Gucci Mane’s Artist Foogiano Has Been Sentenced To Five Years In Prison For Skipping House Arrest

Gucci Mane’s New 1017 Records roster is a man down after Foogiano, best known for his single “Molly,” was sentenced to five years in prison for fleeing house arrest, according to the Athens Banner-Herald. Foogiano, whose real name is Kwame Khalil Brown, was arrested in December of 2020 for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon but he was released on $50,000 bail with the condition that he remain in Georgia and wear an ankle monitor.

However, his ankle monitor was found on the side of a road in Barrow County and Foogiano was arrested in Memphis, Tennessee on March 11 after apparently melting the monitor and disappearing. US Marshall’s apprehended him at the funeral of fellow 1017 rapper Pooh Shiesty‘s brother, waiting until the service was over before making the arrest. According to Foogiano’s attorney Brandon Lewis, the rapper had cut his ankle monitor and fled in order to attend the birth of his son, who was due around the time he disappeared.

Foogiano learned that there was an arrest warrant out for him but decided not to turn himself in. His recently born son brings his total number of children to six. He was also named along with Gucci Mane in a wrongful death lawsuit after a woman was shot to death in a nightclub where the rappers were performing.

Foogiano is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Pete Davidson Praises Kid Cudi For Wearing A Dress On ‘SNL’: ‘I Loved It’

Harry Styles was widely praised for wearing a dress in a photoshoot last year, although some folks didn’t care for it. Recently, Kid Cudi faced a similar reaction to a similar situation after performing in a dress on Saturday Night Live. Now, Cudi’s friend and SNL star Pete Davidson has come to Cudi’s defense, saying on the Breakfast Club that he was all for Cudi’s fashion choice.

“I loved it, I thought it was great,” he said at 24:46 into the interview, which was shared today. “I think, you know, when you get criticism like that, it’s just like, ‘OK, cool. Those are people I don’t really wanna associate myself with anyway, people that are that close-minded.’ I thought it was really cool and like a cool tribute. […] I thought he killed it. I thought it was great. It was also fun to hang with him.”

He then touched on making the sketch with Cudi about “that weird little flute” that pops up in rap songs, saying, “You know me: I’ve been a huge Cudi guy forever, so getting to do a music video with him was everything. […] Cudi did a great job and it was fun. I loved it.”

While this was Cudi’s first time as musical guest on the show, it wasn’t his first time on SNL: He made a brief cameo in the “A New Kyle” sketch from 2018, palling around with Kyle Mooney after Mooney changed his lifestyle to copy Davidson. Of course, Cudi and Davidson were also famously photographed having dinner with Kanye West and Timothée Chalamet in 2019. Back in 2016, Davidson also credited Cudi and his music for saving his life.

Chris Brown’s Massive 32nd Birthday Party Got Broken Up By LAPD

Chris Brown probably woke up feeling blessed today to be ringing in a 32nd year of life, but even being a year older (and hopefully wiser!) hasn’t seemed to put an end to his constant run-in with drama.

Thankfully, we know Breezy has made it through much harder times — the photo below speaks for itself — than his most recent occasion of having his massive 32nd birthday bash broken up by the LAPD.

TMZ gave the deets as if they were in the building, setting up the scene as “loud music and cars double-parked all over Chris’ neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley,” in addition to “squad cars all over the place directing a massive traffic jam as limos and fancy cars zig-zagged their way out.” Cops allegedly showed up around 2 AM earlier today (May 6) after receiving calls from neighbors, with the “Run It” dancer’s security helping to calm the proverbial storm. TMZ sources also estimated that the overall tally of attendees peaked at around 400 to 500 guests. Mind you, we’re all still in the hopeful final stages of a global pandemic, so there’s that as well!

While it’s perfectly understandable to want to go all out for your 32nd birthday, particularly when you’re a R&B sensation with millions of diehard fans to impress, there’s also an obligation to not help this virus spread any more than it already has. Given the state of California’s current COVID-19 cases, we’re willing to bet San Fernando Valley isn’t out of the woods in the least bit. In short, at this new old age, just try and do better when it comes to your health and for the sake of others, Mr. Brown.

