Megan Thee Stallion Dedicates A Houston Humanitarian Award She Won To Her Late Grandmother

This past weekend was busy for Megan Thee Stallion. The rapper graduated from Texas Southern University and celebrated with fellow classmates and administration at the HBCU, as well as her rap peers and fans online. “Meg Thee Graduate I know my parents are looking down on me so proud,” she wrote in an Instagram post alongside a blue heart emoji. “Thank you everyone for all the love today.” The following day, she was honored by her hometown of Houston with the 18th Congressional District Humanitarian Award, which she dedicated to her late grandmother.

“I’m so honored,” Megan said before adding that she was very serious about the “responsibility to take care of the city that took care of me.” She continued, “My grandma always taught me to be kind and giving. I learned that from her. I was raised by very giving women. So I want to dedicate this award to my grandma because she taught me to be the woman I am today.”

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee also spoke about Megan receiving the award during the ceremony. “This award has not been given out often, or … to many,” she said. “When this award is given, it has that special promise and special history. … The Hero Award is wrapped up in humanitarianism. It means that you have exhibited humanity and you have helped without asking.”

Kim Kardashian Doesn’t Believe She Can Reconcile With Kanye West

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were once considered couple goals but their marriage has deteriorated in the public eye. Kim filed for divorce earlier this year following Kanye’s failed run for president and numerous Twitter rants. However, in recent weeks, Kanye’s made several attempts to win back his ex, especially after the rumors of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s apparent relationship.

Last week, Kanye West hit the stage with Drake at their Free Larry Hoover concert where ‘Ye ended up performing a rendition of “Runaway” while sneaking in some lyrics directed towards Kim. “Run right back to me, more specifically Kimberly,” he sang.

It seems that not even “Runaway” could win back Kim Kardashian, though. Kim filed documents to revert her marital status to single. TMZ obtained the documents which practically state that there’s no chance that reconciliation is in their future. “No counseling or reconciliation effort will be of any value at this time,” it reads. “Irreconcilable differences have existed and continue to exist between [Kanye] and me, which have caused our marriage to irretrievably break down.”

Kim added that she’s made many attempts to settle their divorce since she filed paperwork in February. “I have requested several times that [Kanye] agree to bifurcate and terminate our marital status. [He] has not responded to my request,” she added. “[Kanye] and I both deserve the opportunity to build new lives. Therefore, I am asking that my request to bifurcate and terminate our marital status be granted.”

A judge has yet to rule.

Drake’s Music Makes People Run Slower, According To New Study

Drake makes music for every occasion. Sad? Drake has a song for that. Happy? Drake has a song for that. Hangry? There’s likely a record in Drake’s expansive catalog that will suit whatever vibe you’re on that day. Unfortunately, his music might not be the best to have in your ears when you’re hitting the treadmill or running a marathon.

According to a new study, Drake’s music ranks among the worst to listen to while running. Sportwear brand Pour Moi shared a new study that detailed the relationship between different music and running speed. The data looked into 60 runs among a group of joggers, all of whom listened to different artists.

Beyoncé had the highest ranking on the list. Runners who listened to Bey cut their running time by two minutes and 45 seconds. Meanwhile, those who were listening to Drake lagged behind. The runners who had Drizzy’s music in their ears increased their running time by 6%. The study shows that listening to Drake could add nearly 15 extra minutes to their run-time.

Other artists who joined Drake in slowing down joggers are BTS, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, and Katy Perry. Meanwhile, the list of artists who made the joggers move quicker is Harry Styles, Britney Spears, Cardi B, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Rihanna, and more.

The Island Boys Get Heated During Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” Podcast Shoot

The Island Boy are twin brothers from Florida who recently rose to TikTok fame. The two artis are known for their off-pitch rapping style and their distinct look, consisting of dyed dreads and face tattoos.

With their growing social media presence, the brothers have been able to land some pretty exciting opportunities, including a performance at Club LIV (although it may not have gone as planned).

Now, joining in on their online notoriety, Logan Paul, YouTuber-turned-boxer, invited the brothers to appear on his podcast, Impaulsive. The show consists of Paul, his two co-hosts, Mike Maljak and George Janko, and a rotating list of special guests, with a focus on gossip and the latest news within the influencer community.

In a seemingly candid clip shot during the Impaulsive podcast episode with the Island Boys, a confrontation is beginning to brew between the duo and George Janko. In the video, Flyysoulja can be heard saying, “You know I’m thuggin’ though, right? I told you to end it already and you keep talking about it. It’s probably because the cameras are on.”

The footage also shows a confused Janko, apparently oblivious to how the conflict began. He says, flustered, “What the f*** just happened? Explain to me what I said.”

After the incident occurred, Janko went on to post his own YouTube video, titled, “The Island Boys Tried to Fight me on Impaulsive…” In his vlog, he stated, “I’m one of their biggest f***ing fans, bro. I would have bought merch if they had merch.”

While the brothers have not elaborated further on what the issue was, Logan Paul did take to Twitter to promote the upcoming interview by using the clip. The full interview is set to be released on Tuesday.

Check out the viral clip of the confrontation below, and stay tuned for the full episode.

Cardi B’s ‘I Like It’ Makes Her The First Female Rapper With Three Diamond Certified Singles

It’s often said that good things come in threes — and for Cardi B, it’s absolutely true this week as The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) officially certified “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin her third single to reach diamond (10 million units sold) this year. She became the first female rapper with a diamond-certified single in March for her 2017 mega-hit “Bodak Yellow,” while in November, she reached the milestone again with “Girls Like You,” her 2018 collaboration with Maroon 5. “OMMMMMMGGGGGGG,” she wrote on Twitter, tagging her collaborators and pairing her reaction with a string of screaming emojis.

Over on Instagram, she gave a longer reaction, explaining her feelings about making history. “Wow I’m sooo happy,” she wrote. “My album came out in 2018 and it’s still breaking records. I have a solo [diamond] record, a feature [diamond] record, and now ANOTHER [diamond] record from a collab with 2 people that I look up to and love so much, @jbalvin & @badbunny! I remember like it was yesterday when this song went #1 and now it’s Diamond. I honestly just can’t believe this is happening! I’m so proud to have two songs off my debut album go Diamond. I hope I can achieve the same or even better on my next one.”

She also shared a fun fact about the single. “This song started my great relationship with Balenciaga and is the record that gets me the most coin since it’s requested for commercials and brands all the time,” she said. That’s just fantastic. Check out the song above.
