Travis Thompson Shares “BLVD BOY” Album

Seattle-bred hyphenate Travis Thompson has returned with his third studio album, BLVD BOY. The new effort finds the underground mainstay sparring with the formidable likes of Juicy J, Westside BOOGIE, G-Eazy, KYLE, and Kota The Friend.

The 14-song outing follows up on 2019’s Reckless Endangerment and makes a case for Thompson continued expansion as a favortie among ctalogs.

“I know every artist says “’his album is a collection from my old albums,’ but I swear to God each song is a leveled-up version of the shit we’ve been doing- but in a whole new way,” Thompson told Flaunt ahead of the release this summer. “What we’ve always done has been super fan-driven and cool for us- but I feel like now we not only have the best version of that now, but new versions of my music that has legs now to really be something crazier than ever before. We’re making songs that slap at parties, in the car, at night alone, wherever you play them. And I’m just more grown-up. I feel like for a long time I was a kid fresh out of high school who was just excited to be a rapper. A lot of shit has happened in the last two years where I’ve had to grow up, and face myself in new ways. So the music reflects that. “

Tory Lanez Says “Black Kings” Are Under Attack Following Rolling Loud Appearance

Following a controversial appearance at Rolling Loud in Miami, earlier this week, Tory Lanez says that “Black kings” are under attack and warned his fans not to join in on it.

“Don’t let all of our black kings get extinct before you release it was you who helped,” he wrote on Twitter, early Saturday. “There is def an attack on the BLACK MAN’S LEGACY . Don’t be apart of it.”

Lanez’s tweet comes days after he was brought on stage by DaBaby during his Rolling Loud set. The performance was controversial for a number of reasons– most notably a homophobic rant from DaBaby, which he subsequently made worse after the fact, but also because Megan The Stallion had performed just prior to DaBaby’s set.

Megan accused Lanez of shooting her, last summer, and recently started beefing with DaBaby after he collaborated with Lanez on the single, “SKAT.”

“When did rap get so politically correct that u can’t speak your mind and have an opinion …. why the fuck was rap started ?… for us to speak our mind …. rappers will not always be right, and u don’t have to agree . But they have a right to speak their mind,” Lanez tweeted earlier this week, seemingly in response to the uproar surrounding DaBaby’s Rolling Loud performance.

42 Dugg Delivers A Homophobic Response To Those Who Took Issue With A Video Of Him And His Son

The last week saw a number of instances of homophobia in hip-hop world. The biggest example is DaBaby’s bizarre rant at Miami’s Rolling Loud festival, where he also targeted people with HIV/AIDS. He was torched for his comments, but some, like Boosie Badazz and T.I., chose to defend the rapper. Now, Detroit native 42 Dugg has joined the list of rappers who have recently shared homophobic comments.

On Friday, Dugg posted a video of him and his son. In it, the rapper can be seen licking and kissing the boy’s neck and shoulder area. A number of people on social media felt that Dugg’s actions towards his son were inappropriate. After catching wind of the comments, the rapper took to his Instagram to fire back at his critics.

“Ain’t nobody going for that gay ass h*e ass sh*t y’all on,” he wrote. Y’all [quick] to get on some gay b*tch ass sh*t but when a n**** jump down on one you h*e n****s and call somebody out we homophobic. Don’t nobody give a f*ck about that sh*t. Y’all don’t [know] us. He added, “Quit tryna shove that sh*t down n****s throats. Ah gay n**** ah be on national tv tonguing down another h*e ass n****, but that’s ok though. Y’all or no motherfucker on earth ain’t finna make me like sh*t ion like and if y’all don’t like me f*ck y’all get wit me. Keep my son out y’all mouth flat out.” He concluded the post by writing, “Suck my d*ck you gay b*otches.”

The Detroit rapper’s bizarre rant comes after he shared a jittery video for “Turnest N**** In The City” and joined Flo Milli, Pooh Shiesty, and Rubi Rose for an XXL Freshman cypher.”

42 Dugg is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Kyle Lowry Sweepstakes Gets New Frontrunner

After winning a title with the Toronto Raptors back in 2019, Kyle Lowry finally got the credit he deserves as one of the best point guards in the entire NBA. Due to the fact that Lowry plays in Canada, he simply hasn’t received the same shine as his peers. Despite this, he has risen above the crowd and has solidified himself as a player that will most likely have his jersey retired in Toronto. In fact, he’ll probably even get a statue, all things considered.

Despite this, Lowry is now a free agent and he is looking to make a splash outside of Toronto. There are various teams who want Lowry, including the New Orleans Pelicans, Miami Heat, and the Dallas Mavericks. The Lakers wanted Lowry too although now that they have Westbrook, Lowry is no longer in the cards.

