J Prince Says He Believes Drake Reconciled With Ye Because He Saw ‘The Bigger Picture’

Tomorrow night, Ye and Drake will take over the Los Angeles Coliseum for their benefit concert for Larry Hoover, a Chicago gang founder currently serving a 150-200 year sentence for a 1973 murder. The show will be available on Amazon platforms and in IMAX theaters. However, it wouldn’t be happening without the rappers’ decision to set aside their differences, ending the beef they’ve had for the past three years. Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J Prince had a huge hand in helping Ye and Drake patch things up, but in a new interview with Billboard, he sets the record straight on how it went down.

“I painted the bigger picture to Drake,” Prince explained when he was asked why he thinks the two rappers met at Drake’s Toronto mansion late last month. “I let him know that this is a moment and movement that can save lives. I believe by Drake and Kanye being an example, as two of hip-hop’s top artists, that lives would be saved.” He continued, “I believe this is going to be imitated and it’s important to be an example to those that look up to you and that meant something to Drake — just the life-saving event wrapped around putting the spotlight on injustice, prison reform, and my brother Larry Hoover. Everything is icing on the cake after that, because he never envisioned things like that.”

Prince also made sure to note that he did not pressure or “force” Ye into setting aside his differences with Drake for the benefit concert. “It was an interesting conversation, but the furthest thing from the truth regarding any kind of force,” he said. “I heard all kinds of rumors, and that was the furthest thing from the truth To me, that moment was what I called an ‘anointing moment’ — because none of it was planned. It wasn’t planned where we had that meeting in that particular church, but me being a man of God, I couldn’t deny the invitation to actually meet him.”

The concert will kick-off at 11pm EST / 8pm PST on Thursday and stream on Prime Video, the Amazon Music app, and the Amazon Music Twitch channel in addition to IMAX theaters.

Lamar Odom Details Leaving Sabrina Parr: “The Relationship Was Abusive”

There was a time when Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr boasted about their romance. Like many other celebrity couples, they posed for photos, were photographed by the paparazzi, teased a potential reality show about their relationship, and even announced their engagement. After suffering through a harrowing journey of addiction and a near-death overdose, people were happy that Odom was able to bounce back with a new love.

However, the relationship was fraught with issues and when it crumbled, Odom and Parr engaged in a scathing war of words on social media. They haven’t been together for some time, but Odom decided to pen a message amid the anniversary of when he left Parr.

“A year ago yesterday I left my ex fiance’ at the W Hotel in Atlanta without notice,” he wrote. “When she realized I was gone back to my home in San Diego she was livid. I received over 250 calls and text messages over the course of last December from her wanting to fix us. We were toxic. Independently and collectively. Leaving broke my heart but saved my soul. The relationship was abusive.”

Many times I wanted to go back because-the dysfunction in me was addicted to the abuse. The addict in me hated being alone, the man in me wanted a pretty face to wake up to, it was hard. Late nights and early mornings alone wears on a brother. I sought solace in marijuana and a slew of random women, not loving any of them, not really wanting to be with any of them, but it beat being lonely.

Odom added that he had a team who helped him with his “fresh start” and he knew that the changes he needed to make were for him, not anyone else. “Today, I am free. Drug free. Pornography addiction free. Marijuana free. Relationship free,” he said. “I am rebuilding a relationship with myself. With my family. I am focused on my faith. My growth. My brand. I am a legend. I own that. I am a recovering addict. I own that too.”

Quotable Lyrics
Fuck all the diss, just look the fit
I got Palm Angels on my body
All day, I don’t sip no coffee
Shorty wanna fuck, put it through
That’s bossy, that’s me
I’m lactose but I eat cheese
I smoke weed ’til I got to sleep
I make beats, I don’t cause beef

Tory Lanez Stops Fight At Concert By Singing To Arguing Fans

Artists are becoming much more aware during live shows of what is happening in their audiences. It is true that performers interact with the crowd as they feed off of the energy of their fans, but the tragedy that occurred at Astroworld has forced artists to become hyperaware of their surroundings. Travis Scott has been on the receiving end of not only backlash but billion-dollar lawsuits brought on by thousands of Astroworld attendees.

In recent weeks, we’ve seen artists taking the time to stop their show in order to check on their fans who seem to be in trouble in the crowd, but Tory Lanez faced a different problem when a fight broke out during his performance.

The singer-rapper is preparing for the release of his 1980s capsule Alone At Prom and as usual, Lanez has been taking to stages to help hype the record. A TikTok user shared the moment as Lanez addressed the scuffle by singing to those involved.

“Please, no fighting,” Tory sings to the crowd. “While I’m singing this sh*t, no fighting.” Then, he went from belting out instructions to telling them to stop throwing hands. “Tell my man right there no fighting. Aye, c’mon. No fighting.” He went back to singing, and this time touched on his legal issues.

“I’m already dealing with enough sh*t. I’m already dealing with some tough sh*t. I’m not trying to catch another case in this b*tch. Just chill,” he sang. Check out the clip of Tory Lanez regaining crowd control below.
