pro Bowl in two of his three seasons. He took home the Offensive Rookie of the Year at the NFL Honors in 2018, and led his team to the playoffs last season. Unfortunately for Murray and the Cardinals, their first round matchup was against the Los Angeles Rams, who ended up winning the Super Bowl after beating Arizona.

Cardinals fans have high hopes for next season after the success they found in the 2021-2022 season. The Cardinals were undefeated through seven weeks of last season, and boasted one of the best regular season records in the NFC by the end of the season.

Johnny Depp & Amber Heard Respond To Defamation Verdict In Separate Statements

Both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have released statements commenting on the verdict of their ongoing defamation trial. Handing out its decision on Wednesday, Jurors awarded Depp a total of $15 million in damages and Heard $2 million, claiming them both to be liable.

Amber Heard says that the jury’s decision to find her liable for defaming Johnny Depp is a “setback” for women everywhere who speak out.

“The disappointment I feel today is beyond words,” she wrote in a statement posted to her social media pages. “I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband.”

Heard added: “I’m even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”

Depp had sought a total of $50 million in damages as a result of an op-ed Heard wrote in The Washington Post, in which she presented herself as a survivor of “domestic abuse.” Heard, on the other hand, counter-sued Depp for $100 million, alleging her story to be true, and Depp’s labeling of them as a “hoax” to be libelous.

In a statement of his own responding to the verdict, Depp wrote that the “best is yet to come” for his career and he’s excited to start a new chapter.

“False, very serious and criminal allegations were levied at me via the media, which triggered an endless barrage of hateful content, although no charges were ever brought against me … And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled,” he wrote.

“I am, and have been, overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and the colossal support and kindness from around the world,” Depp continued. “I hope that my quest to have the truth be told will have helped others, men or women, who have found themselves in my situation, and that those supporting them never give up. I also hope that the position will now return to innocent until proven guilty, both within the courts and in the media.”

He concluded: “The best is yet to come and a new chapter has finally begun. Veritas numquam perit. Truth never perishes.”

Twitter Slams Jada Pinkett Smith After “Red Table Talk” Oscars Comments

It’s been a few months since Will Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock across the face at the Oscars. The immense backlash led to Smith’s 10-year suspension from attending the award ceremony. And while Chris Rock poked fun at the situation during his stand-up sets, Smith has been rather quiet in recent times.

In the latest episode of Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith opened up about her struggles with alopecia, and inevitably discussed the infamous moment that took the Internet by storm. Jada expressed her desire for both men to reconcile in order to heal.

“Now, about Oscar night,” she said, “my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out, and reconcile. The state of the world today? We need them both, and we all actually need one another more than ever. Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.”

It didn’t take long for the Internet to rail against her for bringing up the subject. Though Jada’s intentions were to at least reference the issue in-depth on her Facebook talk show, many believed it was another example of Jada Pinkett trying to belittle Will Smith. However, others felt that the narrative surrounding Jada is ultimately rooted in misogyny.

Shannon Sharpe Explains Why The Celtics Will Beat The Warriors

On Thursday night, the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics will play each other in the NBA Finals. This is going to be a very interesting series as one team comes in with all of the experience in the world all while the other team is trying to show people that they have what it takes to knock off such a historic franchise.

The Celtics and the Warriors have all of the analysts talking, and on Undisputed, it is clear that Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless are split on who they think will win. Bayless is taking the Warriors, all while Shannon is going with the Celtics.

Today, Sharpe broke down why he thinks the Celtics will end up taking the victory. As you can see down below, he simply believes that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are two of the three best players on the floor, which means the Celtics have a slightly stronger starting lineup.

“I feel confident in my pick because I believe 2 of the 3 best players on the court belong to the Celtics,” Sharpe said. “The matchup Tatum and Brown present for the Warriors will be a problem. Celtics in 7.”

Sharpe also notes that the Celtics have a great defense, which is most definitely going to play a huge factor in all of this. Needless to say, we are going to be in for a truly memorable series.

Omari Hardwick Only Made $150K Per Episode On “Power,” Owed 50 Cent Money

While Power may have wrapped up its sixth and final season back in early 2020, the show’s pop culture impact still garners interest and spinoffs to this day. Today, that comes in the form of the show’s leading star Omari Hardwick, who played James “Ghost” St. Patrick, speaking about his financial troubles, despite the show’s success. It was his big break into the mainstream, but he recently spoke to The Pivot podcast about how much he made in the show’s run.

Hardwick said he made $150,000 dollars per episode. Compared to Sam Heugh’s $100,000 per episode, frontman of fellow Starz show Outlander, this seems like quite the paycheck. However, when compared to other leading roles, Hardwick’s frustration is more understandable. For example, Jeremy Strong, who has one of the leading roles on HBO’s Succession, makes between $300,000 and $350,000 per episode according to The Hollywood Reporter

“I still haven’t made what I should have made. I still never made the money—no, the money, I never made what I should have made. Never,” said Hardwick. “Period. It’s happening now, finally.”

Even by its final season, Hardwick said he never got the salary he wanted on Power. However, the star also said that he never felt like he made it until landing the lead role on Power, co-created and executive produced by rapper 50 Cent. Hardwick even spoke on owing 50 Cent money and how he needed 50’s help in the summers between the first and second season.

“I think he forever just really really respects the shit out of me for that, we just not taught that in our community,” explained Hardwick after recounting when he paid 50 back. “So for me to give it back to 50 with interest, I was just so proud to be able to do that… It was absolutely given in a way of, like, you know take care of the family bro, use that.”

Hardwick has more projects on the way to look forward to. He was recently cast in Paramount’s upcoming Fantasy Football film by the NFL and EA Sports along with Kelly Rowland. When it comes to the Power universe, 50 Cent recently said he is trying to buy the rights to his shows from Starz, which includes spinoffs like this year’s Power Book IV: Force. Whether Hardwick returns to the Power universe or continues a new phase of his career, we hope he gets the bag he deserves.
