Miley Cyrus Sent Flowers To Migos To Celebrate The 15th Anniversary Of Her ‘Hannah Montana’ TV Series

Miley Cyrus’ climb to worldwide recognition began 15 years ago with the Disney Channel premiere of her TV show Hannah Montana. The series, aimed at young viewers, arrived on March 24, 2006 and continued for almost five years before ending in 2011. The show undoubtedly played a huge role in her career and she even admitted that she “would love to” bring it back in some way. But until that happens, a celebration of the anniversary is in order and the singer made sure to take a moment and reflect, but not without showing love to the Migos for their 2013 single “Hannah Montana.”

The rap trio took to Instagram to reveal that Miley sent them flowers as a thank you for the song. While the lyrics weren’t about the TV show or even Miley Cyrus herself, the singer still appreciated their decision to name the song after her character, which she shared in a message attached to the flowers. “I [love] your song about me! Keep rockin’!” she wrote before signing off on the note as Hannah Montana.

Cyrus also shared a lengthy statement that about Hannah Montana that reflected on the highs and lows of the show. She also discussed important life events that occurred while filming what she took away from it when it came to an end.

Coi Leray Defends Using “Prrr” After Rolling Ray Says She Stole His Phrase

There’s a beef brewing over the word—and sound—”Prrr” and it’s confusing Rap fans. Artists and social media influencers often try to coin their own terms and phrases in order to not only stand out from the crowd but to hopefully create a new “it” word that will take the world by storm. It looks as if there is a bit of a disagreement going on between rapper Coi Leray and social media figure Rolling Ray over who was the first to make “Prrr” popular.

Rolling Ray has been purring his way through social media for a while now, and he noticed that Coi Leray often likes to say the word “purr” on her tracks. “Aw @coileray Trying steal my worddddddd… aw i hate that for her,” he wrote on Instagram to a video where he reiterated his stance. Leray decided to answer Ray with an audio message.

“First of all, I’m not big ‘purr.’  It’s not ‘purr.’ I’m big ‘prrr,'” said the rapper. “It’s a difference. Stop playin’ with me.” Leray recently engaged in a back-and-forth with her father Benzino on social media and Rolling Ray brought him up, causing the rapper to clap back. “Now n*ggas wanna bring my dad in it,” she tweeted.

“Misery loves company!! ANYWAYSS IM ONLY DOING SH*T THATS GONNA MAKE ME ELEVATE !! B*TCH !!!” Meanwhile, Eartha Kitt has entered the chat. Make sure to check out “Big Purr” by Leray and Pooh Shiesty on Friday (March 26). Check out the exchange below.

Waka Flocka Talks Supporting Teen Daughter Charlie & Her GF: “I Believe In Experience”

Season two of Waka & Tammy: What The Flocka is upon us and the Hip Hop couple are back to showing intimate moments of their lives. This season, viewers will see more of Charlie, Tammy’s daughter and Waka’s stepdaughter, as the 15-year-old prepares for her quinceanera. On the show, Charlie reveals that she wants to bring her girlfriend as her date, and cameras captured the moment she told Waka about her plans. The rapper didn’t seem phased by the news and simply told her, “Okay.”

Waka Flocka revisited the reality TV moment while chatting with the hosts of The Mix on Fox Soul. “Okay,” Waka said as he restated his original response with a laugh. He wondered what people expected him to do and mimicked what it would look like if he was, for whatever reason, upset about Charlie being apart of the LGBTQIA+ community.

He was asked what he was thinking the moment Charlie made her big reveal. “I don’t think. I don’t have expectations,” said the rapper. “The stuff you expecting is never gon’ be a hundred percent. I don’t believe in a hundred percent. I believe in experience. So, I can’t say I don’t like something or love something if I never experienced it. I approach it like a strong-minded male and it’ll run her away. I followed my wife’s footsteps like, baby just chill, just listen to her.”

It was also noted that Charlie didn’t have to “come out” because she was never encouraged to hide. Check out the full interview below.

Romeo Miller Defends Justin Bieber’s Use Of MLK Jr. Audio On “Justice”

We have received another Justin Bieber album and listeners immediately had a bone to pick with the singer. Justice has arrived in all of its glory causing another stint of Biebermania, but what fans didn’t understand was why the Canadian icon interlaced clips of Martin Luther King Jr.’s speeches with love songs about his wife, Hailey Bieber née Baldwin. Thousands have taken to social media with questions about the project and critics have penned think pieces about the topic, but Romeo Miller believes that this generation is making something out of nothing.

“All I’m saying is, why are we really mad?” questioned Miller while on Fox Soul’s The Mix. “You’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t. And that’s what this generation like, one thing that I said at an early age when I  started my career, I said, ‘Pops, I want my career to represent hope.’ I want people to look at me and know that anything is possible. I think what Justin is doing is like, he’s just trying to give back and shine that light on something where people saying, ‘Well, he has a whole R&B album about love songs. What does that have to do about Martin Luther King Jr.?’ and this and that.”

“He’s trying to actually [do] what everybody tell us to do. Use your platform for something good,” Miller added. “It’s that simple.” Miller’s co-host Jazz Anderson agreed and said that although she probably won’t ever listen to Justice, she commends Bieber for using his creative space to bring awareness.

Do you think Bieber uplifted the Black community by including MLK Jr.’s speeches?

SWV And Xscape Will Bring Their R&B Classics To The Table In An Upcoming ‘Verzuz’

The past week has been a busy one for Verzuz, and it looks like the next couple of months will be just as active. Next month, SWV and Xscape will come together for a 20-song competition, bringing some of their best songs for another great showcase of R&B’s past. Surely we’ll be hearing SWV’s “Weak” and “Right Here” from their 1992 album, It’s About Time, and Xscape’s “Justin Kickin’ It” and “Understanding” from 1993’s Hummin’ Comin’ At ‘Cha, among others.

SWV and Xscape’s battle is the latest Verzuz duel announced within the past week. Earlier Timbaland and Swizz Beatz revealed the next battle will be between Earth, Wind & Free and The Isley Brothers on Easter Sunday. Less than three weeks later, Redman and Method Man will go head-to-head in a “How High” special on April 20. The platform also promoted three themed events: “Ladies Night,” “Mother’s Day Special,” and “Rematch,” as well as two additional untitled battles. The participants for these matchups have yet to be revealed.

But there’s one high-profile artist that Verzuz almost coaxed into a battle: Dr. Dre. During an episode of The Breakfast Club, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz revealed the rap legend backed out after Teddy Riley and Babyface’s heavy-flawed battle last April. “When Dr. Dre wasn’t feeling the sound from Teddy Riley and Babyface, that hurt our heart,” Swizz said. “I was like, ‘Oh my god.’”

You can read the announcement for SWV and Xscape’s Verzuz above.
