Yung Miami’s NSFW ‘Rap Freaks’ Video Calls Out Her Industry Crushes

Miami rap duo City Girls is already well-known for their raunchy rhymes, but on Yung Miami’s new solo single “Rap Freaks,” she pulls out all the stops. Taking a page from Lil Kim’s “Dreams” and Nicki Minaj’s “Barbie Dreams,” Miami names names, calling out all her industry crushes. She includes Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Durk (and his partner India Royale), Future, Meek Mill, Moneybagg Yo, 50 Cent, Rod Wave, and her rumored beau Diddy. The song is accompanied by a BDSM-themed, borderline-NSFW music video featuring Miami doing the splits on a ceiling swing clad in black leather with a matching mask.

Both City Girls members, JT and Miami, have been branching out lately, contributing solo verses to new projects from their peers in the rap game. Miami’s latest effort was a feature on Migos member Quavo’s solo single, “Strub Tha Ground.” Its video, which reproduced legendary Atlanta festival Freaknik, found the two getting cozy, making Quavo’s absence from her “Rap Freaks” verse notable. Meanwhile, JT’s new solo verse went to Summer Walker’s “Ex For A Reason” single; JT also appeared in the Atlanta singer’s album promo trailer. The solo work hasn’t, however, stopped City Girls from continuing to collaborate; their summer single “Twerkulator” seemed to indicate that they have more group work coming soon.

Quavo And Yung Miami’s Debauched ‘Strub Tha Ground’ Video Resurrects Freaknik

Now that Migos have gotten their Culture III rollout out of the way, it appears the Atlanta trio is again working on solo albums. At least, Quavo is, and today, he released the high-energy lead single, “Strub Tha Ground” featuring City Girls’ Yung Miami. Built on a sample of Miami bass trio Splack Pack’s 1993 single “Scrub Da Ground,” the song encourages the ladies at the club to drop it down low for both entertainment and profit. The video concept finds the pair resurrecting the legendary Atlanta street party Freaknik, with Quavo walking around filming the festivities.

Quavo announced his upcoming solo album on Complex‘s Hiking With Rappers series earlier this week, explaining that he’s aiming for release in 2022. “Probably like next year, the Huncho solo project will come back out,” he said. That’ll make it around four years since his 2018 solo debut, Quavo Huncho, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, sold gold within a year of its release, and contained the singles “How Bout That” and “Workin Me.”

Yung Miami, who delivers a standout verse on the new track, was recently linked romantically to Diddy. Meanwhile, she’s not the only member of her Miami duo to fly solo lately; JT popped up with a verse on Summer Walker’s new single “Ex For A Reason.”

Fans Speculate About Diddy And City Girls’ Yung Miami After She Posts And Deletes A Video Of The Two Getting Close

Back in early June, fans of Miami rap duo City Girls were delighted and bemused when Yung Miami — known affectionately as “Caresha” to her followers — was seen holding hands with 53-year-old rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs at Quality Control CEO Pierre “P” Thomas’ elegant birthday party. “Caresha” trended for nearly a full day as fans expressed their excitement and amusement at the potential pairing, pondering whether or not the two were really a couple.

Today, something similar is simmering as online sleuths work to get to the bottom of another post of the two rap stars hanging out — this one even more suggestive. Adding to the intrigue, Miami deleted the photo after just a few minutes, leading to increased speculation that the Miami-born rapper meant to share it exclusively with her “Close Friends” list on Instagram rather than her public Instagram Story.

Meanwhile, Diddy — who recently renamed himself to “Love” — has looked about as happy as a clam in recent months, including in a Vanity Fair cover story where he explained the meaning behind his newest moniker and revealed he’s working on starting an all-R&B label where he’ll split the profits with artists 50-50. As fans question whether there might be another hidden meaning behind the name, you can check out their responses below.
