Freddie Gibbs Says Elvis Should’ve Been Locked Up Like R. Kelly

A verdict was finally handed down in R. Kelly’s racketeering trial in New York. The embattled singer was found guilty on all counts including a racketeering charge, and eight violations under the Mann Act. While the singer’s attorney pushed back against the jury’s findings, his attorney said that the government “cherry-picked” evidence and that there were plenty of inconsistencies throughout the witness testimonies.

Kelly’s looking at some serious time behind bars after he was convicted but there are several more cases against him in other states. However, it’s being reported that Kellz might be heading to prison for the remainder of his life. His recent conviction could mean that he gets a sentence as low as 10 years or the max. life sentence.

The reactions were plentiful. As we’ve seen, some of Kelly’s supporters are still fighting to prove that he’s innocent. However, Freddie Gibbs had an interesting reaction to Kelly’s case. The rapper took to Twitter where he stated that the late Elvis Presley should’ve received the same punishment as Kellz. “R. Kelly facing life. Elvis shoulda went to jail too. I’m just saying,” he tweeted. Freddie Gibbs is referring to claims that Elvis Presley preyed on underage girls and had incredibly abusive tendencies towards women.

This isn’t really a new take. K. Michelle, a pupil of Kelly’s, previously explained how Elvis used to also pick up underage girls and married a teenager yet never faced the wrath of cancel culture like the embattled R&B singer.

Bill Cosby Says R. Kelly “Got Railroaded,” Blames Systemic Racism

Since Bill Cosby’s release from prison on account of a once-lost previous agreement to keep the comedian and television star from going behind bars, the 84-year-old has fired back at his critics and even announced he would be going on tour. (He later announced he would be cancelling the tour as a result of further legal proceedings.)

Last night, upon the news that R. Kelly had been found guilty on 9 federal counts including racketeering, sex crimes, kidnapping, obstruction of justice and human trafficking, Cosby and his camp decided it would be a good idea to come to the defense of the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer.

Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s spokesman, told TMZ that Cosby said R. Kelly was “railroaded” and blamed prosecutor Gloria Allred and systemic racism in the process.

Cosby’s sentiments on Kelly’s conviction, however, should come as no surprise.

Allred, along with representing victims in the R. Kelly case, also represented alleged victims in Cosby’s sexual assault in 2018 and played a role in putting the comedian behind bars.

Wyatt’s conviction that, despite Kelly being found guilty and facing 10 years to life, the singer would not be sentenced and the case would be overturned in appeals court, is a possibility but unlike Cosby, Kelly does not have any deal in place to prevent prosecution.

Cosby, who said (through Wyatt) that Allred is using the same playbook on Kelly that she used to put him away, faces a new court date in 2022 and upon his release from prison in back in June, has created a huge divide between those who see him as Cliff Huxtable of The Cosby Show and those who see him as a sexual predator who belongs in prison.

Either way, Cosby’s belief that R. Kelly comes as no surprise. The guy has taken the less-popular side of nearly every issue of the last decade and is railing against a prosecutor who worked tirelesslly to put him in prison.

Dennis Schröder Explains Why He Left $78M On The Table To Sign With Celtics

People have been clowning new Celtics guard Dennis Schröder all offseason long.

After the German point guard reportedly turned down a 4-year/$84M contract from the Lakers at the end of the 2020/2021 season, it became increasingly clear that he was not going to make that kind of money anywhere else. And months after initially turning down the deal, Schröder settled for a one-year/$5.9M deal with the Boston Celtics.

At first glance, turning down $84M for $5.9M seems like the most outlandish decision anybody could make, but in his first time sitting down with the Celtics media, Schröder explained his decision, saying “money is not everything at all times.”

“At the end of the day, I feel like for me, personally, I got to be comfortable in the environment I’m in,” Schröder told Tom Westerholm of Boston.combefore addressing his one year in LA. “I love the Lakers organization and they did great things, but I think for me, and this is just business, I don’t think I fit in 100 percent. You play with LeBron and AD, that’s two of the best players in the NBA, and I don’t think I gave them everything that I bring to the table.”

