DJ Mustard & Chanel Thierry Split After Producer Files For Divorce

DJ Mustard and his longtime boo Chanel Thierry are calling it quits. As TMZ reports, the 31-year-old producer filed just a year and a half after the couple exchanged vows.

Legal documents obtained by the publication reveal that “irreconcilable differences” are the reason for their separation, also citing the date of their union’s end as Monday, May 2nd.

Mustard, born Dijon McFarlane, shares three children with Thierry, ranging in age from two to 10 years old. At this time, he’s requested joint legal and physical custody with his ex.

While they’ve been together for some time now, they were only married in October of 2020 – Mustard proposed back in 2018, surrounded by close friends like Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods.

“I knew when I met you at 16, it was something about you about us, I didn’t want to mess up,” Thierry wrote on Instagram at the time, sharing her love story with the world.

“You stayed my friend even tho we both wanted to be more… We was scared. I didn’t want things to go left. We remained really good friends as we watch each other go through failed relationships. Finally after three years we decided to take a step out on fate, and date,” she recalled.

In his filing, Mustard mentioned the prenup that he and Thierry signed. The mother of three is the founder of a pyjama and loungewear company called Sleepova, and also creates content on YouTube.

Her most recent Instagram upload arrived earlier today, and still shows her rocking her wedding ring – check it out above.

Cardi B Says She’s A Tired Of Being Famous After Meta Gala: “God Cursed Me”

Cardi B says that she’s been “cursed” by fame after attending the 2022 Meta Gala in New York City on Monday night. The Bronx singer discussed her struggle with popularity during a live stream on Instagram after the event.

“I hate fame. I hate being famous. I really hate it,” she remarked during the stream. “Let me tell you something: If you ever wish to be rich and famous, don’t wish to be famous, wish to be rich.”

From there she explains that she’s been feeling good in recent days hanging out with Offset and partying, but as soon as she had to do something that will be covered by the media, her mood was ruined.

“I feel like God cursed me with fame,” she added.

After the Meta Gala, rumors began circulating on social media that Cardi and Billie Elish have beef due to a video where Eilish can be heard saying “she’s weird” in Cardi’s direction. Cardi shot down the rumors.

“The internet is trying to divide us,” she told Eilish. “They don’t understand you’re my baby.”

Cardi’s latest stream comes after deleting her Twitter account, earlier this year, after calling out her “dumbass fan base.”

“I’m deleting my Twitter On God I hate this fuckin dumbass fan base,” she wrote at the time. “You got the slow dumbasses dragging my kids all cause y’all [thought] I was going to the Grammys and I didn’t the fuck?”

Drake Inks “Lebron-Sized” Deal With Universal Music Group: Report

Drake remains a once-in-a-generation talent that has transcended beyond hip-hop royalty to become a fixture of pop culture. The rapper’s ascent from under Lil Wayne’s wing transformed him into one of the biggest stars in music today with a catalog that has largely gotten better with time. However, there’s been speculation surrounding his label deals over the years.

According to Variety, Lucien Grainge confirmed during UMG’s Q1 earnings call that Drake inked a huge deal with Universal Music Group. Described as “Lebron-sized” among industry insiders, the rapper’s new deal encompasses much more than just the music itself, and that shouldn’t be shocking. Grainge previously joked that Drake has an unlimited budget. Drizzy and UMG have entered an agreement that includes recordings, publishing, merchandise, and visual media projects.

Grainge referred to it as among the “expanded portfolios” that reach into different creative avenues. The deal appears to be on par with The Weeknd’s recent extension to his contract with UMG earlier this year.

The question remains: how much did Drake ink the deal for? While he’s left clues behind on several songs — most notably his verse on Migos’ “Havin My Way” where he references his paystub from Lucien Grainge — an industry expert broke down some of the numbers. With over 37M equivalent album units sold and becoming the first artist to surpass the 50B streams on Spotify, Drake could bring in upwards of $50M  each year off of his catalog. His deal with UMG could be somewhere around the $400M mark.

“Drake has the bargaining power to negotiate a net profit split with the best deal terms and a humongous advance up front,” one of the top music industry attorneys told Variety.

We’ll keep you updated on more information regarding Drake’s deal.

Amber Heard Fails Attempt To Get Johnny Depp Defamation Case Thrown Out

The Amber Heard vs. Johnny Depp saga continues. Earlier this week, we discovered that the actor was reportedly due to take home $22.5 million for reprising his beloved role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Disney’s Pirates 6, but his agent claims he was frozen out from the project following his exes op-ed in the Washington Post.

Over the past month, Depp’s legal team has called various witnesses to the stand as they try to prove that he suffered significant damages over the Aquaman star’s domestic abuse allegations. The latest update from TMZ reveals that Heard and her team have made a “last-ditch effort” to have the father of two’s defamation claims tossed after his side rested their case, but a judge declined.

Tristan Fewings/Getty Images

The motion was reportedly filed on Tuesday, requesting that the judge dismiss several of the 58-year-old’s claims – a move that’s said to have been expected, and is “fairly standard” in cases such as this one.

Ben Rottenborn argued that Depp wouldn’t be able to win the case as they haven’t proven that Amber “acted with actual malice” by writing the op-ed piece. They alleged that Heard didn’t come up with the headline on her own and that ACLU “penned the first draft for her.”

The attorney and his colleagues maintain that Heard’s claims of domestic violence are true, insisting that the Edward Scissorhands star proved his abuse through his testimony.

Ben Chew, who has been defending Depp, didn’t hold back when he had the floor, yelling “She’s the abuser in this courtroom!” at one point, and elsewhere attacking Heard for allegedly failing to donate money that she promised she would.

From now on, the courtroom will hear the mother of one and her team present their side. Amber herself is expected to testify later this week – check back in with HNHH then for any further updates on the defamation trial.

Kendrick Lamar Hints That ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ Is a Double Album

Kendrick Lamar fans have waited five long years for a new album, but he’s making it worth the wait.

The Compton rapper has hinted that his upcoming album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers will be a double album.

On Tuesday, a new folder was uploaded to his website oklama.com titled “master” and containing a photo of someone, possibly Kendrick himself, holding a pair of CDs. One is labeled “Mr. Morale” and the other is called “Big Steppers.” Both titles were handwritten in marker on the CDs along with “Master Copy.” The photo also includes a red book that shares the same name as the album title.

His subtle hint wasn’t lost on fans, who speculated that the two discs mean that Kendrick is about to drop a double album like hip-hop icons including Biggie, Tupac, and OutKast.

It won’t be long before the answer is revealed. Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Kendrick’s final album for TDE, arrives May 13.
