“Who I Smoke” Is A Viral Masterpiece From Florida Rappers Spinabenz, Whoppa Wit Da Choppa, Yungeen Ace, & FastMoney Goon

If you haven’t heard Spinabenz’ latest record “Who I Smoke” with Whoppa Wit Da Choppa, Yungeen Ace, and FastMoney Goon yet, you’re seriously missing out.

The Florida rappers remixed Vanessa Carlton’s classic pop record “A Thousand Miles”, which has become a favorite for rappers worldwide. We’ve seen some viral remixes pop off in the last few years, including Cam’ron’s interpolation of the track. One of the best, and by far the most disrespectful, comes by way of the Florida rap masterpiece “Who I Smoke”.

The entire music video, directed by TeoShotThis, takes place on a golf course as Spinabenz, Whoppa Wit Da Choppa, Yungeen Ace, and FastMoney Goon look seriously out of place in preppy clothing, smoking cigars and hurling threats at their opps. The diss track uses “A Thousand Miles” as a back track, coming after deceased rappers Bibby, Teki, and Lil Nine, who the guys are supposedly “smoking” in the clip. The way the video is edited is genuinely comical, including shots of Whoppa dancing his heart out at the beginning of the song and all four guys pointing up enthusiastically to Heaven in the hook.

Watch the video for “Who I Smoke” below. We’ll be lucky to ever get this one on streaming services because it feels like they’ll never be able to clear this sample. Here’s hoping…

Quotable Lyrics

When I see you, I’ma push your sh*t back, boy
Choppa get to spittin’ through your set, we don’t fight, boy
12 paramedics couldn’t save your f*ckin’ life, boy
Rod K dead and he never comin’ back, boy
We gon’ treat this b*tch like a match, how we strike, boy

Fat Joe Explains Why He Skipped Big Pun Street Naming Ceremony

The late Big Pun recently had a Bronx street renamed in his honor, with the corner of East Fordham Road and the Grand Concourse becoming Big Pun Plaza. The unveiling of the new street sign was met with an outpouring of support, as many — including Big Pun’s family members — came together to celebrate.

It didn’t take long for some to notice that Pun’s longtime collaborator and close friend Fat Joe was not in attendance, as he was during the unveiling of Fred The Godson’s street sign. It didn’t take long for Joe to provide a bit of context regarding his absence, speaking on the situation during an Instagram Live session. “First thing is, God bless my brother, the one and only Big Pun,” begins Joe. “He got a block named after him today. If you never been to the Bronx, that’s a hell of an accomplishment. Big Pun Plaza on Fordham Road and the Grand Concourse.”

“I was watching, I was tuned in,” he continues. “Everyone on this side of Terror Squad, prayers is up for Big Pun. I seen Khaled on the notes. All of us praying for him. If you don’t have good things to say about somebody, I prefer to not say it. So me, I could not go over there, because there were people over there I just ain’t feeling. And I ain’t never going to feel. So when everybody DMs me, or says little things, yo bro — I will never stand beside these people ever in life.”

“In my life, all I have is my word,” he affirms. “My word is my bond. I never broke my word for nobody. If I shook your hand and told you it’s peace, then it’s peace. If I have a problem with you, I let you know. I’m not standing beside nobody. Talking about ‘let’s do it for Pun.’ No I’m not. When you slander me and my word and make me look crazy for two decades in the hood. I can not stand next to you. My kids ain’t standing next to you. We just ain’t doing that. We’re talking about the legacy of Big Pun, we’re talking about uplifting him for twenty-years…All we do is uplift Pun.”

“I know I might get some of you people mad, but that’s on you,” he adds, mentioning that he previously launched a Big Pun celebration event wiith The LOX, Busta Rhymes, The Beatnuts, and more. “I invited his son, who raps, to come and do Big Pun’s parts. He declines. I invited him when we big-upped Pun at Radio City Music Hall, where every rapper was there — but they declined. That’s cool. I was the bigger guy, and often. I know he was a kid when Pun passed, and he knows what’s told to him. I respect that it’s all good. Big we gotta salute the one and only Big Pun.”

The Weeknd’s Sensual “Try Me” Video Takes A Dark Turn

Whether he’s ready to put the After Hours era behind him or not, The Weeknd continues to be one of the most present artists during the pandemic, having just performed at the Super Bowl in February, announced his permanent boycott of the Grammys, and rereleased his seminal mixtape House of Balloons in honor of its 10-year anniversary. Needless to say, Abel is a busy man. Yet today, the XO artist has revisited the past once more and treated fans to an unreleased music video from his 2018 EP My Dear Melancholy,.

On the three-year anniversary of My Dear Melancholy,, The Weeknd has shared an unorthodox music video for the second track from his critically acclaimed EP, titled “Try Me.” The most notable aspect of the three-minute and 42-second video is that it is shot vertically, with an interestingly lo-fi feel.

The video starts with the XO singer-songwriter climbing into a car that’s filled with girls in the backseat sensually rubbing and touching on each other. As Abel performs the My Dear Melancholy, standout, however, things get a lot creepier, as the shot abandons him in the car to show two women hugging. One of the women unexpectedly lifts her head to reveal blood dripping from her eyes, and the shot quickly turns to the women in the backseat of The Weeknd’s car, who then appear with a supernatural glow in their eyes.

This music video went unreleased for three years, but it’s interesting to see the start of the cinematic visual direction that The Weeknd ended up fully diving into for the release of After Hours. Are you feeling the creative direction of the “Try Me” music video or should The Weeknd have kept this one in the vault?

Chet Hanks Bloodied After Ex-GF’s Alleged Knife Attack

Quavo and Saweetie aren’t the only toxic couple physically fighting, it seems. A video was recently released showing the aftermath of an alleged assault on Chet Hanks by his ex-girlfriend Kiana Parker.

As Chet Hanks attempts to popularize his “white boy summer” aspirations, the song of famed actor Tom Hanks is accusing his ex-girlfriend Kiana Parker of violently attacking him during their relationship. According to the report by TMZ, an altercation took place on January 8 between Chet and Kiana at Hanks’ home in Texas. In the video, Chet accuses Kiana of attacking him with a knife. His face is dripping with blood as cuts appear on his forehead. Kiana denies cutting him.

Parker also claims that Hanks has a history of violence towards her, filing for a restraining order in January and alleging that the celebrity roughed her up on multiple occasions throughout their relationship. During one alleged incident, Kiana says that Chet became violent after she told him she was going to leave their hotel room to go get food. She says that the actor grabbed her by her wrists and started flinging her around to keep her in the room.

Parker says that Hanks threw a bottle at her and chased her down the hallway in his underwear. She also claims that he told her that nobody would believe her story because she’s “just a ghetto Black bitch”.

As for the knife-wielding incident, Parker says that she arrived at Hanks’ home to move her stuff out. She says Chet was antagonizing her and he was actually the one to grab a knife. She took a pot, she is seen in the video, and swung it to defend herself.

“The day after Chet Hanks confronted Kiana Parker about stealing money from his credit card, while Ms. Parker was accompanied by a huge male carrying a gun she viciously attacked Chet with a knife, which caused him to profusely bleed,” explained Hanks’ lawyer Marty Singer. “It is all on video and the undisputed video tells the whole story. Her claims are completely false, fabricated and fictional.”
