Rico Nasty Gets In Her Rock Bag On Love Ghost’s Haunting ‘Wolfsbane’

Rico Nasty joins genre-bending rock band Love Ghost to indulge her own hard-rock tendencies on the band’s new song “Wolfsbane.” Grinding guitars that shift from punk to metal to trap back a track that dips into folklore and horror iconography to compare being a werewolf to living with a mental health condition. That sounds heady, but between Rico’s devil-may-care demeanor and frontman Finnegan Bell’s deft songwriting, the concept holds up pretty well.

Bell explained as much to Rolling Stone, saying, “I wanted to write a song about werewolves but from a mental health perspective. I wanted to write about something that you wish you could change and you have to fight every day. But unfortunately, it’s what you become — whether that’s mental illness, demons, addiction, etc. It’s for the listener to decide.”

For her part, Rico gave an enthusiastic co-sign. “‘Wolfsbane’ wanted to get me in my rock bag,” she said. “I love when bands want to bring me into their world and let me rock out. The production behind this song is fire. It gives two different vibes when the beat switches, bringing a hard-rock element.” Longtime Rico fans will certainly enjoy her indulging her punk-rock proclivities as she does on “OHFR?” from her own debut album Nightmare Vacation, but more recently she’s been going pop with songs like “Magic.”

Mike Jones Responds To Hilarious Viral Video

We haven’t heard from Mike Jones in years but on Thursday morning, the classic Houston-based rapper was trending on social media because of a new viral video. In the clip, TikToker Israel Padilla asks random people how to get out of the hood. As two people were answering the question, a white man approached and asked what was going on.

“Stack your shit, bro,” explained a woman, advising against partying with friends (as she held a cup of alcohol in her hand).

“What you got? What’s the question?” curiously asked the man who walked up. Upon hearing that he was being quizzed on how to leave the hood, he said, “I don’t know, I didn’t grow up there. I’m down [to come to the hood] like, I like Mike Jones, fucking, I’ll get down.” He then proceeded to recite the lyrics from 2004’s “Still Tippin'” with Paul Wall and Slim Thug.

The two people that were answering were clearly feeling his energy, hyping him up as he continued to sing the lyrics.

In the caption, Israel Padilla joked that he “he ended racism” with his lyrical display.

As people continue to react to the funny video, “Mike Jones” started trending on social media. The rapper seems to be a fan of the clip, retweeting it to his own page a few moments ago.

“Wow this Crazy! @xxl Can somebody find the dude that spit my verse , & have em DM me,” asked Mike Jones on IG. “Gotta show em love on LIVE or something , cuz that was [100] & came out of no where‼️ let’s me kno and hopefully let y’all kno , that real music can’t & wont die!”

DJ Khaled Is Still Seeking An Eminem & Dr. Dre Collab

When it comes to checking off artistic bucket lists, few can boast as many filled-in boxes as DJ Khaled. The affable mogul (who only breaks character when his album doesn’t secure a top chart position) is truly accomplished as far as collaborations go, having connected with no shortage of hip-hop heavy hitters.

Throughout his extensive career, Khaled has worked with JAY-Z, Nas, Lil Wayne, Drake, Migos, T.I, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Jeezy, Nelly, The Game, Kanye West, Scarface, DJ Premier, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and many more. Yet there are a few prominent emcees who still elude Khaled, and to this day, the Khaled Khaled artist is on the hunt to lock in a collaboration with one of rap’s greatest duos of all time.

During a recent interview with US Weekly, Khaled was asked about his remaining dream collabs, prompting the producer to once again look to Eminem and Dr. Dre. “I’ve worked with almost everybody I’d be willing to work with,” he admits. “I want to work with Dr. Dre. I’ve worked with Dr. Dre on Rick Ross’ project, but I never worked with him on one of my projects, which I’d like to work with him on. I never recorded with Eminem, I’d love to make a record with Eminem.”

Seems like the perfect opportunity for a two birds, one stone type of scenario. And if there’s ever been a time for that to manifest, it’s now. Eminem and Dre have been relatively active on the collaboration front, having reunited at long last for several tracks on Em’s Music To Be Murdered Byboth Side A and Side B. They also recently connected with Kanye West for a remix of “Use This Gospel,” though the track has yet to see the light of day.

We wish Khaled the best in his quest to lock down a collab with Eminem and Dre. If that doesn’t come to fruition, they’re not the only names left unchecked on his bucket list. As he tells it, he’s also ready and willing to connect with Andre 3000 and Adele, though the former is even more elusive than Em and Dre. Check out Khaled’s entire talk on potential collaborations below.

Pop Smoke “Faith” Tracklist Features Revealed: Kanye West, Future, & More

Pop Smoke has a new album releasing tonight, and his team has put together an impressive tracklist to complete his second posthumous body of work. Following up his debut album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon, the Brooklyn drill superstar will continue his legacy with Faith, a new album that includes twenty songs from the late rapper, featuring some of music’s most influential talents.

Implementing an impressive rollout strategy by having fans scan QR codes on public posters and scratch off virtual lottery tickets to figure out the tracklist, Pop’s estate has officially confirmed the tracklist for Faith. The album contains only a few solo records; for the most part, Faith is filled with star-studded features. Most interestingly, Pop has multiple collaborations with Pusha-T on this record, with one of them also including Kanye West. The song is rumored to come from one of the Donda recording sessions.

