Anthony Davis Listed As “Unlikely” For Game 5 Vs. Suns

Anthony Davis worked his way into the Top 5 player in the league conversation last season and after winning the title, big things were expected of the Lakers superstar. Unfortunately, he has been playing through injuries all season long, which has ultimately kept him from moving forward and playing at the level expected of him. Now that the playoffs are underway, he is needed more than ever, although unfortunately, the injury bug struck him again yesterday against the Suns.

Davis went down with a groin injury in the first half which forced him to miss the rest of the game. Davis’ status was set at “day-to-day” following the match, and since then, fans have been waiting to see whether or not he would be good to go in Game 5 on Tuesday. According to Shams Charania, Davis is now being listed as “Unlikely” to play, although the Lakers still believe he can return at some point during the series.

The series is now tied at two games apiece which means health is more important than ever before. Without Davis in the lineup for Game 5, the Suns have a huge opportunity in front of them. If they push the Lakers to the brink of elimination, the pressure will be on LeBron James to fight their way back to a Game 7.

Charles Barkley Delivers A Harsh Assessment Of The Lakers

Coming into the playoffs, many people had the Los Angeles Lakers going all the way to the NBA Finals. Despite finishing as a seventh-seed, fans felt like this team would have a great chance to fight off the adversity, if fully healthy. Through the first three games of their series against Phoenix, they seemed to be in control although that all changed last night when Anthony Davis went down with an injury in Game 4. Now, the series is tied and AD is day-to-day, which means there is uncertainty surrounding the Lakers lineup.

Last night, Charles Barkley commented on the Lakers’ situation, claiming that they are officially done. Barkley isn’t so sure they can beat Phoenix now, and even if they do make the second round, Barkley believes the Lakers are in too much disarray to make a real run.

Per Barkley:

“AD’s been out for a long time, now you’re trying to play hard basketball. He had a couple good games, but he ain’t had no time to get his rhythm and his conditioning together. Same thing with LeBron. I don’t think LeBron, at his age, can single-handedly whip the Phoenix Suns.

If Anthony Davis does not play again, they’re gonna lose to the Phoenix Suns – but, even if they beat the Suns, they got zero chance of winning the championship. These guys are not in good enough shape. They missed too much of the regular season. And like I say, you don’t just pick up a basketball in the middle of the [playoffs] and beat the good teams.”

Barkley has been proven wrong in the past, although with Davis’ issues in mind, it’s hard to argue with what the TNT analyst is saying here.

Dreamville’s Lute Holds It Down On With “Myself”

Dreamville’s Lute isn’t exactly the most prolific artist, opting to space his releases and move entirely at his own pace. Today, the North Carolina lyricist has come through with his new single “Myself,” forsaking the typical release strategy in favor of a more direct approach. At this time, the song is exclusively available on his Bandcamp page, with fans given the opportunity to pay whatever they want for a download.

Musically, the song finds Lute sliding over a vibey groove, spitting bars with the intensity of the hungry. “Life’s a challenge so for balance had to right some wrongs,” he raps. “If it don’t bring me peace, please don’t call my phone, watch your tone / n***as want so much I wish I had a clone / feeling like Tyrese — what more you want from me?” Once again, Lute proves he’s one of Dreamville’s secret weapons, and fans will certainly enjoy hearing him unleash his grievances on “Myself.” Check that one out right here, and show some love to Lute in the comments below.

Boosie Badazz Video Shooting: Suspect Charged With Murder

Boosie Badazz was in the crosshairs of another shootout– this time, the rapper was filming a video in Huntsville, Alabama when shots were fired. The crowd of people immediately ducked and ran for cover after multiple shots were heard in the video, and it has been reported that one man has passed away following the incident.

20-year-old victim Randall Strong Jr. was taken to the hospital shortly after the shooting, where he was placed in critical condition. He reportedly passed away as a result of his injuries. The alleged shooter, 22-year-old Christopher Kwan Freeman, was arrested after turning himself in. Freeman was charged with murder

According to authorities, an altercation between Freeman and Strong Jr. led to the shooting. Freeman reportedly scoured the area trying to find him before firing shots.

Boosie Badazz has made it clear that he was not the intended target of the gunfire. “AINT NOBODY TRY TO KILL ME N HUNTSVILLE AL,” he tweeted this weekend. “YALL MFS BE HAPPY TO SPREAD LIES ON ME.”

