Dr. Dre Threatens Legal Action Against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Over Unauthorized Use of “Still D.R.E.” Congress Video

Dr. Dre's Series Rejected by Apple CEO Due to Violence

Dr. Dre and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene are currently engaged in a war of words after Taylor used Dre’s “Still D.R.E.” instrumental in a political video.

In the video, Greene is seen strolling through the halls of Congress, seemingly in a victor lap of helping Rep. Kevin McCarthy become House Speaker. Included in the video are pictures from the House floor and Greene accepting a phone call from Donald Trump.

Reaching out to TMZ, Dr. Dre clarified that his single did not receive a green light from him to be included. “I don’t license my music to politicians, especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one,” Dre said.

Dr. Dre would file a formal complaint, getting the video taken down and as a result, locking Greene out of her Twitter for using copyrighted work without permission.

In response, Greene said, “While I appreciate the creative chord progression, I would never play your words of violence against women and police officers, and your glorification of the thug life and drugs.”

Dr. Dre would follow up with a threat of legal action. His lawyer, Howard King, wrote a letter stating, “Mr. Young [Dre] has not, and will never, grant you permission to broadcast or disseminate any of his music.”

Dr and King also served a cease and desist for the music citing a deadline of Jan. 11. We’re writing because we think an actual lawmaker should be making laws not breaking laws, especially those embodied in the constitution by the founding fathers.”

SOURCE SPORTS: Bill Belichick to Return to New England Patriots Next Season

dm

The NFL Season is over for Bill Belichick, and fans wanted to know what the iconic coach will do next season. He won’t make fans hang on long, revealing he will return to the team in 2023.

The Pats lost to the Bills on Sunday 35-23, eliminating them from playoff contention. In response, Belichick laid out the plans for his next season.

“Nobody’s satisfied with that,” Belichick said to ESPN. “That’s not our goal. We need to improve on that. So that’s all of us — accountability everywhere, starting with me, the coaching staff, players, each unit. They are all things that we will address, and that process will start probably later today.”

Since the departure of Tom Brady, Belichick is 25-25 for a .500 record as head coach. He is now set to examine current quarterback Mac Jones as the quarterback of the future.

“I think Mac has the ability to play quarterback in this league,” Belichick said to ESPN. “We have to all work together to try to find the best way — as a football team, which obviously quarterback is an important position — to be more productive than we were this year.”

50 Cent is getting back into the studio. The superstar television executive will briefly depart his worlds of BMF and Power for the music studio to create a new album. To get fans more excited, Dr. Dre will work alongside 50 for the album.

50 Cent pulled up to Big Boy’s Neighborhood and revealed he got a call from Shady/Aftermath to get back into the studio.

“I got a text from [Eminem] that he had already spoke to Dre, and that Dre is in there and he got some crazy stuff for me to go hear,” 50 Cent said. “This is my process: I’ll go make something, what I can find, the best music that I can put my hands on. And when I feel real good about it, I bring it to put pressure on Dre to offer me something. ‘Cause he’ll have something… He’s always had something.”

50 Cent is also ready to expand his BMF series with multiple spinoffs. Speaking at the premiere for season 2 of the hit show, 50 tells Deadline about the transition in leadership at Starz and how excited he is about it.

“They got some really, really smart executives coming in to help rebuild Starz in the right way. And it’s exciting for me,” 50 said. “You’ll get a chance to see three spinoff shows from ‘BMF.’ It’s ‘BMF’ immortal.”

The expanded BMF series is currently in development, and the titles and details about the spinoffs will be announced later. Last month, Jackson and Starz announced the creation of Fightland, a new series based in the high-stakes, cash-rich, violent world of British boxing.

Michael Rubin, Meek Mill, and Kevin Hart Announce $7M Donation to Low-Income Students in Philly

Michael Rubin, Meek Mill, and Kevin Hart Announce $7M Donation to Low-Income Students in Philly

In order to give back to the Philadelphia community, Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, fellow REFORM Alliance Co-Chair and Grammy Award-winning musician Meek Mill, and actor Kevin Hart have announced a $7 million donation to 60 private and parochial schools in need. These schools will use the money to provide low-income students from underserved families with scholarships for the 2023–2024 school year.

Additionally, the funds will grant access to much-needed home technology, such as laptops, tablets, and WiFi.

The newest installment in Meek Mill and Michael Rubin’s ongoing commitment to help communities in need, which has resulted in gifts totaling $17M over the course of past years, is this $7M donation.

These charitable endeavors follow up on significant charitable endeavors and initiatives held at the end of 2022 over the recent holiday season. In order to provide more than 30 children who have been adversely affected by the criminal justice system and unfair probations with a special VIP experience, Rubin and Mill teamed up with REFORM Alliance, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the 76ers for the annual Season of Giving event. Meek also cleared the bail for 20 Philadelphian women so that they could spend Christmas Eve with their families.

Meek Mill Donated $7 Million To Aid Philadelphia Private Schools Alongside Kevin Hart And Michael Rubin

In January of 2022, Meek Mill teamed up with Kevin Hart and Michael Rubin to donate $15 million to 110 Philadelphia schools for the 2022-2023 school year. Now that it’s 2023, they’re supporting the city again by donating $7 million in scholarships to Philadelphia private schools.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, the money will go toward scholarships at 60 “private and parochial schools in need,” helping kids from low-to-moderate incomes. It will also go toward funding laptops, tablets, and WiFi connections.

Mill and Ruby both launched the non-profit organization Reform Alliance alongside Jay-Z in 2019, which just recently posted bail for 20 women incarcerated at Philadelphia’s Riverside Correctional Facility. “The women, who were unable to afford bail, will now be able to spend the holiday season with their families and loved ones. Five women were released today and will be reunited with their families, with the goal of 15 more women being released in the coming week,” the organization wrote on Instagram.

“For families impacted by the criminal justice system, the holidays can be an extremely challenging time,” Mill wrote in a statement. “No one should have to spend the holidays in jail simply because they can’t afford bail, and no child should be without their parents during this time if we can do something about it. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help these women be with their families and loved ones during this special time of year.”

Meek Mill is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
