Justin Bieber Gets Honest On “Justice” Ft. Khalid, Daniel Caesar, Chance The Rapper

While Changes was, for Justin Bieber, his addition to the R&B world, he carries a different essence on Justice. The singer has spent much of his life in the spotlight and in recent years, Bieber has become much more open with his harrowing experiences and struggles with fame. The world has witnessed a few of his mishaps, some that landed him in legal trouble, and now Bieber is ready to face his future by sharing his past.

“I just changed my priorities so that I didn’t [become] another statistic of young musicians that ended up, like, not making it,” Bieber recently shared with Billboard in a cover feature. “There was a time where I really did have my identity wrapped up in my career, but I really do have an overflow of feeling like my purpose is to use my music to inspire.”

Boosie Badazz Taps DaBaby For Hard-Hitting Single “Period”

Kicking off your early Friday (March 19) morning with a little pressure are Boosie Badazz and DaBaby. These two aren’t strangers to collaborating together; they previously shared space years ago on DaBaby’s “Baby Jesus” when he was first starting out, and the North Carolina rapper shared that he dished out $15K for the feature. It helped launch DaBaby’s career to what it is today, and now they return with their hard-hitting single, “Period.”

It seems that Boosie has been waiting on the perfect opportunity to release the track because he first spoke about it with VladTV in April 2020. “We just did a record, I’m waiting on getting it cleared,” Boosie said at the time. “I’m gonna put it on my GOAT Talk 3, [it’s] called ‘Period,’ so shout out to DaBaby.” The song has finally arrived, so stream “Period” and let us know your thoughts on Boosie Badazz and DaBaby’s latest collaboration.

Quotable Lyrics

I make you walk it out, walk it out, walk it out
Yeah, bought what I’m talkin’ ’bout
Big mouth, shock collar, two Rottweilers like Nino
Runnin’ up hundreds and cash (Woo), she tryin’ to f*ck on a rat
Please tell your p*ssy-ass baby daddy, be cool, girl ‘fore I get on his ass

Mystikal Praises NBA YoungBoy, Gives Advice About Legal Troubles

Many rappers have faced setbacks, opposition, or turmoil, and Mystikal has endured all three. From finding his sister murdered in their home to serving six years in prison to being cleared of rape charges, all the while managing a career that has earned him classic hits, Mystikal has seen it all. He recently sat down for an interview with VladTV where he detailed his experiences, and during one portion of the chat, the rapper spoke about some of his favorite artists. He named Lil Wayne, Boosie Badazz, and several others before sharing what new generation of rappers have caught his ear—and he dropped some advice, as well.

“[NBA YoungBoy is] my favorite right now, him and Lil Baby and DaBaby,” said Mystikal. While discussing YoungBoy’s continuous run-ins with the law, Mystikal added that it “goes hand in hand.” He stated, “YoungBoy, just always remember dude, you can always take refuge and take shelter in your music. That’s what he does. That why when it come out, that’s why we feel his music like that because he wear it on his sleeve.”

Aside from catching heat from fans for allegedly dodging studio time with Lil Baby and J. Cole (separately), NBA YoungBoy has been reportedly dealing with legal issues. Last month, it was reported that the rapper was being investigated by federal authorities and in October 2020 he was accused of assault. One month prior, the rapper was reportedly arrested while shooting a music video. Check out the clip from Mystikal’s interview below.

Gillie Da Kid Explains Why No One Cares If Drake Has Ghostwriters

One of the many great debates in the Hip Hop world is whether or not an artist can be considered a GOAT if they don’t write their own rhymes in their entirety. Rap and Hip Hop are about collaborations, but among certain circles, if a rapper leans on ghostwriters or other artists to help write their rhymes, it seems to negate the validity of their “best in the game” status. This issue has been argued for decades and conversations continue globally, and the topic landed in The Breakfast Club studio as Gillie Da Kid and Wallo were asked to weigh in.

“Let me just tell you something, man. Music is about going in the studio, having fun, expressing yourself. Sometimes it’s one person in there, sometimes it’s three persons in there. Sometimes it’s five people,” said Gillie. Wallo added that many of our favorite tracks had multiple writers to help pen the hit.

“Beyoncé don’t write all her music. Rihanna don’t write all her music,” said Gillie. Wallo chimed in to say that other genres of music don’t focus on who-writes-what as much as Rap and Hip Hop. Gillie added, “Guess who don’t care that Drake ain’t write that music? The woman that’s gone suck his d*ck at the end of the night.” Check out the clip of the discussion below and let us know your thoughts.

