Lil Tjay Set To Dominate With “Destined 2 Win” Opening Sales

Lil Tjay treated listeners to his sophomore album Destined 2 Win on Friday (April 2) complete with guest appearances from Tyga, Saweetie, Toosii, Offset, Moneybagg Yo, and more. He’s been busy doing additional press for the project, appearing recently on The Breakfast Club where he dished on the Rubi Rose drama, music keeping him out of prison, and more. The era is already shaping up to be a huge success for the Bronx-bred teenager who already earned a hit single with the 6lack-featured cut “Calling My Phone.” Based on sales projections for the project, the rapper is on pace to continue the success.

According to predictions for next week’s Billboard Top 200 data, Destined 2 Win is on pace to push around 70k copies in its first week. This is a massive opening week for the “Resume” rapper who, comparatively, pushed around 45k units of his debut project True 2 Myself in 2019.

Right now, there’s no guarantee as to whether or not he’ll debut at #1. Demi Lovato’s project Dancing With The Devil seems to be the album’s potentially sole competitor in debuting at the chart’s summit. Her album is expected to push around 45k-55k in its first week.

The chart’s last two number one albums were Justin Bieber’s Justice and Rod Wave’s SoulFly, which both moved around 150k copies in their first weeks. Either one of them could also retake the top position.

What’s your take on Tjay’s opening week sales projections? Let us know down in the comments.

Flavor Flav Mocks Boosie For Mistaken Identity Story: “Boosie Can’t F*ck With Me”

Boosie Badazz’s social media presence is a consistently reliable source for comedy gold. In one of the more recent legendary rants from Boosie, the Baton Rouge native paced around a mall as he angrily recalled an encounter with a woman who assumed he was Flavor Flav. Catching wind of the now-viral footage of the rant, the Flavor of Love star took to social media to respond to Boosie’s claims.

“Ayo check this out, I’m up here walking through the mall man and motherf*ckers is running up to me talking bout Lil Boosie,” said the reality TV legend in the Instagram story video before pausing. He continued, “I don’t look like Lil Boosie. If anything, Lil Boosie looks like me. I was here first. Nah what I’m saying? Word up.”

“Aye, I’m a big fan of Lil Boosie know what I’m saying? But Boosie can’t f*ck with Flav. Boosie can’t f*ck with Flav, you know what I’m saying,” he emphasized. “Forreal, baby, I got stats, I got stats, ya heard? Word to the bird baby,” he explained before adding he was a fan of Boosie once again.

“I like Lil Boosie though, that’s my dude, going around smacking the sh*t out of people, oh he’s a real G. But he still can’t f*ck with Flav. I got the stats, alright. Word to the bird,” he finished.

In the original video from Boosie, he seemed quite offended to be mixed up with the former VH1 King. To be fair, having your identity mixed up so assuringly would be annoying for just about anyone. Check out Boosie’s initial rant below

Matt Gaetz Got Skunked During A Britney Spears-Focused ‘SNL’ Cold Open

For much of its current season, Saturday Night Live has featured a politically-themed sketch in its cold open. In recent episodes, however, they’ve managed to do this using Chloe Fineman’s impression of Britney Spears. In its most recent episode, the NBC sketch comedy show brought back Oops, You Did It Again to “shine a light on the social pariahs of the week.”

The sketch started with Lil Nas X, whose “Satan Shoes” have riled up conservatives and caused Nike to step in and prevent the sales of the modified pairs. While Chris Redd doesn’t look very much like the rapper, he was absolutely down to twerk on a guy dressed up like “god” to even things out on the outrage scale.

Next up was Kate McKinnon dressed as a giant skunk, playing a “canceled” Pepe Le Pew. The sketch addresses some recent news that the Looney Toon was taken out of the new Space Jam, yet another example conservatives have given regarding cancel culture.