Schröder is right.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis are two of the best players in the league and, coming off their championship run in the 2020 bubble, it was clear that, for whatever reason, Schröder struggled to mesh with the two superstars on the court. Averaging 15.4 points per game in ’20/’21, Schröder dropped nearly four points from his ’19/’20 mark of 18.9 and, despite increases in both assists and steals, Schröder simply didn’t fit.

Explaining that he signed a nice contract after his fourth season in the league (bumping up from $2.7M/year to $15M/year) the new Celtic ensured that he was good financially and made this decision purely based on basketball.

Noting that former Hawks teammate and current Celtic Al Horford, along with new head coach Ime Udoka, president of basketball operations Brad Stevens and budding All-Stars Jayston Tatum and Jaylen Brown all reached out before he signed, Schröder said he intends to play in Boston for a while.

“I think Boston was just the right fit and the right mentality, how the organization works, the system, it’s a winning mentality that was just for me the right move to make … I hope that this is going to be for a long time.”

Boosie Says “My Struggle” Movie Made $1 Million On First Day

On the same day he claimed Instagram removed his profile for asking Drake to promote his movie My Struggle, Boosie let it be known that same movie is raking in money.

Telling VladTV he began working on My Struggle while locked up, Boosie revealed that the biopic made $1,000,000 on its release day.

“I made a million dollars the first day,” Boosie told Vlad before clarifying that the film had actually made around $940,000, or just under a million dollars.

Explaining that the movie cost less than $250,000 to write, film, produce and release, Boosie got into the ins and outs of My Struggle with Vlad. Revealing that he did not pay for anything while working in Baton Rouge, Boosie said he was owed a couple favors and cashed in those favors to secure a couple filming locations.

The Louisiana native also explained that he did not “release the film hrough a major film company because he would’ve been stripped of his ownership and paid a relatively low fee,” but did say that he had a comedy coming out on Christmas day and plans to launch his own version of Netflix.

Boosie’s most recent foray into film and movies with My Struggle was a big one. With YFN Lucci, Mo3 and Quando Rondo all appearing in the trailer for the film, it was clear the “Wipe Me Down” rapper was trying to capture the realities of his time in the streets and the rap game.

Known for having something to say about anything and everything, My Struggle and the ensuing interview with VladTV has been an interesting window into a much more refined version of Boosie and, despite losing his IG page again, it will be interesting to see if the plans for a Christmas comedy and revamped version of Netflix come to fruition.

Check out Boosie saying My Struggle made a million in profits below and let us know in the comments if you’ve watched or plan to watch Boosie’s movie.

R. Kelly’s Ex-Wife Drea Kelly’s ‘Heart Is In Two Places’ Over His Guilty Verdict

Drea Kelly appeared on Good Morning Britain this week to discuss the outcome of the sex crimes trial against her ex-husband R. Kelly, saying that her “heart is in two places” as a result of the guilty verdict handed down Monday (September 27). R. Kelly was found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking, including 14 specific acts and eight counts of violating the Mann Act. Drea is “sad that it took this long,” but said that she has to “also wear the hat of a mother and an ex-wife,” unlike some of R. Kelly’s other victims.

“My heart definitely goes out to the survivors and the courage that it takes to come forward and tell the story,” she said, “But my heart breaks as a mother because this is now the legacy that my children will have to deal with and their children’s children. At the end of the day, you cannot walk away from your bloodline.”

She noted that she has the ability to more or less cut ties as the singer’s ex-wife, but that the former couple’s three adult children won’t have it so easy. “I have the ability to separate and kinda distance myself from it, but his blood runs through my children’s veins,” she said. “It’s part of their DNA and they couldn’t escape it even if they wanted to. So it’s very difficult for me to sit in that position.”

R. Kelly posted a statement on Facebook after the verdict was announced, writing, “To all my fans and supporters I love you all and thank you for all the support. Today’s verdict was disappointing and I will continue to prove my innocence and fight for my freedom.” Meanwhile, the prosecution in the trial produced a number of compelling witnesses who attested to Kelly violating the law by having fake ID made for Aaliyah so she couldn’t testify against him after a pregnancy scare, described specific sex acts committed by a 26-year-old Kelly on a 13-year-old Aaliyah, and recounted horrifying abuse at the singer’s hands.

A sentencing trial is set for May 4, 2022, as Kelly is set to go back to Chicago to face another trial on similar state charges.