Rackboy Cam Awarded $1.7 Million In Lawuit Over YFN Lucci, PnB Rock Hit

A 2017 hit was at the center of a lawsuit. YFN Lucci’s “Everyday We Lit” featuring PnB Rock was a charting success for both rappers, but Rackboy Cam heard the single, he thought it sounded a tad familiar. According to the rapper, he’s previously released his song “Everything Be Lit,” and he told a court that he believed Lucci and Rock copied his track. According to NJ.com, Rackboy added that he had even met with the two rappers, so in 2018, he called up his lawyer and filed a copyright infringement lawsuit.

Also named in the lawsuit was “producer June ‘The Jenius’ James and Think It’s a Game Records, YFN Lucci’s Atlanta-based label,” states the outlet. It’s reported that neither PnB Rock nor James responded to the lawsuit. Back in 2019, Lucci reportedly settled out of court on behalf of himself and his label, but earlier this month, a judgment was handed down in favor of Rackboy Cam against Lucci’s collaborators.

Cam was awarded $1,447,720—it was broken down as “50% of PnB Rock and 50% of James’ writer’s royalties in perpetuity from the original song as well as a remix featuring Lil Yachty and Wiz Khalifa. The rapper also receives prejudgment interest at 6.25% per year for the nearly three-year period since the lawsuit was filed on March 13, 2018, and $4,576.82 in out-of-pocket legal costs, bringing the total to more than $1.7 million.”

The amount Rackboy Cam received from Lucci in his settlement hasn’t been shared. “I feel like it was pretty fair,” Cam told the outlet. “I’m blessed, I’m satisfied. I feel like this is a big statement for Jersey because I feel like we don’t get the credit.” Over on Instagram, he added, “This has been a very lengthy and tedious process. I’m grateful for the outcome, and I’m thankful it’s all behind me. I’m excited to get back into the studio and continue creating music for my fans.”

“I wish the best for all parties on current and future endeavors.”Check out both tracks below and let us know if you believe RackBoy Cam deserved the cash.

Cardi B Wants To Build A Billion-Dollar Brand Like Rihanna

There has been a lot of noise from Cardi B in recent days as the rapper has gone toe-to-toe with author Candace Owens. Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion’s Grammy Award “WAP” performance grabbed global attention and once again, the racy single was the center of controversy. Aside from warring with Owens over on Twitter, Cardi sat down for an interview on Stationhead where she spoke about her goals and people who influence her, like Fenty mogul Rihanna.

Cardi admitted that when she first launched her career and people asked who she admired, she would tell them no one. However, that has changed.  “Now that I’m at the level that I’m at, one of my biggest influences is Rihanna and JAY-Z,” said Cardi. “I’m not just saying it to kiss ass or anything. I just feel like they’re so influential because Rihanna comes from a country, a Caribbean country, that my parents came from and she’s a whole billionaire.”

“And every single time that I’m getting dragged on social media, people, my fans be like, ‘You know this is something that Rihanna dealt with when she first came out,'” she added. People just talking sh*t on Twitter and everything. I wasn’t really aware ’cause I didn’t use to be on social media like that when I was younger, but for her to make her business so big and be a billionaire, like, that’s what I strive to be. That’s what I want.”

“I want to be a billion-dollar woman. I want to build a huge brand. I want to be there. Not just to be recognized as the music, but like, she’s a whole f*ckin’ brand.” Listen to a snippet of Cardi’s Stationhead interview below.

J Balvin Leads A Mounting Charge In His Focused ‘Tu Veneno’ Video

Thursday marked exactly one year since J Balvin released his fourth album, Colores. The ten-track effort was a mostly solo effort from the Latin star, outside of a long appearance from Mr. Eazi on “Arcoiris,” and it eventually took home a 2020 Latin Grammy for Best Urban Album. J Balvin isn’t relishing in the success of that album for too long as the singer is already preparing his next body of work, one that would make it four straight years where he shared a new album with his fans.

While his next project remains untitled, J Balvin gifts his supporters with his second single in less than a month thanks to “Tu Veneno.” The new release is quite the focused effort as its accompanying video finds the singer leading a charge with help from a small group that surrounds him.

“Tu Veneno” arrives after he released “Ma G” before Canelo Alvarez and Avni Yildrim’s fight at the end of last month. Both songs are set to appear on his upcoming project. While these are certainly all high moments for J Balvin, a scary moment in 2020 came when he contracted a bad case of coronavirus. Luckily, he was able to weather the symptoms and recover in time for a partnership with McDonald’s in the fall.

If you look for more recent releases from the Latin singer, check out his “Un Dia (One Day)” collaboration with Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny, and Tainy, which was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at this year’s Grammy Awards.
