Trippie Redd & Lil Uzi Vert Team Up On “Holy Smokes

We’ll soon receive a new album from Trippie Redd and he’s back with another single that is slated to appear on the record. Since 2017, we’ve received a project from Trippie Redd every year, if not more: A Love Letter to You,  Life’s A Trip, A Love Letter To You 4, and Pegasus. We’ll soon receive Trip At Knight, and following his Playboi Carti-assisted single “Miss The Rage” that Trippie shared back in May, the Ohio rapper returns with “Holy Smokes” featuring Lil Uzi Vert.

Trippie hasn’t been silent regarding his admiration of Uzi, and in February when he sat down with Flaunt magazine, he spoke about being inspired by his friend. “I look at him as one of the OG young guys, I really admire what he does for the culture,” said Trippie. “I really pay attention to what he does.”

“Holy Smokes” has a Pop-inspired appeal that may transcend fanbases, so stream the single and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyics

Throwin’ money up like I’m nauseous
Baby girl, I’m exhausted
Baby, be cautious
Know the streets be talkin’
Every day walk with a check and I’m motherf*ckin’ talkin’
Every day making money every way, hang with them bosses

Funk Flex & King Von Add Polo G To “Lurkin (Remix)”

Seven months after releasing “Lurkin” featuring a posthumous look from the late King Von, Funk Flex has returned with a remix. The famed Hip Hop DJ has been steadily releasing new single after single as he prepares for his forthcoming album to hit streaming services, and on Friday (July 16), Flex officially announced the rollout season for his next project, Funk Flex Presents: The Curation 001. It’s reported that the record will arrive before 2021’s end.

On the remix to “Lurkin,” Flex taps hitmaker Polo G for additional vocals, and it’s an impressive look from the No. 1-charting rapper. A press release stated that Flex decided to move forward with this remix because he wanted to continued to honor King Von’s legacy, and having Polo G assist was the perfect fit.

Like many of Funk Flex’s other releases, “Lurkin (Remix)” arrives with a visual that shows him alongside both Von and Polo G on the streets of New York City. Stream “Lurkin (Remix)” and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

If I’m comin’ in your club, then I brought the Glock
Opps pull up, they won’t make it out the parking lot
My lil’ n*gga keep shootin’ ’til his target drop
Treat his head like a cig when we spark his top
I be feelin’ like I’m still in the field
Pipe clutchin’ while I’m whippin’ the wheel

Normani & Cardi B Strip Down In Sexy Visual To “Wild Side”

The last time we received a summer collaboration from Cardi B, it came with the assistance of Megan Thee Stallion. Soon, “WAP” took over airwaves and social media, followed up by a viral dance that helped the track reach the top of the charts. This week, Cardi shared that she had a surprise in store, and yesterday (July 14), both she and Normani revealed that “Wild Side” would arrive Friday (July 16).

The artwork to Normani’s latest single showed both ladies posing nude with only hair extensions to cover them, and the racy photo got fans talking about what could be expected from these two. Normani shows off her harmonizing skills on”Wild Side” and the Pop-R&B star spices things up with Cardi coming in with her usual explicit bars.

The pair teamed up for a sexy visual where Normani displayed her dance skills over the Aaliyah-inspired production—and both the singer and Cardi B take it all off. Watch the music video for “Wild Side” and let us know your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

I wanna drive you crazy
Pull up inside me, baby
F*ckin’ it like oopsie-daisy

I need you to follow up like you skatin’
Shoot your shot I’m impatient

Drakeo The Ruler Isn’t Sure About Noodle-Tasting Chips On “Snack Review”

We’re back with another installment of Snack Review, this time with California’s very own Drakeo The Ruler. The Los Angeles rapper has been hard at work preparing for his next release So Cold I Do Em 2, a follow-up to his 2016 release, which he recently shared will arrive in September. As fans await the album, Drakeo caught up with us to put a few snacks to the test as he was presented with several chips and candies that he’s never tried before.

He kicked things off with Japanese KitKats that he believed were white chocolate and wasn’t too impressed as he gave them a six out of 10 rating. Drakeo was excited for the Koikeya Karamucho hot chili chips that he said tasted “like noodles,” and although he called the Japanese snack “weird,” he continued to eat them while laughing about the soup-like flavor.

Drakeo The Ruler, Snack Review

Next up was the traditional Japanese candy Botan Rice, and after struggling to get it out of the wrapper, Drakeo The Ruler quickly gave the candy a score of “zero.” There were several funny moments when Drakeo couldn’t tell what the snacks actually were, including what he believed were chocolate-covered grapes. The Pop Rocks Easter Bunny Chocolate threw Drakeo for a loop because after he bit into it, he scared himself when he thought he saw something moving inside. He had to laugh at himself for that one.

Watch Drakeo The Ruler taste test delectables from around the world above and make sure to stay tuned for the second part of his Snack Review in upcoming days.

21 Savage And Metro Boomin Run A Risky Business In Their Video For ‘Brand New Draco’

21 Savage and Metro Boomin made fans wait more than four years to get a sequel to their Savage Mode project. The effort finally came in October 2020 and as opposed to the first installment which was a mere mixtape, the second edition came as a full-length album, one that was met with acclaim and positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Nearly a full year after Savage Mode II was released, 21 Savage and Metro Boomin continue their promotion of the project with a video for “Brand New Draco.”

The new visual hones in on 21 Savage’s humor while keeping his menacing raps, which often cross into dark territories, intact. The Atlanta rapper steps into the role of a financial advisor who promotes his new $DRCO stock. Promises of monetary success are made with the help of testimonies from DJ Khaled, Bow Wow, Shaquille O’Neal, and more. However, it’s all a facade as the company 21 Savage and Metro Boomin built together is forced to quickly disband before law enforcement raids their office to arrest them for an unknown crime.

The video joins “Glock In My Lap,” “My Dawg,” and “Runnin” as other songs from Savage Mode II to receive the visual treatment. On a more recent note, 21 recently signed as a headlining act, along with North Carolina rapper Morray, for J. Cole’s The Off-Season tour.

You can watch the video for “Brand New Draco” above.

Savage Mode II is out now via Epic Records and Republic Records. Get it here.
