Bad news is on the way for fans of Kanye West’s new album Vultures 1 with Ty Dolla Sign. FUGA, the album’s distributor, says the album was delivered to DSPs without authorization and it’s now working to have the project removed. As a FUGA spokesperson told Billboard, “On Friday, February 9, 2024, a long-standing FUGA client delivered the album Vultures 1 through the platform’s automated processes, violating our service agreement. Therefore, FUGA is actively working with its DSP partners and the client to remove Vultures 1 from our systems.”
That Kanye. Always trying to wiggle his way around regulations.
The news is jut the latest rut in an increasingly bumpy road for the long-awaited album. Last year, it was reported that Kanye and Ty were looking for distributors for the project, but finding it somewhat difficult to do so. FUGA’s statement sheds some light on the reason: “Late last year, FUGA was presented with the opportunity to release Vultures 1,” it read. “Exercising our judgment in the ordinary course of business, we declined to do so.” Presumably, so did a lot of other companies in the wake of Kanye’s disturbing antisemitic comments, which also cost him lucrative deals with the likes of Adidas, Gap, and more.
The album has had several different release dates, and has been pushed back each time without prior notice — something for which Kanye had previously developed a reputation for doing, which seems another likely factor in distributors’ hesitation to work with him again. He’s also had trouble booking venues for a proposed tour, and had multiple stars, from Backstreet Boys to Ozzy Osbourne, protest his use of unauthorized samples of their work. The latest artist to object to his liberal sampling practices is disco star Donna Summer, who had the track “Good (Don’t Die)” removed from Spotify.
On Instagram this past Saturday, Summer’s estate wrote: “Kanye West… asked permission to use Donna Summer’s song I Feel Love, he was denied… he changed the words, had someone re sing it or used AI but it’s I Feel Love… copyright infringement!!!”
It certainly sounds like Kanye will try to get his way by hook or crook, and somehow, I don’t think he’ll learn anything from the recent spate of setbacks. Instead, he’ll only use them to justify his view he’s being persecuted unfairly, because the only thing it seems he won’t take is accountability.
After pushed-back release dates and cryptic posts, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign released their collab album Vultures 1 on Friday, February 9. Over the past few years, Kanye has been consistent with having unconventional or in some cases, inconvenient releases. For this one, the album was only on Apple Music for hours. It took hours to appear on Spotify, pulled from Apple Music then re-uploaded with a slightly different album cover. The album’s release was preceded by several listening parties that were open to the public. This has been Kanye’s method for the last few years which has gotten mixed reception due to the often chaotic outcome.
This collab album from Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign comes after years of developing their chemistry. The first time they worked together on wax was in 2015. However, the subsequent collaborations honed into various styles so fans went into the album with a rather open mind. These collabs had a variety of production styles and tones so listeners went into the new album with open minds on how it would sound. Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s ability to perform on a variety of prediction styles is a testament to their skill and range as artists. We’re looking at some of their collabs across the years and how they led to their collab album.
One could say that Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have been day one collaborators. They worked together on Ty Dolla $ign’s debut album Free TC which was released in 2015. Their collaborative track “Guard Down” was an emotional effort that paved the way for their collab on Kanye’s The Life Of Pablo on the track “Real Friends.” This TLOP track was even more emotional as Kanye shared glimpses into his personal life on the track. During 2016, Kanye posted several tracklists for The Life of Pablo – originally titled SWISH – and “Real Friends” was there every time.
Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign also collaborated on another song from The Life of Pablo titled “Fade” which also featured Post Malone. This track found the duo on a house sample, something that audiences did not expect. In an interview with W Magazine, Ty$ spoke on how the song came to be. “We came up with that song in five minutes—the lyrics and the idea. He did the beat on the spot, like from scratch. It was really dope.”
Prior to Pablo, Ty Dolla Sign landed writing credits on two surprise releases from Ye, “FourFiveSeconds” and “Only One.” In an interview with Billboard, Ty$ spoke about the process of creating the tracks with Ye: “[In] like 24 hours, [we recorded] seven songs or nine songs that day…He was open to my input, like, ‘do whatever you want to do. Here’s your mic. Do you need anything?’ I’m like ‘Awesome! Let’s get it!’”
2018: The Wyoming Sessions
Ty Dolla $ign is one of the main people who ventured to Wyoming to record with Kanye for The Wyoming Sessions. Ty Dolla $ign made appearances on two of the five albums from these sessions. He has writing credits and provided vocals for Kanye’s album Ye and did vocals for his collab album with Kid Cudi, KIDS SEE GHOSTS.
In an interview with HipHopDX, he spoke on how the Wyoming sessions went and how he admired Ye’s process during them. “I went up there for two days and did every song that you heard from all those projects…It was a movie out there. He [Kanye] always picks dope locations to record from…It was basically his bedroom where he had the studio set up and it was overlooking this big-ass field and all these mountains. It was beautiful…”
2019-2020: JESUS IS KING & Featuring Ty Dolla $ign
Several of the songs Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign made had some emotional weight to them. Many have likened Ty Dolla $ign’s vocals to a gospel singer’s whenever he links up with Ye. Evidently, their collaborative streak continued once Ty Dolla $ign appeared on Ye’s gospel albumJESUS IS KING. “Everything We Need” went through a variety of changes but Ty$’s vocals stayed on them through the track’s entire transformation process. The original title of the track was “The Storm” and allegedly came from the sessions for the scrapped Kanye album, Yandhi.
