Lil Baby Says He Has Made $50 Million In Rap & Is “Still Tryna Get It Right”

Since Lil Durk and Lil Baby dropped The Voice of the Heroes back in June, the two have popped up together on stage, in IG flicks and in each other’s comment sections.

Durk, who’s dealt with a whole range of traumatic events and emotions in the past year, has been vocal about friends and family he has lost, the pain he feels inside, his love for his girl and arguably most importantly, his love for the money. The Chicago rapper is always engaging in some sort of money talk and yesterday, Durkio took to IG with a simple message: he’s about start flexing even more.

“Ima start putting this shit in y’all faces incase yall think we got the same amount of money,” the “Backdoor” rapper captioned a photo of himself flipping off the camera.

Adding to the sentiment of making a ton of money and letting everybody know about it, Durk’s Voice of the Heroes counterpart hopped in the comments with a message of his own.

“Story of my life !,” Baby wrote. “50ms In still tryna get it right !”

It’s hard to say exactly how much money Lil Baby has made off music since exploding onto the scene back in 2018 but according to the My Turn rapper, it’s more than $50 million. And even though that type of money is insane to the regular person, Baby wants more.

After getting caught rocking a fake Patek Phillippe watch last month and looking a little lost following Megan Thee Stallion around this year’s Met Gala, it’s clear Lil Baby is dealing with the trials and tribulations of becoming an A-list superstar, not just in the rap game, but across a bunch of different platforms. But despite the ups and downs, the Atlanta rapper just wants to get his money up. And based on his recent track record of killing every single feature and performance, Lil Baby is well on his way to making as much money as anybody could imagine.

What do you think of Baby saying he’s stacked up $50 million? What do you think of him saying he’s still trying to get it right? Let us know in the comments.

Kanye West Officially Has His First-Ever Diamond Song

After nearly two full decades in the game, Kanye West finally has his first-ever Diamond-certified single by the RIAA.

It feels wild that Kanye West didn’t have any Diamond-certified records before today, but the legendary recording artist has scored his first with “Stronger,” which has officially gone 10-times platinum in the United States. The song, which samples Daft Punk, is now considered Kanye’s most commercially successful track, which may be surprising to some. At the time of its release, there were headlines being written about how many mix and mastering engineers were required to make this song perfect. Kanye previously admitted that his team mixed this record over seventy-five times, so this achievement is a monumental one for all parties involved in the creation of “Stronger.”

The music video was also a long project for Ye to undertake, editing the clip for three straight months. His use of the “shutter shades” during the music video sparked an international trend, with kids everywhere reaching for their nearest pair of funky shades to rock to school.

In addition to Kanye’s first-ever Diamond plaque, he also had a busy September with the RIAA, going platinum with “Devil In A New Dress” and his Ye album, and gold with “Drive Slow,” “On God,” and “Hurricane.”

Congratulations are in order for Kanye West and his team! Here’s to more Diamond records.

R. Kelly’s YouTube Channels Have Been Removed

R. Kelly was recently found guilty on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, and he currently faces the possibility of life behind bars. As of now, his sentencing date is scheduled for May of 2022.

In the wake of the guilty verdict, YouTube has made the decision to permanently suspend two of R. Kelly’s channels: RKellyTV and RKellyVevo. As per a report by Bloomberg, the platform has also prohibited Kelly from making additional channels moving forward. As of yet, they have maintained their decision to keep his discography on YouTube Music.

Speaking on the decision, YouTube’s head of legal Nicole Alston cited the “creator responsibility guidelines.” “Egregious actions committed by R. Kelly warrant penalties beyond standard enforcement measures due to a potential to cause widespread harm,” states Alston. “Ultimately we are taking this action to protect our users similar to other platforms.”

It’s not the first time YouTube has actively removed a channel from its platform. In the past, Bloomberg notes that they have taken action against Larry Nassar, Family of Five, and Austin Jones. A policy was introduced in 2018 that would allow YouTube to take action against content creators who actively participate in any behavior that could “cause malicious harm to others.”

Be sure to stay tuned for further developments on the R. Kelly saga, as the fallout may have an impact on the music industry. It’s not the first time a major streaming platform has taken a strong stance against an artist — many will look to Spotify’s briefly-implemented “hateful conduct” policy, which led to the removal of music by XXXTentacion, R. Kelly, and more from their playlists. The move was met with backlash from fans and artists alike, prompting its reversal shortly thereafter.

Kyrie Irving Misses Practice As Nets Prepare For Missed Games Due To Vaccine Mandate

After making an appearance at the Brooklyn Nets’ first preseason game in LA alongside teammates and fellow superstars Kevin Durant and James Harden over the weekend, Kyrie Irving was not at practice on Tuesday.

Irving, who has been staunch in his anti-COVID vaccine stance, was forced to miss practice as New York City mandates say that in order for individuals to participate in indoor activities, they must be vaccinated.

Irving’s absence from Nets practice is no surprise. The superstar point guard has been clear that he has no interest in receiving the COVID vaccine, and despite other NBA players like Andrew Wiggins ultimately deciding to get vaccinated in order to not miss games in vaccine mandated cities, it seems as if all sides have reached a stalemate.

It was reported that Irving, if he remains unvaccinated, will lose out on $381,000 per game missed this season and analysts and former players like Kendrick Perkins have been outspoken in saying that the Nets and Irving’s teammates should simply cut ties with him. The Nets have made no indication that they’ll trade, release or punish Irving in any way (besides financially), but it is now being reported that the team is prepared to move on knowing he will not be available for any home games or practices.

ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski had previously reported that the Nets were unsure of Irving’s plans regarding the COVID vaccine but as the regular season approaches, Woj is now reporting the Nets are less optimistic.

