Rolling Ray Joins Benzino’s IG Live To Further Taunt Coi Leray

The “PURR” saga continues as Rolling Ray, the man who accused Coi Leray of stealing “his” phrase “purr-prrr” in order to make the hit smash “BIG PURR (Prrdd),” has made yet another effort to keep the practically one-sided beef alive. After Rolling Ray releasing “BigPurrrr” (his unofficial remix of Coi Leray’s “PURR”-ridden single), the “No More Parties” artist swiftly threatened the social media figure with legal action.

However, it’s clear that Rolling Ray isn’t backing down from his position any time soon, as he most recently went on a rant on Instagram to belittle Coi’s success and flex the fact that his “BigPurrrr” is performing well without a major label push. Now, in an effort to get Coi Leray to engage with his antics once again, Rolling Ray has apparently hit one of Benzino’s recent Instagram lives to store up more drama.

In the video shown above, Rolling Ray recently crept into one of Benzino‘s Instagram lives, and after engaging with an unheard question or poll, he actually gets a quick shout out from the veteran producer, who is probably unaware of the strange beef that the social media star has with his daughter.

After getting called out by Benzino, Rolling Ray then trolls Coi Leray by promoting his “BigPurrr” single and sending her father a DM.

Do you think this is a W or an L for Rolling Ray?

DJ Khaled Buys A Massive Billboard To Announce His New Album’s Release Date

Subtlety is not DJ Khaled’s forte. The Miami collaboration connector recently finished his new album, Khaled Khaled, and to let the world know, he took out a massive billboard in downtown Miami announcing “Album 100% Done” and revealing the release date: April 30. He has not revealed the tracklist as yet, teasing the reveal in a social media post. The cover art, which Khaled also shared on his active Instagram account, features Khaled kneeling on a prayer rug in a lush, green garden, flanked by his sons wearing matching outfits.

DJ Khaled released his last album, Father of Asahd, in 2019, netting a Grammy nomination for the album’s Nipsey Hussle collaboration “Higher,” recorded just before Nipsey’s death in March of that year. The project also featured the hit “No Brainer” featuring Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, and Quavo, the Jay-Z and Beyonce collaboration “Top Off,” which also included Future, and the Outkast-sampling “Just Us” with SZA. Despite having so much star power, though, the album debuted at No. 2 behind Tyler The Creator’s Igor, prompting Khaled to express disapproval at Billboard‘s counting standards after bundle sales of his album were disallowed. A video of Khaled addressing criticisms of his commercial sound went viral when fans attributed it as an attack on Tyler, to which Tyler gave a cheeky reply on Twitter. Meanwhile, some attributed the disappointing result to Khaled’s jumbled rollout, in which many of the album’s singles were released on the same day — after the album itself had actually dropped.

Here’s hoping his next effort receives results more to Khaled’s liking — sure, it’s funny to think of him secretly being a sourpuss over essentially meaningless sales benchmarks, but personally I like the motivational speaker/ultra-positive version of Khaled because the world’s enough of a bitter mess as it is.

Khaled Khaled is due 4/30 via Epic Records. Stay tuned.

Morray Talks Following J. Cole’s Footsteps & Putting On For Fayetteville In Apple “Up Next” Interview

The South has been dominating the Rap game and while Atlanta has been a hot spot, North Carolina artists are flourishing, as well. DaBaby and Rapsody are respected artists out of the Tar Heel State, and Morray is creating a buzz with his unique blend of trap and Southern soul. He’s quickly rising through the ranks and has been pegged as the next “it” voice on the block, and Apple Music wanted to highlight his talents on their Up Next series.

Up Next takes an intimate look at elevating talent in the hopes of showcasing an artist’s motivation and inspiration. Morray has been capturing attention with singles like “Quicksand” and “Big Decisions,” and after recently being spotted in the studio with Cordae, fans are expecting much more from the Fayetteville star, including his new album Street Sermons.

