YG Leads Historic Peace Walk, Ending Decade-Long Rivalry in Compton

PIRU WALK 37

On Sunday, Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum artist YG, alongside Compton natives The Game, Wallie The Sensei, and hundreds of residents, spearheaded a groundbreaking peace walk that successfully ended a ten-year rivalry between the Treetop Pirus and Fruit Town Pirus gangs. The event, which began at Gonzales Park, marked a pivotal moment for community healing and solidarity.

The walk, organized by YG and gang leaders, commenced in the afternoon and saw participants march through Compton’s streets, ultimately culminating in a gathering at a local park where the gangs officially declared peace. This significant event comes on the heels of YG’s latest album, “Just Re’d Up 3,” and follows his previous leadership in the 2020 Black rights march that attracted over 50,000 attendees.

YG’s efforts have not only made an impact through his music but also through his commitment to social justice and community empowerment. His ability to bring together opposing factions for a common cause underscores his role as a key advocate for change.

The peace walk represents more than just a symbolic gesture; it signifies a tangible step toward lasting peace in Compton. The once-divided neighborhoods now stand united, reflecting YG’s influence and the collective desire for a brighter future. This historic event offers hope and inspiration for communities nationwide grappling with similar conflicts.

YG Led An Effort To Unite Gangs In His Hometown With A Peace Walk Through Compton

Throughout his career, the Compton-bred rapper YG has proudly flaunted his affiliation with the Bloods street gang, which extends to everything from his spelling of the Hub City’s abbreviation (“BPT” as opposed to “CPT”) to his wardrobe choices. On Sunday, he used his standing as both a lifelong member of the Treetop Pirus faction and his celebrity status to help broker a peace with a rival Blood faction, Fruit Town Pirus, with a Peace Walk through his hometown alongside fellow Compton native rapper The Game and hundreds of members and their families.

YG, who just released his new album, Just Re’d Up 3, hosted a similar march in 2020 to protest the then-recent police shooting of Louisville native Breonna Taylor at her home. At the time, the march drew around 50,000 protestors, but YG’s involvement was criticized when it was revealed he would use footage of the protest in the music video for his song “FTP.”

However, he hasn’t yet let that stop him from trying to use his influence as a force for good. He donated $100,000 to Los Angeles families, then handed out nearly $20,000 worth of his sneakers to ex-inmates and vehicles to the Telehealth program. Sunday’s peace walk is just another example of YG using his stardom to give back.

Fans Mistook A YG Instagram Post As Confirmation Saweetie Cheated, So He Explained Its More Mundane Meaning

After police were called to the rappers’ home over a loud argument, fans were convinced Saweetie cheated when YG shared a cryptic post on Instagram. Early this week, TMZ reported that YG and Saweetie’s neighbors called the police on them over worries of a domestic dispute, which was supposedly caused by “cell phone drama.” A day later, YG posted an Instagram Story slide consisting of two emoji: A lion and a cheetah.

Fans ran with the theory that the emoji represented homonyms for “lyin’ cheater” (get it?), assuming that this meant Saweetie had been caught stepping out on her man. However, YG told fans to “stop the kap” on Twitter, explaining, “I was at the zoo with my kids.” Backing up his claim were more slides capturing his kids enjoying a day at the Los Angeles Zoo (a delightful day out, although I wouldn’t recommend it in 90-degree weather). YG later deleted his tweet, but it was screencapped by multiple fan accounts.

Saweetie and YG have been dating for a little over a year, although early this year, some fans speculated that the couple had split up after a report from TheShadeRoom. They seemingly refuted those rumors at Rolling Loud, where Saweetie joined YG and Tyga onstage for some PDA.

YG Finally Releases “JUST RE’D UP 3” Featuring Lil Yachty, Ty Dolla $ign, Saweetie, & More

YG has been in quite the mix-up over the past couple of days. Reportedly, a neighbor called the police as they were worried about loud noises coming from inside his and his girlfriend (?) Saweetie’s home. When authorities arrived, they quickly separated the two after an intense shouting match that thankfully didn’t involve any hands being thrown. Since then, fans are skeptical on how their relationship will move forward. However, YG doesn’t seem all that bothered after shutting down rumors and dropping his new album, JUST RE’D UP 3.

The California MC has been working toward this release over the last couple of months, leaving off single after single. The lead-off track was “KNOCKA”, which came out back in April. After, that YG would go on to give fans four more, including “STUPID” with Lil Yachty and Babyface Ray, “WEIRD”, and more. This is obviously now the third installment in his Just Re’d Up series, which started back at the early stages of the 2010s. Now, after about 11 years since number two, 3 is here. You can check it out with the links below and there are plenty of names attached to this album. Kaliii, Stunna Girl, Kalan.FrFr, Mustard, Larry June, and G Herbo are just few to list.

YG Cleverly Implies That Saweetie Cheated On Him Following Their Shouting Match

This past Saturday, August 10, YG and Saweetie were causing a massive ruckus in their Los Angeles-area home. TMZ Hip Hop got information on their fight on Monday, and it had to do with some sort of cell phone drama. Police officers disclosed that information to the source thanks to them being called to the scene by a neighbor presumably. It never got into a physical altercation, but it was clearly a nasty situation for the recently rekindled couple. Authorities did remain on the premises until everything between YG and Saweetie settled down.

So, yes, the exact details of the shouting match were pretty scant. However, according to some new developments from HipHopDX, we may know even more. Yesterday, August 13, YG posted a cryptic series of emojis on an Instagram Story that has since been deleted. However, they snapped a screenshot of it and it includes a lion “🦁” and a cheetah “🐆”.