The rapper has been caught up in several public shootings in recent years. Most recently, he was struck by bullets while attending a memorial for rapper Mo3 in Dallas, Texas in November 2020. He was forced to have multiple surgeries to remove bullet fragments from his leg and in a recent interview with VladTV, Boosie suggested that he hasn’t fully healed from his injuries yet. Thankfully, he appears to be fine after this weekend’s scare.

We will continue to keep you posted on any updates to this story. Rest in peace, Randall Strong Jr.

Lil Yachty, Icewear Vezzo & Rio Da Yung OG Unite On “Plastic”

Lil Yachty has experimented with many different styles throughout the years, with Lil Boat and Teenage Emotions highlighting his ear for melody. Yet one of his most acclaimed projects in recent memory is his latest, a homage to Detroit’s thriving hip-hop scene in Michigan Boy BoatLined with plenty of notable voices from the D, Yachty has come through with some visuals from his new release, opting to highlight the Icewear Vezzo and Rio Da Yung OG-assisted “Plastic.”

Already breaking the norm by nearing five minutes in runtime, the dark piano-driven banger is undeniably hard off the bat. The video matches the energy effectively, despite being relatively straightforward. There is a bit of stylistic flourish by way of the unconventional aspect ratio, but for the most part, it’s the standard performance footage complete with support from the entourage on deck. While some might have wished “Plastic” could have gotten a bit more conceptual, the current video successfully captures the song’s raw energy.

Check it out for yourself now, and look for more from Michigan Boy Boat to drop in the near future. After all, it’s easily one of Yachty’s strongest releases in a minute and a promising stylistic direction for the Quality Control ATLien. What do you think of the new video for “Plastic?”

T.I. Laughs At Sabrina Peterson’s Request For An Apology

T.I. has made it clear– he’s not apologizing to Sabrina Peterson, the woman who spearheaded a movement bringing dozens of sexual assault, rape, and drugging allegations against the rapper and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris. Last week, Peterson suggested that she would drop her lawsuit against the couple, who she was formerly close friends with, if they apologized publicly to her. Peterson came forward and claimed that T.I. threatened her with a gun in front of her children, which the rapper has denied. As it pertains to the apology request, it’s safe to say that Tip and Tiny have no intention of succumbing to the pressure.

After attending a party at Diddy’s house with Kevin Hart, Dave Chappelle, and other A-listers, T.I. shared a picture of himself bursting into laughter, using his caption to deliver his response to Sabrina Peterson.

Some fans are behind the couple, claiming that they shouldn’t be apologizing to Sabrina or the other alleged victims for something they claim to have never done, standing up for Tip and Tiny. Others are calling out the duo for making light out of such serious allegations.

T.I. and Tiny have denied all allegations against them. We will continue to keep you updated with the latest in this developing story.

Preme Drops Off New Single “Lost Hope”

Canada’s own Preme has come through with his new single “Lost Hope,” which arrives complete with some powerful visuals highlighting the message. Tackling the topic of police brutality, Preme showcases his melodic prowess as he reflects over atmospheric production. “All I see is homicide, feel it when my momma cry,” he laments. “You know what the mission is, don’t know how I feel inside / We was always down to ride, if I slide my ni*gas slide.”

His observations continue into the second verse. “They hate to see a ni*ga on his feet,” he raps. “Probably why a Karen goin’ viral every week / That’s why the cops starin’ like food stuck in my teeth.” Despite the serious subject matter at hand, Preme keeps it moving with a subtle approach, highlighting the disturbing reality that systemic racism isn’t exclusively reserved to the United States of America. Luka Doncic Dismisses Neck Issues After Loss To The Clippers

Luka Doncic has been the key to the Dallas Mavericks’ success over the past couple of seasons. Doncic is proving himself to be a generational talent and without him in the lineup, the Mavericks simply don’t have an answer for some of the best teams in the league. Last night, Doncic was playing injured against the Los Angeles Clippers, as he was dealing with some nerve problems in his neck. With his injury hampering his play, Doncic, and the Mavs were blown out by the Clippers, who evened their series at 2-2.

Following the game, Doncic was extremely frustrated with what went down, and he kept things honest with the media. After being asked about his injury, Doncic dismissed the severity of it, stating “I don’t think that matters right now. … I played terrible, so we just got to move on to the next one.”

Game 5 is going to be a pivotal game as no matter who wins, someone will be pushed to the brink of elimination. The Clippers are clearly the stronger team here although they have choked in the playoffs before. With this in mind, Doncic and his Mavs are still in contention, and they shouldn’t get too discouraged just yet.

As for his neck, perhaps the rest in between games will help Doncic get prepared for what will prove to be the most important game of the series.
