Lizzo Has The Perfect Solution For People Who Can’t Stop Commenting On Artists’ Bodies

While Lizzo had one of the best-selling albums and singles last year, and continues to make strides as a pop and R&B icon, she still receives online vitriol. She is one of many artists who receive comments on her body, and she has seen it pan out in real time for other artists.

Today (January 6) the “About Damn Time” singer took to TikTok to offer some words for those who can’t seem to keep their comments to themselves.

“The discourse around bodies is officially tired,” she said. “I have seen comments go from ‘Oh my gosh, I liked you when you were thick. Why’d you lose weight?’ to ‘Oh my gosh, why’d you get a BBL? I liked your body before’ to ‘Oh my gosh, you’re so big. You need to lose weight, but for your health.’”

Later in the clip, she shared an idea that could possibly convince people to withhold their sh*tty comments.

“I wish that comments costed y’all money,” she said, “so we could see how much time we are f*cking wasting on the wrong thing.”

Granted, this would be ideal, however, certain stan groups would probably end up bankrupting themselves sending hate comments to their idols’ rivals.

French Montana Expressed His ‘Thoughts & Prayers’ For Those Affected In Last Night’s Shooting Incident

French Montana made the news last night after reports surfaced of an alleged ten people being affected in a shooting in Miami Gardens. At first, sources like Miami 7 News reportedly said that the incident happened on the set of Montana’s music video.

Now, today, the rapper has set the record straight — claiming that he was celebrating the release of his new mixtape, Coke Boys 6, with friends at The Licking restaurant.

Montana was reportedly not one of those affected in the shooting.

“Last night, I was in Miami celebrating the release of CB6 mixtape w/ friends at a local restaurant. We unfortunately were at the wrong place, at the wrong time when an incident took place that left people hurt. Our thoughts & prayers are w/ the victims & families at this time,” he tweeted.

“I took off running, and I was looking back, but I was like, ‘You know what? Let me just duck first, and then people started asking me, you know, ‘Can you help me?’” a witness, Ced Mogul told Miami 7 yesterday evening. “When I realized people were asking for help, there was nothing you could do about it when you got shot.”

The outlet also alleged that four victims were airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center.

“We’re still working [the scene]. Yeah, there’s multiple shots, there’s multiple cases,” MGPD detective Diana Gorgue reportedly said. “We’re still working. We can’t confirm any numbers at this moment, because everything is still fresh, and they’re still investigating.”

In an interview with Paste Magazine in August 2022, Gibbs said he identified with his character’s plight.

“I can relate to Mercury’s pain and the things that he was feeling coming from the rap game, because I can share some of those same sentiments,” he said. “

“I’m not gonna say it was easy to be Mercury because I don’t agree with his feelings all the time, but it was certain things—like the tension with other rappers, being distant from your children, things of that nature—I could add into the character because I’ve been through those things in my personal life for real.