“Any good basketball film needs a horny skunk. My part was, I see a basketball in a blonde wig and I make love to it for 10-15 minutes before LeBron James says ‘Bro, that’s a basketball,’” Le Pew explained. “Not my finest moment, but the crew loved it.”

The star of the segment, however, was Pete Davidson playing suspected “sex pest” Matt Gaetz. Davidson, who had played New York governor Andrew Cuomo, another politician under fire, on the segment earlier in the year got to play a Family Guy-inspired Gaetz. Gaetz tries hard not to admit any wrongdoing, at one point comparing himself to Le Pew. Who wasn’t having any of it.

“No, I’m a cartoon skunk. You’re a United States congressman,” McKinnon said. “Be better.”

Slatt Zy Pours His Heart Out On Country-Inspired Track “Lean On”

Slatt Zy has been making some waves out of Chattanooga, Tennessee as he continues to drop songs that come from the heart, all while delivering some country vibes that fit with the Southern aesthetics that he is going for. Which each new song, Slatt Zy shows off some impressive growth and on Friday, he came through with yet another new track, this time called “Lean On.”

With this effort, Slatt Zy sings over a guitar-filled instrumental about the pain he has gone through over the years. He has seen his family members die and with the lack of support he has received, he just wants to know if there is someone out there he can depend on. The song speaks to something many people can relate to, and it is definitely a must-listen.

Quotable Lyrics:

Nobody asked me was I straight when my brother died
Nobody asked me was I straight when my cousin died
Ain’t asking for no sympathy, you better pick a side
Crying from the heart, my pain run deep, cuz they dun left me dry

Cher Doubles Down On Her Saving George Floyd Comments

We previously reported that the legendary songstress Cher had come under fire on social media for a tweet she penned insinuating she could’ve possibly prevented George Floyd’s murder from taking place. “Was talking with Mom & she said ‘I watched [the] trial of [the] policeman who killed George Floyd, & cried.’ I Said ‘Mom, I Know This Is Gonna Sound CRAZY, But.. I Kept Thinking …..Maybe If I’d Been There,…I Could’ve Helped,” penned the 74-year-old entertainer in the now-deleted tweet. Many critics on social media threw the “white savior complex” title at her for the tweet, prompting her to take social media again to double down on her comments.

Jenny Anderson/Getty Images for The Cher Show

Edited for clarity, Cher wrote on Saturday (April 4), “Wrestled With This [Twitter], Because I Thought some ppl wouldn’t understand, Or Believe an Entertainer Could have Honest emotions about a human Being, suffering [and] Dying, even if It’s Only Shown On tv.”

“You Don’t Know What I’ve Done, Who I Am, Or What I Believe. I CAN, I HAVE,& I WILL..HELP,” she continued passionately.

She added in a second tweet apologizing for her word choice, “I Just got off [the] phone With [my] Friend Karen. Told her what Happened,& Realized, You Can Piss Ppl Off, & Hurt Them By Not Knowing Everything That’s ‘NOT Appropriate’ To Say. I know Ppl Apologize When They’re In a Jam, BUT Raised back of hand TO GOD Folded hands, IM TRULY SORRY If I Upset AnyOne In Blk Community. I Know My (heart).”

Based on her follow-up explanation, it seems like the legend’s heart was in the right place with the original tweet, something many other users vocalized during the whole debacle. She could have perhaps elected to use a different name for her dependable friend, though.

What do you think of Cher’s doubling-down of her comments? Let us know down below.

Charles Barkley Goes Off On Politicians For Divisive Rhetoric

Charles Barkley has always been someone who has spoken on political issues although more often than not, he is criticized for his takes. Some people simply don’t like what Barkley has to say at times, especially when he comes through with bizarre hot takes, such as claiming that athletes should be given the vaccine first. Regardless, Barkley continues to speak his mind, and last night, that is exactly what he did during a March Madness broadcast.