“I literally cannot believe it!,” said Morray. “I really appreciate Apple for selecting me to be among the dope artists that have been a part of the Up Next program! To be able to put on for my city and bring Fayetteville to the world is just amazing man. It’s really important to me for people to know that there is hope in the hood. There’s hope in the everyday things we do everywhere around the world—we just got to find it. Feeling really honored and blessed.”

Morray is highlighted in his own Up Next feature where he details his rise in the industry, a journey that included some soul-searching as he figured out what his sound would be. “A Black man is supposed to teach himself the way of the world through the streets, that’s our narrative,” he said. “Why?… If you’re looking for an entertainer to give you the stupid sh*t, you won’t get it from me. I want to show you how to be a good husband. Be a good dad. Be a good dude. Be a good person. Why not?”

Apple Music’s Ebro Darden sang the singer-rapper’s praises. “Morray is fire,” said Darden. “True Blues, Gospel, Hip-Hop fusion…an amazing person with an uplifting spirit. Morray is what the world needs.”

Keep an eye out for the release of Morray’s debut album Street Sermons which arrives today. Watch Morray’s Up Next interview with Ebro Darden below to gain more insight into this buzzing artist.

The Game Wonders What Kanye West & Elon Musk Text About

It isn’t a secret that Kanye West and Elon Musk are pretty close friends. While it isn’t clear how often they speak to one another, they have posed for pictures together on more than a few occasions. Most recently, they met up in California at one of their homes and playfully matched their outfits, which Kanye pointed out in his tweet.

With Kanye’s presidential aspirations angling him for another possible run in 2024, rapper The Game is wondering whether Elon Musk could end up helping Kanye in his mission to become one of the most powerful people on the planet. He tweeted during his smoke session last night, theorizing on what sort of text message conversations Kanye and Elon share, joking that he thinks Kanye might secure a rocket from his buddy.

“I’m high af but I was just thinkin, this n***a Kanye could text Elon Musk & borrow a rocket,” tweeted Game with a “#DREAMBIG” hashtag. While it would be pretty difficult to borrow an entire rocket from Elon Musk, it wouldn’t be entirely farfetched to one day see this joke come to fruition.

Recently, Elon spoke about space travel, matter-of-factly saying that “a bunch of people will probably die” traveling to Mars as it becomes more available to consumers.

Do you think Kanye might scoop a rocket from Elon Musk one day?

“Joe Budden Podcast” Co-Hosts Rory & Mal Return

At the end of March, The Joe Budden Podcast underwent a substantial shake-up following the departures of longtime co-hosts Rory and Mal. While Budden himself appeared optimistic that the pair would return in time, that didn’t stop many from speculating on the nature of the split, with some fearing that they were witnessing the end of an era.

Evidently, such fears have proven unfounded. As of today’s brand new episode of the JBP, titled “Shaking The Tree,” Rory and Mal have indeed returned to their formerly held positions. Unsurprisingly, the situation is addressed throughout the three-hour-plus episode. “Me, Mal, and Joe met last week,” reveals Rory. “There was a lot of grown man feelings, it was a little uncomfortable. It was a lot of feelings for three grown-ass men in a living room.”

“When we had a conversation at Joe’s house, it was like, the business is the business,” explains Mal, around the twenty-minute mark. “We can fix that, or we can’t. But as long as respect is still in play, me personally, I feel like anything can be solved…That was part of the conversation Joe and I had when I left. I felt like there wasn’t any respect. So let me remove myself, cause I don’t know what this is anymore. I don’t know if I’m talking to my n***a or a n***a I just met. The more important thing as men is to sit down and get your feelings out.”

“We didn’t behave [as friends],” adds Joe, sparking further discussion on how unresolved tension could have ultimately derailed the podcast entirely. While there’s certainly a lot to unpack — after all, “Shaking The Tree” clocks in at staggering three hours plus — fans of the show would be wise to dive into this one, as there’s clearly a lot of ground to cover. From the sound of it, Rory, Mal, and Joe appear to have sorted through some of their more pressing issues, and it seems as if the Podcast will continue moving forward with the original lineup.

Check out their triumphant return below.
