DreamDoll Shoots Her Shot At Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Megan Thee Stallion, Lori Harvey, & More On “Tryouts”

DreamDoll is finally getting some time to shine after going years as one of the most underlooked women in rap. She’s been applying major pressure on the game with her recent freestyleshopping on the “Toot That” remix with Erica Banks and promising to continue her grind. This week, one of her new music previews started picking up a lot of attention after she name-dropped just about every woman in rap, shooting her shot at them as she says she’s thinking of switching teams. Fed up with the way men have treated her, Dream says she wants to spend more time with her female friends, mentioning Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Latto, and plenty of others as her potential next girlfriend.

Much like The Notorious B.I.G. did on “Just Playing (Dreams),” DreamDoll used the same formula to unleash her latest single “Tryouts,” offering some of her time to Jayda Cheaves, Ari Fletcher, Coi Leray, and other women that are making big moves in the entertainment world. In addition to all the women she name-drops, Dream also mentions some of their respective boyfriends, including Michael B. Jordan (with Lori Harvey), and even 21 Savage (who has been linked to Latto.)

Dream has been getting a lot of positive comments about this song. Check it out below and let us know what you think of it!

Quotable Lyrics:

Somebody tell Draya I’m tryna come fuck later
And tell Rubi Rose I wanna remove her clothes
I’m tryna take Keyshia away from Gucci
On the low, yeah, I’m really tryna see if Suki got the good coochie
Real talk, I need Rihanna, all this Fenty I copped
I told her one night with me, her album never gon’ drop
I’m tryna ride my bitch Megan like a Stallion
Do the crybaby on it, have Pardi in the room like, you wildin’

Lil Wayne Attack Accuser Ordered To Submit Text Messages

Evidence that involves text messages could be what closes the case on Lil Wayne’s pending assault charge. In 2016, the “Uproar” rapper was accused of violently attacking a bouncer outside of an L.A. nightclub. The alleged attack victim, Andrew Nunemacher, claims that he was assaulted by Lil Wayne and his entourage in a violent rage.

On June 27th, 2016, Andrew Nunemacher stated he was working the door of L.A. club, Hyde Sunset, when Wayne and his crew became confrontational. While Nunemacher was working the door, he claims that the “Drop the World” rapper punched him repeatedly and hurled alcohol at him. Nunemacher further states that while he was knocked to the ground, Wayne’s crew continued their assault and proceeded to call him derogatory names.

Lil’ Wayne’s legal team denies all of the accusations presented by Nunemacher. Court documents state that the video surveillance footage from Hyde Sunset has the potential to exonerate the “I Do It” rapper of all accusations brought upon him by the plaintiff. Nunemacher maintains his statements despite the potential evidence.

Following the altercation, Nunemacher said in his court documents that he experienced civil rights violations, along with assault, battery, and premeditated emotional distress. The plaintiff’s story is allegedly inconsistent with how the incident occurred. Lil’ Wayne’s legal team stated at the time of the alleged assault, that “It was a misunderstanding,” and further claimed Nunemacher was the aggressor when he first grabbed the “Lollipop” rapper by the arm. Wayne’s attorneys also alleged that Nunemacher worked the rest of his shift without further issues or then-present injuries.

The plaintiff has allegedly made attempts to avoid the court’s order of turning in his phones for evidence. In November of 2020, after an extended delay, Nunemacher turned over two of his cell phones to Los Angeles Superior Court. One of the phones did not work, while the other phone displayed only texts from June of 2018 to the time the phone was turned over to the court. Lil’ Wayne’s legal team insists that Nunemacher’s text messages following the incident are necessary to see if Nunemacher’s statements add up. The plaintiff insisted that he did not tamper with any evidence regarding the text messages on his cell phones or the surveillance footage from Hyde Sunset

With the text messages seemingly holding the key to the truth, presiding Judge Jon R. Takasugi ordered that the phones in question be submitted to Setec, a data collection firm. He also ruled Nunemacher has 10 days following their analysis to submit the recovered messages to Lil Wayne’s team. Stay tuned for more details on this legal battle as they develop.

Juicy J Turns Up In The Studio With Rico Nasty For His Stripped-Down ‘Take It’ Video

On June 25, Juicy J will release the deluxe version of his 2020 album The Hustle Continues and by way of announcement, he shared the stripped-down video for album single “Take It” featuring Rico Nasty. The video is shot through grainy, low-fi cameras as the two rappers turn up in the studio while recording their hedonistic verses, exhorting listeners to “take it to the head / Drink it ’til you dead.” The track is vintage Juicy J, with Rico’s unhinged yell-raps providing some extra uninhibited energy to its already propulsive vibe.