According to Mavericks reporter Grant Afseth, the Miami Heat are now the frontrunner to sign Lowry. The Raptors star wants upwards of $30m million per year and the Heat have the money to make it happen, especially if they let go of Goran Dragic. Miami is an ideal destination for Lowry, who has experienced the cold winters of Canada for the better part of an entire decade.

Afseth also reported that the Pelicans and Mavericks still want Lowry, although, at this point, it seems pretty clear that Lowry would most likely go to the Heat if given the option.

With free agency beginning next week, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest news from around the NBA.

Emma Stone Reportedly Considering Suing Disney After Scarlett Johansson’s Lawsuit

Some actors and actresses negotiate their deals so that they get bonuses when the films do well. Big Marvels films typically have deals in place like this. Recently, Scarlett Johansson sued Disney for releasing Black Widow on Disney+ and in theaters at the same time. The actress is suing for lost money she could have made if the streaming release was pushed back not to coincide with the theater release.

To maximize these receipts, and thereby protect her financial interests, Ms. Johansson extracted a promise from Marvel that the release of the picture would be a ‘theatrical release,'” the suit reportedly states. “As Ms. Johansson, Disney, Marvel, and most everyone else in Hollywood knows, a ‘theatrical release’ is a release that is exclusive to movie theatres. Disney was well aware of this promise, but nonetheless directed Marvel to violate its pledge and instead release the picture on the Disney+ streaming service the very same day it was released in movie theatres.” Disney responded by stating, “There is no merit whatsoever to this filing. The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Now, it is being reported that Emma Stone is “weighing her options” when it comes to suing Disney as well. She starred in this summer’s Cruellawhich was also released to streaming services and theaters at the same time.  In his newsletter What I’m Hearing…, former Hollywood Reporter editor Matthew Belloni claims that Stone is, “said to be weighing her options,” while Emily Blunt is, “likely watching the Jungle Cruise numbers closely this weekend.” Patty Jenkins, Judd Apatow, Denis Villeneuve, and more have rallied against same-day streaming releases.

Toosii Grows Up On “Same As I Used To Be”

Toosii’s glow up in the past couple of years has truly been impressive. The 21-year-old high school football player turned XXL Freshman  achieved in two years what many artists only dream of. In his new album, Thank You For Believing (The Manifestation), Toosii proves that his fans put him here for a reason. On “same as I used to be”, Toosii reflects on this expedited road to stardom with an impressive array of melodic flows.

Found somewhere between Future and Lil Tjay, Toosii’s vocal tone and melodic choices always make his tracks easy to sink into on first listen. On “same as I used to be”, he employs these eccentric vocal riffs across the chorus and bridge as he describes the new man he’s become and  his disdain for those who aren’t there for him. This is all done over an elegant arrangement of guitar and piano sections.

“Still got the keys to the old whip, but life smooth like butter/ Still got the keys to the old whip, but I use my other,” Toosii repeats as he recognizes his newfound status while taking with him the lessons of his past. The North Carolina artist still has time to flex, though this time around he’s a bit more somber as he tries to find his place in an unfamiliar world.

Check out the track below:

Quotable Lyrics:

Still got the keys to the old whip, but life smooth like butter
Still got the keys to the old whip, but I use my other
I’m tryna test drive the Lambo’, end up in the hills somewhere
Lost, I got God, I know He’ll be here, yeah

LeBron James Fondly Recalls Being Booed By Warriors Fans

LeBron James is easily one of the most hated athletes in the world, and it partly has to do with the fact that he is the biggest. When you excel at something, there are typically going to be a lot of haters that come with that. LeBron has seen this more than anyone in the entire NBA, and he’s going to have to endure it all the way until he retires. Of course, as a professional athlete, LeBron has been able to filter out this hate all while allowing the energy to fuel him further.

When LeBron was first drafted into the league, he was heralded as the second-coming of Michael Jordan, and right away, this made fans defensive. He was consistently booed by opposing fanbases and despite all of it, he still managed to put up some godly numbers.

Recently, a LeBron James fan account posted a throwback video to 2004 when LeBron had to play at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. In more recent history, LeBron has a storied history with Oracle fans, although, in 2004, the energy was still the same. Despite all of the boos, LeBron had a monstrous game that included 29 points.

LeBron caught wind of the throwback post and took to his own Twitter account where he explained that the boos are one of the things about basketball that he truly loves. “Been getting boo’d for quite awhile now. I love this game!” LeBron wrote.

Now, Oracle is no more as the Warriors are now operating out of San Francisco. Regardless, we’re sure LeBron has both fond and not-so-fond memories of that historic arena.