“There had been previous optimism Irving would get vaccinated and fulfill local mandates, but that hope is waning and Irving’s continued resistance to vaccination has Nets preparing for possibility they’ll be without him for home practices and games for foreseeable future,” Woj offered on Twitter.

Losing Irving for half of their games would be a big enough blow (he averaged 26.9 ppg, 6 apg and 4.8 rpg on 50%/40%/92% splits last season) but it will be interesting to see just how accommodating the Nets are. There is an easy fix to this problem and seeing as how Brooklyn’s two other superstars were vaccinated and are ready to be on the court as much as possible, it would not be crazy for the Nets to take further action to prevent Irving from participating at all. There have been few instances of this lack of availability throughout NBA history and as the old saying goes, availability is the best ability and currently, Irving is not very available.

Let us know what you think of the Kyrie situation and how the Nets should move forward in the comments below.

50 Cent Reacts To Dave Chappelle’s DaBaby Joke From “The Closer”

On Tuesday, Netflix released Dave Chappelle’s latest stand-up comedy special, The Closer. The one-hour and 12-minute stand-up takes place in Detroit and serves as Chappelle’s final offering in his extremely lucrative Netflix deal, and like many of his recent specials, The Closer has been met with a wild mix of utmost praise and extreme criticism.

One viral joke from The Closer involved Dave Chappelle negotiating with the LGBTQ community for the release of DaBaby. “A lot of the LGBTQ community doesn’t know DaBaby’s history. He’s a wild guy,” Chappelle jokingly explained. “He once shot a n***a and killed him in Walmart. Nothing bad happened to his career.”

“Do you see where I’m going with this?” Chappelle continued. “In our country, you can shoot and kill a n***a but you better not hurt a gay person’s feelings.”

That joke alone has sparked mixed reception from fans, and while we wait to see if and how DaBaby reacts to being name-dropped in a Dave Chappelle comedy special, it turns out that DaBaby’s newfound mentor, 50 Cent, has something to say about it.

According to Fif, not only is Dave Chappelle “a funny mother f*cker,” but he also was able to expertly lay out what makes hip-hop culture so intriguing.

“Dave Chappelle is a funny mother fucker that was flawless,” 50 Cent said. ” Hip hop loves things that are damaged, that’s the beauty of the culture. @dababy is on a new path music has changed everything.”

YouTube Shuts Down R. Kelly’s Channels, Wiping Many Official Videos From The Platform

Following R. Kelly being found guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering, it is now a bit harder to find his songs and videos: YouTube has permanently suspended the RKellyTV and RKellyVevo channels, which hosted official uploads of Kelly’s videos and songs.

Nicole Alston, YouTube’s head of legal, told Bloomberg, “Egregious actions committed by R. Kelly warrant penalties beyond standard enforcement measures due to a potential to cause widespread harm. Ultimately we are taking this action to protect our users similar to other platforms.”

Alston also noted that Kelly will no longer be able to use, own, or create YouTube channels. A YouTube spokesperson also said in a statement, “We can confirm that we have terminated two channels linked to R. Kelly in accordance with our creator responsibility guidelines.”

That said, as it stands now, at least a portion of the videos that originally appeared on these channels are still accessible, but with caveats. Searching YouTube for “Ignition (Remix),” for example, shows an audio-only result (a video just featuring cover art) that appears to be from the RKellyTV channel. When clicking on the channel link, though, the channel is blank except for the message, “This account has been terminated for a violation of YouTube’s Terms of Service.”

When going to watch that actual “Ignition (Remix)” video, the page is accessible and the video is able to be played, but the page indicates the video is from the “R. Kelly – Topic” channel, instead of RKellyTV as indicated in the YouTube search results.

Meanwhile, the page for the RKellyVevo channel behaves differently than the RKellyTV channel. Instead of a message about the channel’s termination, it is as though the channel never existed at all, as the error page is the same one yielded when trying to access an invalid YouTube URL: “This page isn’t available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else.”

Videos for songs on which Kelly features, like Ja Rule’s “Wonderful” and Nick Cannon’s “Gigolo,” are still available on YouTube, as they were uploaded to different channels. As of now, Kelly’s music is still available on YouTube Music, as it is on other audio streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.

Bhad Bhabie Says Body-Shamers Failed Her Test: “Now I Know It’s Not About Me”

Body-shamers went after 18-year-old rapper Bhad Bhabie again this week after she posted a video of herself in a new wig and heavy make-up, cracking jokes about being the highest-paid member of her family despite being the “biggest disappointment.” Social media users quickly jumped into her comments and made disrespectful, hateful comments about her look, telling the teenager that she looks like a 35-year-old woman, a drag queen, a less attractive version of Cardi B, and more. The remarks were pretty vile to go through and according to Bhabie, the entire video was a test to see if her bullies would re-appear, and they failed the test.

Sharing a video response on Instagram after the original clip went viral, Bhad Bhabie said, “I just want y’all to know that y’all failed the test. Y’all want me to tell you what the test was? We did a wig that had no type of curl to it, no type of natural curl, and we did make-up lighter than my skin with barely any contour just to see if y’all would still make the comments. And you did. So now I know it’s not about me, actually. ‘Oh, she looks this, she’s trying to look that.’ It’s literally that y’all just want a famous person to respond to you, that’s all it is. If y’all kept saying that I had a banana on my head, and I said, ‘No, I don’t have a banana on my head,’ y’all would continuously say it, no matter if I did or didn’t, so… You’re figured out! Hahaha! I win, you lose!”

The replies to Bhad Bhabie’s latest video were pretty bad, with thousands of people commenting on her looks. Check out her video response below, as well as the original clip underneath. What do you think?