Juicy has become one of hip-hop’s foremost mentors in recent years, using his veteran savvy to cultivate a younger generation of standouts which includes Logic, who provided the producer tag Juicy uses to this day and appeared on The Hustle Continues single “1995“; Flo Milli, who he’s expressed interest in producing for; Jucee Froot, a fellow Memphis native Juicy has assisted; IDK, who counts Juicy among his titular friends on IDK And Friends 2; and Megan Thee Stallion, to whom Juicy has given a ton of twerk-ready beats.

Don Toliver, Latto, And Lil Durk Remake A Southern Rap Classic With ‘Fast Lane’

Every day brings the Fast And Furious sequel F9 closer to release and Atlantic Records, the distributor of the film’s upcoming soundtrack, is doing its part to leave enough breadcrumbs to maintain fans’ excitement. The latest is “Fast Lane,” which features Cactus Jack golden child Don Toliver, Chicago drill pioneer Lil Durk, and the recently renamed Latto contributing swaggering verses to a remake of the beat from Big Tymers’ 2002 hit “Still Fly.”

Over the triumphant brass and organ combination, Durk and Latto spit defiant bars about their respective successes, with Latto calling herself “the best of the bestest” and Durk threatening “I could put some rappers all on blast, but ain’t gon’ mention them.” Don Toliver provides a melodic hook, bragging, “They say that I know magic how my whips change.”

The song is the opener from the F9 soundtrack, which drops June 17, one week before the film screens nationwide. The album will feature contributions from both pop stars like Anitta and rappers such as the late King Von, Offset, the late Pop Smoke, Rico Nasty, and many more. A$AP Rocky Dons Furry Glasses And Suit For Bottega Veneta Collection

It seems A$AP Rocky can’t stop winning in 2021. Amidst his new relationship with star Rihanna, the New York rapper is continuing his streak with a string of collaborations and upcoming events. Rocky is now immersing himself in the spotlight again, premiering an eccentric furry coat with complimentary glasses on Instagram. The green outfit, with overlapping layers of fur, comes in separate pieces straight from the design tables of high-end fashion line Bottega Veneta’s in their new Wardrobe Collection 02 collection.

After a long year of Covid-19 quarantine, which seems only now to be letting up, home-wear and sweatpants-based outfits have not only become standardized but a new creative frontier. Without in-person work or school, many swapped the formality of conventional outfits for the comfort of sweatpants and hoodies. However, as A$AP Rocky and other celebrities have shown, there is a newly energized creative force behind such outfits. This new Bottega Veneta piece exemplifies this perfectly by meshing innovation with comfort.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Provocative & Hilarious “Thot Sh*t” Video Elicits Strong Reactions

Megan Thee Stallion is among a group of artists that loves to wake the world with provocative content every time she comes around. Alongside rappers like Cardi B, Lil Nas X, and others, Megan loves to keep her name in the conversation by challenging her critics head-on. When she came through with “WAP” and “Body” last year, right-leaning politicians went absolutely insane online, spending weeks talking trash about Megan’s booty-shaking music and videos. After a short hiatus, the Houston-bred rapper has officially returned and she’s taking no prisoners on her new single “Thot Sh*t.”

The track, which was co-produced by OG Parker and Lil Ju Made The Beat, features Megan in her bag, trying out new flows and rhyme schemes. The video is the most eye-catching part of the rollout though, taking direct aim at the people who had so much to say about her last few drops.

It starts out with a Senator who leaves a rude comment on the “Body” music video, calling Megan a “whore” who should have her mouth washed out with holy water. Then, Megan interrupts the politician’s personal time to lecture him about feminism before the video takes a dramatic twist as the Senator meets his instant karma. Walking out of his office, the man gets hit by a speeding eighteen-wheeler before Megan shakes her ass and drives the truck.

The video has elicited strong reactions online. Of course, there are those who are offended by the imagery shown on screen, including the Senator’s lips converting to a vulva at the end of the five-minute display. For the most part though, people are happy that Megan is back and applying pressure.

What did you think of the video? Watch it below and check out some reactions underneath.

YNW Melly Teases A “Surprise” For Fans Amidst Rumors Of A New Album

YNW Melly is teasing “a surprise” he has in store for his fans but is tight-lipped as to what that might be. The “Murder on My Mind” rapper hinted at something new on the way with a post on Instagram, Thursday.

“I got a surprise for everyone but I’m not telling what it is,” Melly wrote in the caption of an Instagram post. “In just a matter of slime.”

While he didn’t confirm anything specific, earlier this year, the rapper teased that a new album could be expected soon and asked fans what collaborations they wanted to see on the project.

“Y’all miss me???” he asked on Twitter. “Who wants a new Melly album?? Drop what collabs yall want to see in the comments n Ima get to it.”

Melly has been in prison since 2019 and is facing the death penalty while he awaits trial for the murders of his two friends, YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy. His codefendant, YNW Bortlen, was released on bond; however, Melly wasn’t able to receive the same deal. Regardless, he’s still told fans that he’ll “soon” be back.

His last studio album, titled Melly Vs. Melvin, was released in 2019 while he was behind bars.