Rick Ross, 21 Savage, Future, 42 Dugg, Lil Tjay, Swae Lee, Takeoff, Chris Brown, Pharrell, Kid Cudi, Kodak Black, and others are also featured on the album. Perhaps hinting that a pop banger could be on the way, there’s also a song with Dua Lipa on the tracklist called “Demeanor.”

While he may have executive produced Pop Smoke’s first album, 50 Cent reportedly does not have any involvement in this album

Check out the official tracklist below and let us know if you’ll be streaming Faith at midnight.

Hospitalized First Lady Of Haiti Shares First Photos Since Her Husband’s Assassination

Last week, on July 7, 2021, Haiti’s President Jovenel Moïse was shockingly assassinated, sending the country into a “state-of-siege” for the next 15 days. According to CNN, all borders to Haiti are closed and martial law is temporarily imposed, as Haiti’s military and the Haiti National Police (HNP) have been empowered to enforce the law following the country’s extreme political disruption.

Jovenel Moïse’s wife, Martine Moïse was also shot and injured during the attack on her husband’s life last week, and she was subsequently transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami for treatment. On Sunday, Haiti’s First Lady shared a voice message via Twitter in which she mentioned the traumatic incident that she had recently experienced and urged the country to stay on the right path.

According to the New York Times (who translated her voice message), Martine Moïse said, “In the blink of an eye, the mercenaries entered my house and riddled my husband with bullets….I’m crying, it’s true, but we can’t let the country go astray.” She also condemned those “who want to assassinate the president’s dream, vision and ideas for the country [and] do not want to see a transition in the country.”

Days later, Martine Moïse has returned with a visual update on her current condition, as she remains hospitalized in Miami. Although she looks upset in the picture, the tweet’s message is contrarily full of gratitude.”

“Thank you for the team of guardian angels who helped me through this terrible time,” Martine Moïse said. “With your gentle touch, kindness and care, I was able to hold on. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

Stay tuned for more information regarding Martine Moïse and the overall wellbeing of Haiti.

Machine Gun Kelly Says Megan Fox Made Him Realize “Who I Am”

Machine Gun Kelly says that dating Megan Fox has helped him realize “who I am.” Kelly discussed his relationship with the iconic actress during an interview for the August 2021 issue of GQ.

Kelly, who has gone through numerous style changes throughout his career, has evolved from an underground Cleveland rapper to a Hollywood rockstar.

“This was partly to do with the costumes,” he explained to the outlet. “I still was trying to be somebody else, and now I’m kind of like, ‘I’ve found who I am.’ It took me having a partner to realize that who I am on the red carpet is also who I am in the house now.”

Additionally, Kelly says he is living his dream and cites being named the Top Rock Artist at the Billboard Music Awards as evidence.

“You know what the dream was? It was exactly what happened to me [this weekend], which was to go to an award show, shut down the carpet, go onstage, accept an award,” Kelly told GQ.

“I saw a British GQ article that came out this morning that basically was like, ‘Despite the fact that BTS was there, the Weeknd was there, Drake was there, the talk of the show was [us],’” referring to himself and Fox.

Pouya & Kxllswxtch Set The Dancefloor Ablaze With “Burn”

These days, rappers are becoming increasingly unafraid to experiment with different genres, with the SoundCloud hip-hop scene being among the most flexible in that regard. Today, Pouya and Kxllswxtch have connected to release “Burn,” a CRONiK-produced track that finds them trying their hand at a sort of dance-rock hybrid.

Over an uptempo blend of chugging guitars and crisp drums, Pouya and Kxllswxtch set a tone with a catchy, infectious melody. Though certainly different from what one might expect, it’s genuinely well done, with both parties sounding comfortable over the live arrangement. It’s likely that this song would translate quite nicely to the stage, especially with a full band backing both vocalists.

Of course, those who remain unwaveringly rigid in their tastes will likely find no pleasure here. For those who do enjoy a bit of experimentation, however, give Pouya and Kxllswxtch’s “Burn” a spin.

Dark like a silhouette, alright, alright
Just wanna lie down
Just the world is burning right now

Tyler Perry Urged To Hire New Writers After Cringe “Sistas” Scene

A scene from a recent episode of Sistas has gone viral on social media, and people are clowning Tyler Perry for the script. A breakup scene was in full swing but what looked like it was about to be a toxic split ended up becoming a hilariously comedic moment, which included an actor stating that the relationship could never work because of his two dads, his feminine side, and the fact that he likes getting his prostate “tickled.”

In the past, Tyler Perry has admitted that he doesn’t have a writer’s room for his shows. He does all of the work himself, so there’s only one person we can blame for this ridiculous scene, and that’s the billionaire entertainment mogul himself.

“Let’s just end this,” says the actor to his girlfriend. “I’m just too much for you. Me, my two dads, me being in touch with my feminine side, my lace underwear, hell, even me liking my prostate tickled!”

Wait, what??? Why did we go there?

The character is played by Anthony Dalton, who surely won’t be hearing the end of this anytime soon. Twitter has been having fun with the clip, making fun of Tyler Perry for writing this dialogue and questioning why he chose to include this in the final episode. At least it made for a funny moment!