A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom)

Given the recent debacle, some fans were able to piece together that the JUST RE’D UP 3 MC is suggesting that Saweetie has not been faithful. Specifically, she’s been lying and cheating on him. Fans were giving him props in the comments section under the repost from The Shade Room. “Ngl that’s kind of clever 😂”, one user admits. “Somebody be lying & cheatin 😭“, another recognizes. Other were making quick-witted puns. “He moving on to cougars only.” Obviously, this more so gossip right now, but fans might be on to something here.

What are your thoughts on YG suggesting that Saweetie has been cheating and lying to him? Do you think this is what caused their domestic fight the other day, why or why not? L.A. County Sheriffs Called To Settle Spat Between YG And Saweetie

YG and Saweetie Declare Their Love for Each Other On Stage

Over the weekend, YG and Saweetie showed that there is trouble in paradise when the couple had a vicious verbal altercation, causing the authorities to be called to their Los Angeles home.

The L.A. Sheriff’s Dept. reported that an argument between the two rappers got so loud Saturday afternoon that someone called them “out of concern”. Deputies arrived on the scene and separated YG and Saweetie just to find out that the couple got into a spat over cell phone drama.

The deputies determined that there was no physical violence, but there was obviously a very loud, boisterous argument. A noncriminal report was taken to document the incident, but no crimes were committed.

These two were originally confirmed as a dynamic duo back in April 2023 after being spotted hugged up at Coachella.

Neither YG or Saweetie have commented on the skirmish at their residence.

Saweetie And YG’s Neighbors Called The Police On Them Over Worries Of A Domestic Dispute

California rap royalty Saweetie and YG could be experiencing trouble in paradise. According to TMZ, the couple’s neighbors called the police on them over worries of a domestic dispute on Saturday (August 10). The officers who arrived determined that their argument never got physical, despite being loud enough to worry the neighbors, and an incident report was filed after the couple had calmed down. According to that report, the fight had started over “phone drama.”

The couple was rumored to have broken up in January, when the Instagram gossip account TheShadeRoom reported that a source with knowledge of the situation had confirmed they agreed to part ways. However, they appeared to put that speculation to rest in March, when Saweetie popped out during YG and Tyga’s set at Rolling Loud California, exchanging some flirty words and gestures that suggested that they were either back together, or never broken up to begin with. Saweetie’s name also appears on the tracklist for YG’s upcoming album, Just Re’d Up 3, so they certainly appear to be on good enough terms to work together.

The two West Coast rappers had been dating for about a year; they were first linked in March 2023, when they were photographed on vacation getting fairly cozy. Since then, they’ve collaborated on multiple songs and even went on tour together with Tyga last fall.

YG & Saweetie Altercation Broken Up By Police

YG and Saweetie, two California rappers and lovebirds, were reportedly getting into it recently. According to TMZ Hip Hop, authorities were called, presumably by a neighbor, due to hearing very audible screaming and shouting. It occurred inside their Los Angeles-area household this past Saturday, August 10. As soon as local police walked through the doors to their place, they immediately got involved, separating YG and Saweetie. The exact details of why they were fighting with each other are unknown. However, what we do know is that it had something to do with each other’s cell phones.

Obviously, that could mean anything, so we will leave it up to you to debate what it was in relation to. Thankfully, though, police say that there was zero physical contact between them. Of course, loud shouting matches are never fun, but at least it was verbal only. After learning what they could, the authorities stayed with the MC couple until things settled down entirely.

In addition, the cops cited this as a noncriminal report, but they did so just to have something on file to go off of if things continue to get worse. Furthermore, no crimes were charged to each of them. This nasty fight comes in the middle of some big musical accomplishments for 2024. YG is getting ready to release is new album, JUST RE’D UP 3, a long-awaited sequel project in his longstanding mixtape series. It will arrive August 16. As for Saweetie, she is coming off a pretty stellar guest spot on LL COOL J’s recent “Proclivities” single which will land on the New Yorker’s September 6 LP, The FORCE.

What are your thoughts on YG and Saweetie getting into a rageful shouting skirmish? Do you think this relationship will last? What are you thinking they were yelling at each other for? YG Unveils New Single “Love Make,” Blending His Style with an Avant Classic

YG Unveils New Single "Love Make," Blending His Style with an Avant Classic

Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum artist, and humanitarian YG has released his latest single, “Love Make,” produced by longtime collaborator DJ Mustard. This track significantly shifts YG’s musical style, blending soulful melodies with his signature storytelling. “Love Make” showcases YG’s ability to integrate nostalgic R&B vibes with modern hip-hop elements, delivering a refreshing and evocative sound.

“Love Make” opens with a nostalgic sample from Avant’s 2002 hit “Makin’ Good Love,” setting the tone for the song’s chorus. The track seamlessly integrates this classic R&B vibe, creating a backdrop that is both familiar and refreshing. YG delivers his verses with vivid imagery and candid lyrics, exploring the dynamics of intimacy and relationships. His ability to juxtapose heartfelt choruses with his distinct narrative style brings a unique depth to the song, making “Love Make” a standout addition to his upcoming album, the eagerly awaited third installment of his famed ‘Just Re’d Up’ series, “Just Re’d Up 3.”

The accompanying music video poetically mirrors the lyrics with visuals, blending throwback R&B aesthetics and a modern look to complement the song’s mix of nostalgic Avant samples and YG’s contemporary rap cadence. This release continues to showcase YG’s versatility as an artist through its compelling blend of old-school influences and modern storytelling.
