Chief Keef Launches 43B, A New Label With BMG, And Signs Lil Gnar

Chief Keef is only 26 years old, but he’s already a recording industry veteran. His career started back in 2012 when he was just 16, and it comprises four studio albums, four EPs, and 38(!) self-released mixtapes. While the majority of his projects were released under the auspices of his own Glory Boyz Entertainment or Glo Gang imprints, he’s cycled through a variety of distribution partners, including Interscope, RBC Records, and 101 Distribution. However, it looks like he’s finally getting an official label, 43B, through which he’ll release projects for his own signees beginning with Atlanta upstart Lil Gnar.

Gnar has been recording and releasing music since 2018 and has been affiliated with the SoundCloud “rage rap” movement since, working with such contemporaries as Craig Xen, Lil Skies, Lil Tracy, Lil Yachty, Ski Mask The Slump God, and Trippie Redd, with videos directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett. He dropped his first official full-length album Die Bout It earlier this year with features from the late Lil Keed, YSL associate Yak Gotti, and his new label boss, Chief Keef.

In a statement, Chief Keef called 43B a “passion project,” and said he looks forward to passing on his hard-won industry knowledge to younger artists (Gnar is 26, too, but presumably less experienced in the music business). “43B has been a passion project of mine for over a year and I’m ready to give artists that are changing the game a label where they can really succeed,” he said. “I’ve been independent for almost 10 years, so I want to pass on my knowledge of the industry to artists who are shifting the culture so they can make it to the top.”

Meanwhile, BMG head of A&R and marketing Sophie Kautz said, “43B will operate on an artist-friendly model, giving our artists and producers the means to flourish in their careers.”

Karlae Provides Young Thug Update: “He’s Doing Good, Honestly He Was Giving Me Advice”

30-year-old Young Thug is due to remain behind bars for the foreseeable future after being denied bond in the ongoing YSL Gang indictment case, and while we won’t likely receive a direct update from him anytime soon, his on-again-off-again partner Jerrika Karlae has given some very positive insight into how the father of six has been coping behind bars following his arrest and the untimely passing of Lil Keed.

“Yeah, I spoke to him,” she told hosts on The Progress Report Podcast. “He’s doing good, actually, and he’s in great spirits. I feel like this is just a moment for him to learn a lot of lessons.”

Funnily enough, she shared that Thugger has actually been the one to give her advice on how to cope with the troubling situation that’s separated them, showing just how strong his mental attitude is.

“Honestly, he was giving me advice on how to… He was like, ‘Keep your head in the game, wake up every day and put a smile on your face and be thankful, and we good.'” she revealed, adding that the rapper mentioned how much he loves his fans as well.

Another recent update on the YSL case comes from YFN Lucci’s lawyer, Drew Findling, who believes that the entire thing is a result of racial profiling. “What I think is that we’ve exaggerated what gangs are in Atlanta. We’ve exaggerated what RICO is in Atlanta,” he told TMZ.

“We’re not really indicting anybody for Quentin Tarantino films, are we? We’re not indicting anybody for ‘I shot the sheriff, but I didn’t shoot the deputy,'” he continued. “It’s completely f*cking racist. That’s what it is.”

Ray J Wants Straight Men To Show More Support To Their Gay Friends: “RAY PRIDE!!”

Ray J wants straight men to start being more supportive of their friends in the LGBTQ community in honor of pride month. The singer explained in a lengthy video on Instagram that straight men don’t “shout out the gay community” enough.

“GAY PRIDE/ RAY PRIDE!! STR8 N****s!!” Ray captioned the 11-and-a-half-minute video. “Need to show more LOVE TO MY GAY N****s!!! The time is NOW!!!”

In the clip, he continued: “A lot of n****s that’s straight, they don’t be trying to shout out the gay community and all my gay n****s the right way. I gotta do it, ’cause I wanna make sure that n****s is showing nothing but love and I fuck with y’all.”

“I just wanna say, it’s Gay Pride Month. Shout out to all my gay n****s,” he added. “Shout out to everybody in the LGBTQ community. I told my n****s that it need to be more straight n****s giving love to the gay n****s.”

He even goes as far as to suggest some of his friends come out of the closet.

The post comes not only at the start of pride month, but at a time when the hip-hop community has begun to become more accepting of the LGBTQ community. With rappers like Lil Nas X reaching the top of the charts and others such as Isaiah Rashad coming out, there is more representation in rap than ever before.

Despite this, there’s still been plenty of reactionary backlash. Boosie Badazz, in particular, has had a very toxic beef with Lil Nas X.

Aaron Donald Signs Historic Mega-Deal With The Rams: Details

Aaron Donald is one of the best defensive players in the history of the entire NFL. He has dominated the league over the last few years and there is no doubt that opposing offensive lines and quarterbacks fear him. Of course, they should fear him as he is a sack machine who also got the game-winning sack in the Super Bowl to give the Los Angeles Rams a championship.

Over the last little while, there has been a lot of discussion surrounding whether or not he will retire from the sport. Recently, he said that he would come back if it made sense for him financially. As it turns out, the numbers just worked out for the man as he signed a historic deal with the Rams.

According to Ian Rapoport, Donald’s deal is now worth $65 million over the next two years. He is guaranteed all of that money and in 2024, he can continue playing for an extra $30 million. This makes him the highest-paid non-QB in the history of the league, which is definitely a huge honor to be bestowed. No non-QB has ever made over $30 million, and we’re sure this price tag is exactly why Donald ultimately decided to continue playing.

Lizzo & Stand-Up Comedian Myke Wright Make Their Red Carpet Debut

Love looks good on Lizzo. The 34-year-old has been teasing a new man in her life on social media for some time now, though she’s kept his identity hidden under pretty tight wraps. On Saturday night, however, she and stand-up comedian Myke Wright made their red carpet debut together at an event for the “Truth Hurts” singer’s new Amazon Prime Video series, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.

Her beau didn’t make it into the cover photo of her Instagram carousel commemorating the evening (that was reserved for a selfie to flex her face card), but the Detroit native did sneak in a sweet snapshot on the fifth slide of them posing in their finest fits.

Lizzo kept all eyes on her in a bright pink ensemble, consisting of a thin-strapped mini dress, worn with gloves, tights, and tall platform heels, all in the same colour while Wright kept it dapper in a classic suit and turtleneck combination.

“Ima boss ass bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch,” she captioned the post, which also included a picture of her gloved hand – complete with a cute floral diamond ring – atop the entertainers.

As Page Six notes, Lizzo and Wright were first spotted out and about in October of last year, and paparazzi cameras snapped photos of them hitting the town for the “About Damn Time” hitmaker’s birthday in April.

Around the same time, she confirmed to Andy Cohen that she was in a relationship on his SiriusXM radio show. “Yeah, whatever, yeah,” she said, failing to elaborate further on any of the intimate details of their union.

While they only recently started dating, Lizzo and Myke Wright have known one another since 2016, when they worked as co-hosts on MTV’s Wonderland – check out a clip of them chatting with DJ Khaled about the show below.
