The ‘Kawhi Leonard Presents: Culture Jam Vol. 1’ Tracklist Is Absolutely Loaded
While Kawhi Leonard won’t be suiting up for the Clippers anytime soon this season following offseason ACL surgery, he’s been keeping busy as a co-executive producer for the Culture Jam Vol. 1 compilation, scheduled to be released tomorrow via Virgin Music. Yesterday, Uproxx reported on the latest video drop from the album for A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie And Capella Gray’s “Bestie.” The track follows the first two releases from the album: Rod Wave and YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s “Everything Different” and “Waves” by Gunna and Polo G.

Now, one day ahead of the release, the full tracklist has been shared and it looks like Kawhi plucked the cream of the crop from All-Star Weekend function. “Gotta Have It” with Ty Dolla Sign, Stefflon Don, and recent Uproxx cover star Wale stands out as one to get hyped on. It should be noted that Leonard indicated that part of the proceeds will benefit the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. In addition to the album, Leonard is presenting the Culture Jam Sports And Music Festival (CJ21) featuring Cordae, Bluebuckslean, and others, held at the Shrine Auditorium in LA on November 21st.

Wale Interview – Folarin 2 Album, Ambulance Movie Role and Peace
Wale, Maxo Kream, And Yella Beezy Throw A Parking Lot Party In The ‘Down South’ Video
If you’re going to make a video for a song called “Down South” featuring Houston hard-hitter Maxo Kream and Dallas star Yella Beezy, it’s only right that you make that video a blowout celebration of all things Texas car culture. That’s exactly what Wale does for his Paul Wall-sampling single from Folarin II, throwing a parking lot party with all the candy paint, hydraulics, and horsepower he could fit into four minutes.
The video is also crammed with legends of Texas hip-hop, including Bun B, Slim Thug, and more. As the trio’s guests gyrate to the no-doubt booming bass from the circled-up, showstopping slabs, the rappers perform their verses and sip from styrofoam cups, completing the image of a good, old-fashioned Texas shindig. Interestingly, “Down South” is the third video from the Folarin II rollout, but it was the first single. Wale also dropped videos for “Poke It Out,” featuring J. Cole, and “Angles” with Chris Brown.

Folarin II is due 10/22 via Warner Records and MMG. You can pre-save it here.

Kash Doll Flaunts The Perks Of Being ‘Single & Happy’ In Her Video With Wale And Eric Bellinger
Two years after her last project, Stacked, Kash Doll is back in action with a new video, in which the Detroit rapper calls on Wale and Eric Bellinger to join her for “Single & Happy.” The song was shared at the end of August and in the video, Kash Doll poses as the queen of her palace while a group of men audition one-by-one to be her partner. Wale and Eric Bellinger appear beside her while also sharing their perks of the single life.
The track is Kash Doll’s third single of the year following “Like A Pro” with Juicy J and “Thumbin.” Prior to that, she teamed up with fellow Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley for “Goldilocks” and called on DJ Infamous, Latto, and Benny The Butcher for “Bad Azz.”
As for her collaborators, Wale is a little over a week away from sharing his seventh album, Folarin II, which is led by singles that include “Poke It Out” with J. Cole and “Down South” with Yella Beezy and Maxo Kream. Eric Bellinger shared his latest album New Light last month, which boasted features from Sevyn Streeter, Brandy, The Game, Dom Kennedy, and more.

Wale And J Cole’s ‘Poke It Out’ Video Has Even More Q-Tip Homages
Girls just want to have fun in Wale‘s colorful new video for “Poke It Out” featuring J. Cole. After dropping the latest single from his upcoming album, Folarin II, Wale furthers his Q-Tip homages by reproducing some of the Queens rapper’s iconic video moments. As “Poke It Out” samples Q-Tip’s J Dilla-produced debut solo single “Vivrant Thing,” it makes sense that Wale borrows and updates shots such as the infamous head bob as he cruises the streets in a jeep full of women.
Women are the primary focus of the video, as Wale and his female entourage end up at a lakeside campsite (reproducing the beach run from the “Vivrant Thing” video), where the ladies hike, play football, and have a late-night bonfire. Then, Wale and his running buddy J. Cole trade verses against a plain backdrop that lets Cole’s words take center stage as he praises women with bodies ranging from “Meg Thee Stallion” to “Coi Leray” — both of whom Wale’s worked with in the past (click those links).
So far, Wale’s released three singles from his upcoming Folarin sequel, including “Angles” and “Down South,” which features Maxo Kream and Yella Beezy. The classic hip-hop references have been in full effect, promising a rap album that pays even more homage to the past while advancing Wale’s sound and stature in the future.
