YFN Lucci has pled guilty to participating in criminal gang activity, according to WSBTV reporter Michael Seiden on Twitter today. Lucci was offered a plea deal that halved his would-be 20-year sentence, instead giving him 10 years of probation after 10 years in prison. By taking the deal, Lucci avoids a possible life sentence, as he was originally charged with a litany of offenses including the murder of 28-year-old James Adams in a drive-by shooting in 2020.

Lucci initially turned himself in on the murder charges in January 2021 after police announced a warrant for his arrest and was denied bond after being charged with murder, aggravated assault, participating in criminal street gang activity, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was also incicted on racketeering charges and accused of tampering with evidence, encouraging assault on someone for playing a rival gang’s music, and other offenses. Incidentally, his case was tangientally connected with another high-profile racketeering case in Atlanta, as that supposed rival gang was YSL, the Blood set which Young Thug is currently accused of leading.

In Thug’s trial, prosecutors have been using the rapper’s lyrics as evidence against him, citing at least one line taunting Lucci over shooting his mother. Lucci, however, was not tapped as a witness, despite reports stating otherwise.

YFN RICO Trial Officially Set To Begin Early Next Year

Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial is already underway and dominating headlines with new revelations almost every day. But fans are already looking towards what’s next with the YFN RICO trial. That case is headlined by YFN Lucci whose name has already come up in connection to Young Thug. During the pre-trial proceedings, the judge in the YSL case ruled lyrics from certain Young Thug songs admissible. One of the lyrics chosen by the prosecution was alluded to be about Lucci, though many online have disputed that.

Now Lucci is inching ever closer to ultimately learning his fate with an official date set for the YFN RICO trial to begin. That date is January 8 which could put it in line with some of the other high-profile rap cases being heard across the country right now. The YSL RICO trial is expected to last quite a long time and should certainly intersect with the beginning of the YFN trial. It could also coincide with YNW Melly’s second trial. His first came earlier this year but ultimately ended in a mistrial and he’s been in jail ever since waiting for the start of his next trial.

YFN RICO Trial Gets Official Start Date

The YFN Trial has been delayed for months while the YSL RICO trial unfolded. Part of that likely had to do with YSL Lil Woody who is reportedly an informant. Earlier this year video leaked of him specifically snitching on YFN Lucci. Lucci was also expected to potentially testify in the YSL case though that doesn’t seem like it will ultimately happen.

The official trial start date of January 8, 2024 is almost exactly a year after it was scheduled to originally start on January 9, 2023. The YSL Trial: Attorney Claims YFN Lucci Targeted Young Thug for Beef to Become a Bigger Artist and Make Money

yfn lucci jail

The YSL Rico trial rolled into day two on Tuesday, bringing about an interesting note from Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel.

According to court reporter Bryson Paul, Steel dives into Young Thug’s beef with fellow Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci, claiming it started because Lucci needed money.

According to Paul, Lucci’s beef was due to being “broke and trying to attach himself to a bigger artist like thug did @LilTunechi.”

YFN Lucci has chose not to appear in the YSL case as a witness.

DJ Akademiks posted court documents showing Lucci, born Rayshawn Bennett, refused to sign a subpoena to appear in court against YSL defendants.

Lucci and Young Thug have a long-standing beef. Lucci’s attorney Drew Findling spoke to TMZ in December and stated he would not be a part of the YSL RICO case. Findling says Lucci has not been in contact with law enforcement that has any involvement in the current YSL case.

“Any party can announce, for example, that Abraham Lincoln is on their witness list, but those words alone are meaningless. So, to be 100% clear, Rayshawn Bennett (Lucci) will not be a witness in the YSL case,” Findling said.

Like Young Thug, Lucci is currently sitting in jail for a trial involving murder charges. His focus is presently on the Fulton County case.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Explains YFN Lucci Connection In Court

Young Thug’s high-profile YSL RICO trial got started earlier this week. Though it’s just the second day, there are already major revelations being made. According to Bryson “Boom” Paul, Thug’s attorney Brian Steele provided an explanation for the original of Thug’s beef with fellow rapper YFN Lucci. He alleged that Lucci is actually broke and is attaching himself to more relevant rappers in order to generate attention and clout. Steele even claimed that Thug himself did something similar to Lil Wayne when he was a much less popular artist.

The trial is properly underway now after a rough start to the proceedings yesterday. The judge was already frustrated with lawyers from both sides, even before the opening day proceedings. But he was even more frustrated with the prosecution after they failed to deliver all the text slides in their opening statement to the defense. As a result, the opening statements were delayed. The jury had to be dismissed while they sorted the problem of sharing the opening statements between lawyers.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Brings Up YFN Lucci, Lil Wayne

As a result of the failure of the prosecution to hand over all their material Young Thug’s lawyers moved for a mistrial yesterday. Despite his issues with the prosecutions handling of the proceedings, the judge denied the mistrial request. It’s the most recent in a series of issues between the lawyers in the case and the judge who is hearing it.

During the pretrial, the judge had a heated moment with Thug’s lawyer Brian Steele. While they were examining a witness brought in as a gang expert, Steele was frustrated with the prosecutions constant objections. When he described the evaluation as a “farce” the judge specifically warned him to not use that description. That was just one of numerous issues that emerged with lawyers throughout pre trial proceedings. What do you think of Young Thug’s lawyers explanation of his beef with YFN Lucci? Meek Mill Speaks Out Against Using Rap Lyrics In Trials

Earlier this week, it was announced that lyrics from various Young Thug songs would be allowed as evidence in his YSL RICO trial. Many online spoke out against the move immediately. Most notably, Killer Mike expressed his fear over the potential outcomes of the decision via his Instagram story. Now, Meek Mill, who has also long been an advocate for social justice and improving the justice system, is weighing in.

In a tweet, Meek explained his position. “Locking us for rapping got me scared to do a interview free Jeff free Lucci,” the post reads. It’s far from the first time Meek has weighed in on the events of Young Thug’s trial. Just last week he expressed his confidence in Thugger to beat the case. He was responding to reports that the judge was unhappy with the prosecution in the case. Meek described the trial as “messy” and consequently claimed that would help Thug beat the case.
