Kendrick Lamar shocked the world today, releasing his new album GNX without any advance warning. The album features the long-awaited release of “Squabble Up” and production from frequent Taylor Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff. However, it doesn’t list the guest artists, despite featuring some familiar voices like Kendrick’s former labelmate SZA. So, who are the features on Kendrick Lamar’s new album GNX?

The features include:

Regional Mexicano singer Deyra Barrera, and South Central/Compton rappers AzChike, Dody 6, Hitta J3, Siete, Wallie The Sensei, and Young Threat. Clearly, GNX is a hometown affair, with Kendrick sharing his spotlight with plenty of rising stars from Hub City. Many of the above names appeared during Kendrick’s Pop Out concert earlier this year, so it’s unsurprising to see him continuing to share his platform with the city.

The release of GNX caps an extremely successful 2024 for Kendrick, which unofficially kicked off with his industry-breaking feature verse on Future’s “Like That.” That song restarted Kendrick’s long-simmering feud with Drake, sparking a back-and-forth that culminated in Kendrick’s song “Not Like Us” becoming a massive hit and effectively putting Drake’s career in the dirt. K. Dot followed up his victory with the announcement of his upcoming performance at the Super Bowl, while “Not Like Us” and “Like That” were both nominated for Grammys.

GNX is out now. You can listen to it here.

Wallie The Sensei Asks “Come Slide Wit Me” & Kalan.FrFr On “New” Single: Stream

Two Los Angeles MCs are holding it down on this bouncy and romantic single and brand-new video from Wallie The Sensei and Kalan.FrFr, “Come Slide Wit Me.” As you might expect, this is a West Coast-infused and summery cut about one’s ability to care for a partner, lust for them, provide, and just overall flex together throughout their lavish lives. The vocal melodies and flows are relatively simple, but there are some engaging speed-ups and extra production embellishments like strings, samples, and synth pads to flesh things out. Also, both vocalists share plenty of sung chemistry and are able to come across quite charismatically on the mic. They’ve both been pretty busy this year, with Wallie landing on G Perico’s G Slim’s Revenge back in April.

On the other hand, Kalan.FrFr just dropped his new project MAKE THE WEST GREAT AGAIN backed by hot tracks like “EVERYBODY.” If you’re a fan of that California swing, it’s a must-listen. It’s also pretty heartening to hear these two artists have some fun on a track together, as they haven’t had many link-ups together in the past. They both appeared on Rucci’s El Perro 2 a couple of years ago, so hopefully there are more chances. We should also mention that this song came out on SoundCloud three years ago, and we’re glad it’s finally widely accesible. Check “Come Slide Wit Me” out on your preferred streaming service and watch the music video below. Let us know what you thought of it in the comments section down there, where you’ll also find some notable lines. As always, stick around on HNHH for more rap drops around the clock.

Quotable Lyrics
Bust down your neck, but not the nasty kind,
Your Cuban Link all flowers set just like a dandelion,
You fell in love with me and my set like it was Valentine’s,
Said if you bust yours, you know I’m blasting mine

Who Is Opening YG, Tyga, And Saweetie’s ‘Str8 To The Club Tour?’

This week, YG, Tyga, and Saweetie launch their Str8 To The Club Tour in Sacramento, before heading north to San Francisco then taking over arenas in Las Vegas, Tucson, Tacoma, Vancouver, and more. The trio will be joined by three openers: Kamaiyah, Wallie The Sensei, and DJ Vision. The tour will likely offer fans a preview of Tyga and YG’s upcoming joint album, as well as Saweetie’s long-delayed debut, along with a look at some of California’s hottest up-and-coming artists. So…

Who Is Opening YG, Tyga, And Saweetie’s Str8 To The Club Tour?

DJ Vision

DJ Vision is a Los Angeles-based DJ who has mainly supported OhGeesy as his tour DJ, accompanying him on his 2022 Geezyworld Tour, as well as touring with YG on The Red Cup Tour with OhGeesy, and YG’s 4Hunnid artists Day Sulan, and D3SZN. The earliest tour on his social media is YG’s F*ck Donald Trump Tour in 2016, which featured Kamaiyah, RJ (aka RJMrLA), and Sad Boy.

Kamaiyah

Kamaiyah is an interesting addition to the lineup because of the history between her and YG. After garnering a strong reception for her 2016 mixtape A Good Night In The Ghetto, she signed with 4Hunnid Records as one of YG’s first artists with distribution through Interscope. However, after her debut album was delayed multiple times, she left both labels in a rather contentious split. It appears the two are back on better terms now that Yaya is back independent. She has continued to release new music, dropping her most recent full-length album, Oakland Nights, in 2020, and an EP, Diving Timing, last year. She has released a steady stream of new singles in 2023, including “Shot Callin’,” “All Night,” and “Heat Warning.”

Wallie The Sensei

Wallie The Sensei is a newer artist from — where else? — Compton, who dropped his debut album, Golden Child, in 2021, following up in 2022 with Here 2 Stay. He approaches rap with the contemporary melodic flow popular with fellow Hub City natives like Roddy Ricch and Kalan.FrFr, crooning about the heartbreak of growing up knee-deep in hood politics. According to an early bio on local rap blog Rosecrans Ave. (what up, Vic!), his goal is to provide a positive outlook and guidance for those stuck in similar situations — hence the “sensei” in his stage name. On Instagram, he’s tagged himself a “Hope Dealer,” and his music certainly seems to offer a sliver of silver lining amid the emotional catharsis.

Wallie The Sensei Is “HERE 2 STAY” With His New Mixtape

It’s not quite Friday yet, but we still have some more new music for your listening pleasure. On Tuesday (December 20), Wallie the Sensei surprisingly gave his fans a Christmas present in the form of his HERE 2 STAY mixtape.

The project consists of 14 titles, including previously released songs like “Fck Love,” “Damage” featuring YXNG K.A, and “Homi.” Other guest appearances come from the likes of Saviii3rd, Mari Ruger, Earl Swavey, and finally, Melly.

Additionally, The Sensei recruited Jehkai to aid him on his “Ghetto Lullaby,” and Siete7x to join him on “Can’t Leave.”

The Compton native’s HERE 2 STAY arrives correspondingly in celebration of his birthday, a press release notes. Throughout the various tracks, “Wallie’s heartfelt delivery and introspective lyricism” undoubtedly enchant his listeners.

Furthermore, “Life Is What You Make It” is quickly emerging as a fan favourite upon the project’s debut. The song finds him specifically reflecting on the pain of personal tragedy as his career continues to soar to new heights.

“Feel like I’m beefin’ with God ‘cause he done took all my friends,” the California-born singer croons. “And when it ain’t making sense just know you still got to strive, I know we dying to live,” Wallie continues.

The “Watch Me” hitmaker’s latest work follows his GOLDEN CHILD release, previously spearheaded by his “03 Flow” single. Finding success via radio support and co-signs from PnB Rock, it was a tribute to 03 Greedo.