Do you think Chris Brown was valid in throwing a 400 to 500 guestlist party for his 32nd birthday, or should he have opted for a more pandemic-friendly gathering with close homies like the rest of us have been doing for the past year and a half? Saweetie Reveals Her Money Goals: “I Want $900 Million”

Bay Area rapper Saweetie knows what she wants out of life and she’s manifesting it. She’s taken a strong command over her social media presence, becoming one of the most popular rap personalities on the internet and earning a lot of engagement every time she posts. She’s also presently working on developing as an artist, admitting that she’s attending a camp to sharpen her skills in all areas. Clearly, Saweetie has a good head on her shoulders. As for her goals on the financial end, she’s ready to speak her dreams into existence, looking to follow in the footsteps of businesswomen like Rihanna and Kylie Jenner.

During her latest interview with W Magazine, in which she addressed the public’s reaction to her breakup with rapper Quavo, Saweetie spoke about what she aims to get out of her time on earth. When it’s all said and done, she wants to be one of the top names on the Forbes list, detailing her plan to make close to a billion dollars.

“I have goals,” explained the artist. “In quarantine, I did a lot of mood-boarding. I had mood boards for fashion, music, and lifestyle. Lifestyle would be, what kind of cars do I want to have? What kind of house? When do I want to have kids? If I want to be a fashion girl, how far do I go with that? If you want to be successful, you have to be detailed in life.” She paused for a moment and showed her phone’s screensaver to the interviewer, which reads “900 million.” “I want 900 million dollars,” she clarified. “I look at Rihanna. I look at Kylie. I look at all the girls who are working in the worlds that I’m in. I kind of averaged out the money between all these women I admire, and 900 million is the number. So if I’m having a bad day, I’m just like, 900 million, girl! Go!”

If she continues to level up and become a force in music, fashion, and other areas, Saweetie may very well reach her goals. Do you think she’ll do it?

Ja Morant Reacts After Anthony Edwards Drops 42 On The Grizzlies

Ja Morant and Anthony Edwards were engaged in one of the best battles of the entire season last night as Morant finished with 37 points, 10 assists, and 4 rebounds, all while Edwards came away with 42 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. It was an incredible night for both of these players although, in the end, it was the Grizzlies who were able to come away with the big win.

For Edwards, this was a huge game in terms of the Rookie of the Year race as many believe he should now be a lock for the award. Of course, Morant won this same award last season and he knows what it takes to prove yourself on such a massive stage. In fact, Morant took to Twitter after the game where he congratulated Edwards on what was simply an amazing performance.

Heading into this season, there was a bit of slander going around when it came to this current crop of rookies. However, they have quickly proven to everyone just how strong the rookie class is, and it seems like there are three players who could realistically end up with the Rookie of the Year trophy.

Let us know who you would pick for Rookie of the Year, in the comments below.

Joe Budden Doesn’t Think Nicki Minaj Should Drop A New Album

There has been a lot of speculation regarding Nicki Minaj and her future in music. While she will always have an omnipresent glare over the rap game as one of its living legends, the all-time great emcee has been placing a focus on her family life in recent years, announcing her semi-retirement in 2019.

Since then, we’ve lived through an entire pandemic so, obviously, the world is better when Nicki Minaj is an active artist. The Barbs (and plenty of other rap fans) have been discussing the potential for the Queen’s return in the coming weeks, theorizing that she could be coming with a new album soon. As far as Joe Budden is concerned though, he doesn’t think it’s the right time for her to drop.

Taking a contrarian stance on his podcast this week, Joe Budden butted heads with Rory and Mal, who said it might be time for Nicki to return to the game. After Mal suggested that Nicki should commence her comeback effort, Budden responded, “Did you not just hear everything we said about Khaled dropping during COVID? You want Nicki to drop right now? Nicki, I love you, I wish you and your family well, and that’s what I got.” Earlier in the conversation, Budden argued that the timing wasn’t right for DJ Khaled and he did not benefit from releasing an album last week. For what it’s worth, that exact album is being projected for a #1 debut on the Billboard 200.

Jaden has always had a passion for music, art, and fashion, so it’s no surprise he has pursued all of these things to their fullest extent. After dropping a few albums, Jaden has now set his sights on the sneaker world and sustainability. He currently has two different shoes with New Balance, in the Vision Racer and the ReWorked version of the Vision Racer. Both of these models have vegan materials and so far, the chunky silhouette has been well-received by fans.

With the shoe’s success in mind, New Balance has been coming through with some brand new colorways and this Pink offering below is one of them. As you can see in the three images, the vast majority of the shoe is hot pink although there is some white and brown mixed into the sides as a way to deliver some contrast. It is definitely the flashiest colorway to be unveiled thus far and if you’re a fan of the silhouette, these might just be a must cop.

In terms of the release date, these are coming out on May 14th for $150 USD and can be found at Foot Locker, the New Balance Website, and the Greenhouse app.
