Rapper Kidd Creole is being sentenced after being found guilty of first-degree manslaughter. The 62-year-old Creole, whose real name is Nathaniel Glover, was sentenced to 16-years in prison today for the murder of a homeless man, John Jolly in New York City.

The founding member of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five was convicted of fatally stabbing the man with a streak knife in 2017 in Midtown.

Prosecutors accused the Bronx native of stabbing Jolly after becoming enraged because he thought Jolly was gay and was hitting on him. After stabbing Jolly, who was 55, it is reported that Kidd Creole went to his workplace nearby, changed his clothes and washed the knife. Creole was apprehended the next day.

Anderson .Paak Is Set To Make Directorial Debut And Star Alongside His Son in ‘K-POPS!’

Just when it seems like Anderson .Paak can’t get any better, he adds a new gift to his repertoire. The eight-time Grammy Award winner will make his feature directorial debut with dramatic comedy K-POPS!, which he will also star in, Deadline reports. It will be a special treat for the multi-hyphenate as his son, Soul Rasheed, will join him on the big screen.

The film follows a washed-up musician taking his talents to Korea to write for K-pop stars, learning along the way that his estranged son is the leader of one of the most popular groups within the genre. The father sees the opportunity as a way to push himself forward, but realizes connecting with his son is much more gratifying.

The film’s premise uniquely parallels the 36-year-old’s life in certain ways, though calling him washed may be a stretch. Alongside Silk Sonic member Bruno Mars, .Paak brought home four awards at the most recent Grammys as they now prepare for their Vegas residency in May.

The Ventura artist stated, “My mom is from Korea but she was adopted so I never knew anything about my heritage until I met my wife. This movie is a reflection on learning about this part of myself alongside my wife and son — and spending even more time with them!”

The film, released under Stampede Ventures, includes contributions from rapper Jon “Dumbfoundead” Park and writing from Khaila Amazan, responsible for A Cuban Girl’s Guide To Tea And Tomorrow.

Ben Simmons Forced To Get Surgery, Recovery Timeline Revealed

Ben Simmons has been one of the stranger cases in the NBA over the last few years. Things seemed to be going so well for him in the middle of last season, however, it all went off the rails after a terrible showing in the playoffs. Since that time, Simmons has been traded from the Philadelphia 76ers, and he didn’t even play a single game with the Brooklyn Nets, despite promising to.

Simmons has been dealing with chronic back issues and they have not been getting any better as of late. There was this sense that he would be able to return in the playoffs but that simply was not the case. Now, fans have no idea whether or not Simmons will ever be back, and it is pretty concerning, to say the least.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Simmons has a herniated disc in his back and it requires surgery. In fact, the recovery timetable for such a surgery is actually quite long. He will now have to be out for three to four weeks, however, the good news is that the Nets believe Simmons will be able to come back just in time for training camp.

This is, indeed, another setback for the Nets star, however, it is good news in the sense that Simmons will now finally get the relief he needs in order to set on the right track again.

Nicki Minaj Flexes Her Abs And Has A PSA About Big Boobs

Nicki Minaj is a legend in the world of hip-hop. In the eyes of many, she is even one of the GOATs as she has been able to pave the way for other female MCs. There is no doubt that Nicki’s influence is found all throughout hip-hop today, and she even helped forge the blueprint for rap that tows the line between female empowerment and straight up hedonism.

With that being said, Nicki has also been someone who prides herself on her physique. The artist has used her physique to help sell her music, and at the end of the day, it is a huge part of her image, and even her nickname. With that said, it should be no surprise that Minaj would show off her physique at any given moment in which she’s feeling herself a bit.

As you can see from the clip below, Nicki’s abs are looking pretty good right now, and it’s clear that Minaj has been working hard to keep herself looking this way. The artist also delivered a short PSA about big boobs, stating “Big boobs can be very fkng misleading.” Essentially, Nicki feels as though they tend to hide her abs a little too much for her liking.

Dr. Dre Lost $200M After Leaking Apple-Beats Deal With Tyrese: Report

Jay-Z was declared hip-hop’s first billionaire by Forbes a few years ago. However, many were under the impression that title actually belonged to Dr. Dre. In 2014, when Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s Beats headphones secured a deal with Apple Music, the hip-hop mogul declared in what appeared to be a drunken video clip that he was “hip-hop’s first billionaire.” Apparently, it was that video in particular that cut him a few million short of reaching the financial milestone.

New York Times reporter Tripp Mickle’s new book, After Steve: How Apple Became A Trillion-Dollar Company and Lost Its Souldivulges Apple’s acquisition of Beats, detailing the specifics of how the deal was cut by $200M. The deal was reported to be $3.2B but Dre’s premature announcement breached the confidentiality agreement.

“It was a sum that Iovine and Dre could barely fathom,” an excerpt from iMore reads. “As the lawyers worked through final details, Iovine summoned the leadership team of Beats to his home near Beverly Hills. He told everyone that they were on the cusp of finalizing a massive deal. The only thing that could spoil it would be for word of the deal to leak.”

Iovine reportedly told his team to keep their mouth shut, referencing a scene from Goodfellas “Jimmy tells the guys, ‘Don’t buy any furs. Don’t buy any cars. Don’t get showy’? Don’t move.”

Unfortunately, Diddy ended up calling Iovine at 2 a.m. the following morning where he revealed that Tyrese posted a video with Dr. Dre who declared himself as hip-hop’s first billionaire. “Iovine pulled up the video and cringed as he saw Tyrese bragging about being drunk on Heineken in a recording studio,” the excerpt continues.

“When word of the video reached Cook, he summoned Iovine and Dre to Cupertino,” Mickle writes. “He invited them into a conference room for a private conversation. Iovine was anxious and afraid that Cook was going to kill the deal. Instead of the anger and cursing that would have poured out of Jobs in a moment like that, Cook exuded calm. He told the music executives that he was disappointed and wished that Dre’s social media outburst hadn’t happened but said that the video hadn’t shaken his conviction that buying Beats was right for Apple.”

Mickle says Cook leveraged the social media fiasco to cut out $200M from the deal, bringing the offer down to $3B, ultimately costing Dre the crown of being the first hip-hop artist to become a billionaire.