In Barkley’s opinion, politicians these days are operating with the goal of making all races hate each other. He finds that their rhetoric is divisive and that all people are good at their core, but in the end, they play into what the politicians want.

“Man, I think most white people and Black people are great people. I really believe that in my heart, but I think our system is set up where our politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, are designed to make us not like each other so they can keep their grasp of money and power. They divide and conquer,” Barkley said. “I truly believe in my heart most white people and Black people are awesome people, but we’re so stupid following our politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, and their only job is, ‘Hey, let’s make these people not like each other. We don’t live in their neighborhoods, we all got money, let’s make the whites and Blacks not like each other, let’s make rich people and poor people not like each other, let’s scramble the middle class.’ I truly believe that in my heart.”

There are various people who are agreeing with Barkley’s take, while others find it to be just a tad naive. At the end of the day, politics will always be divisive and it is up to individuals to do their own research and decide what they want to believe.

Cam’ron Confesses He Scrapped A Jay-Z Verse From A Song For Payback

Cam’ron is one of the most defining voices of early 00s rap music. As a member of The Diplomats, the Harlem-bred rapper experienced commercial success and went on to earn multiple RIAA certified projects. Due to qualms with Roc-A-Fella label head Jay-Z, he eventually separated his Diplomat Records banner from the label in 2005 and signed a new deal. The rap legend recently sat down with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on the latest episode of Revolt’s “Drink Champs” to divulge more details about the frenemy relationship he and Jay- Z had at the start of the millennia, naming a specific incident where the two sabotaged each other in the studio.

While appearing on the show, Killa Cam recalled a previously confirmed story of scrapping a verse the billionaire mogul had recorded to appear on the remix of his hit “Oh Boy.” He revealed further, however, that the cut was in response to the fellow New York rapper doing the same exact thing to him in an incident involving Peedi Crakk’s single “One for Peedi Crakk” months before.

“They’re in the studio,” Cam says of studio session with Peedi. “He said he got this hot song ‘cause he wasn’t signed to State Property, I was fucking with him. He’d come to New York or whatever and I was gonna sign him. But, Dame was like, ‘That’s gonna f*ck y’all up, he from Philly,’ and all that. It’s seeming like he’s [with State Property], but he’s not.”

He continued, “So, he’s like, I’m not signed to them n*ggas, Cam, so we did the song. So, Peedi’s playing the song for Jay-Z and whoever else is in the studio. He says he’s in the studio playing it and my verse comes on and JAY says, ‘Stop it. Erase that sh*t’ and just erased my whole verse.”

Their relationship has since improved as he and fellow Dipset member Jim Jones hit the stage with Jay-Z in their home city back in 2019.

Elsewhere in the interview, he discussed being a fan of Nas despite firing shots at him, his role in the Roc-A-Fella breakup, and Hov threatening to slap DJ Kay Slay. Check out the full interview above and let us know your thoughts down below.

Rajon Rondo Gives His Honest Opinion Of Kawhi Leonard

Rajon Rondo is the latest addition to the Los Angeles Clippers and with him on the roster, it’s clear that the Clippers are looking to make a deep run and atone for all of their mistakes in the bubble last season. Rondo is an experienced point guard and come playoff time, he always finds a way to elevate to a whole new level. That’s exactly what he did for the Lakers last season and the Clippers fully expect him to bring that exact same energy.

In an interview with Rachel Nichols for ESPN, Rondo spoke about his new team and how he feels about being on the Clippers. Rondo also got to talk about his new superstar teammate Kawhi Leonard and even revealed what has surprised him about Kawhi.

“Kawhi, his passing ability is unreal,” Rondo said. “I didn’t expect him to be such a great passer and a willing passer. I said something yesterday and he looked at me and was like ‘I got it all.'”

Rondo is set to make his debut against the Lakers today and we’re sure he will be looking to defeat his former team. As for Kawhi, he now has a brand new point guard to help set up plays for him, and we can’t wait to see what kind of plays these two produce.