Then, Kanye West made two appearances on Ty Dolla $ign’s creatively titled album, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign. These came on “Track 6” and “Ego Death.” The latter finds the duo – along with vocals from FKA Twigs and production from Skrillex – rapping and singing on a groovy house-esque beat. Boogzadabeast and Ty Dolla $ign himself also have production credits on the song. Meanwhile, “Track 6,” was another song where different versions with different people contributing to it. One demo version made its rounds online as “Thank You Vol. 2” and actually featured Kid Cudi. Some sources have stated the track was originally created for the KIDS SEE GHOSTS album.
2021: Donda
Donda is another unique release in Kanye’s discography that Ty Dolla $ign appears on. He appears on “Junya pt 2” which is a different version of “Junya.” The only thing different from the original is Ty$’s verse being on it. This track is one of several “pt 2” versions on the deluxe edition of Donda. With Kanye and Ty$’s history at this point, it seemed right to still have him be on the album in some form instead of leaving his verse on the cutting room floor.
2024: Vultures
Often during Kanye West’s outbursts, rants, monologues, etc, he names specific people. When he does this, he’s either condemning them, praising them or comparing himself to them. Ultimately, Ty Dolla $ign has remained in Ye’s good graces throughout it all and vice versa. Despite the controversies, Ty Dolla $ign didn’t stray from Ye’s side, leading to the release of their collaborative album.
While it’s almost guaranteed that working with Kanye would be anything but smooth sailing, Ty Dolla $ign remained committed to the process and provided fans with updates since they told fans Vultures would be “coming soon” in November 2023. Though the album faced a multitude of setbacks, the two came together strong on the first installment in their series of projects. With two more volumes in the trilogy reportedly coming, only time will tell if this remains the case going forward. There’s also allegedly another solo Kanye album coming and listeners are wondering if Ty$ will be on that one too or rather, if any songs from the Vultures sessions will appear on that album.
West seemed pretty happy about that. On Instagram last night (February 11), West took to his Story to share a tweet making note of the achievement, offering no additional context or opinions beyond the unadorned screenshot.
West’s Spotify win, though, didn’t last long: On the charts dated February 12 and 13, Swift had returned to No. 1. So, by the time West shared the news, it was outdated. Worth noting is that this all happened right after West dropped an anticipated new album, while Swift is currently getting by on months-old material.
This follows a report that Swift got West kicked out of Super Bowl LVIII this past weekend. As HipHopDX notes, former NFL player Brandon Marshall claimed that West had purchased tickets that would have placed him right in front of Swift. Marshall then claimed, “Taylor Swift gets pissed off, she boom boom makes a call or two. Everybody’s involved. He gets kicked out the stadium! He was trying to leverage her celebrity. […] That’s what he tried to do: he tried to sit in front of Taylor Swift.”
The publication notes, though, that despite what Marshall said, West was seen in the stadium multiple times, like when he was spotted in a luxury suite with Ty Dolla Sign and Anderson. Paak.

Kanye West is someone who has received co-signs from people who perhaps aren’t the best examples of who you want to be associated with. Overall, this was very much true during his anti-semitic era which one could argue is still ongoing. He got co-signs from the likes of Nick Fuentes, Milo, and even the creator of the Proud Boys. Although he has distanced himself from those characters, there are still some on the right who continue to praise him. One such person is none other than Candace Owens.
Overall, Owens is controversial for a plethora of reasons. Although her popularity has certainly died down since 2020, she continues to be a big name on the right. She is one of those people that will comment on everything, even if they aren’t super involved in it. Moreover, she will comment even if she does not know much about it. The type of person that would say a Tom MacDonald album is the epitome of good music. Well, her good friend Ye just dropped Vultures, and below, you can find her review.
“Congratulations, Kanye. Cancel culture has been officially cancelled,” Owens said on Twitter. So, yeah. That is pretty much it. Instead of offering up real critiques about the production, the lyrics, the features, Owens has made Vultures a culture war issue. At the end of the day, that is all art is to some people. For most, art is a way to connect with the world around you and feel something. Unfortunately, for others, it is a means to an end in the realm of politics. Engagement bait at its finest, merely packaged in a way that will rile up Ford F150 owners.

Kanye West’s return to social media has been met with mixed reviews. While he did leave fans hanging by announcing things that he didn’t deliver on in due time, others are just happy to be hearing directly from West more. Some of those with complaints have also taken issue with how often West’s wife Bianca Censori pops up in his posts. She’s been a regular feature in his Instagram especially over the past few months. But earlier today West shared a direct message to those complaining about how often his wife appears on his social media.
In the new video, West is walking through the airport and holding his camera right up to his face while ranting at fans. He can’t help but express his shock at the fact that even though he delivered the album fans were still complaining about how much he posted his wife. In a more wholesome moment, he revealed that the main reason he posts his wife is just that she makes him happy. In a less wholesome moment immediately following, he tells people complaining about his posts what they can do. Check out the video West shared below.
Kanye West’s Message To Fans About Posting His Wife
Over the weekend, Kanye West released his new album Vultures. It’s a collaborative project with Ty Dolla $ign that features an impressive array of talented guests throughout. The album was first announced back in December before experiencing numerous delays. This is rumored to be just the first in a trio of volumes of the Vultures series being released in the following months.
The project has been met with a divided response from both critics and fans alike. Many have pointed out some of the material on the album that feels relatively unfinished. Additionally, the project sports a variety of controversial lyrics. What do you think of West’s message to fans who took issue with him posting his wife on Instagram? Do you think he’s been posting Censori too much lately? Let us know in the comment section below.
Quentin Miller reflected on working with Kanye West on his new album, Vultures 1, in a post on Instagram, over the weekend. He confirmed that he contributed to four songs across the tracklist.
“Exactly 20 years after the album that changed my life dropped …Who woulda known man,” Miller wrote. “Shoutout [The Game] for the intro to Ye, shoutout [Tracey Mills] for sealing the deal. Shoutout to @kanyewest & @tydollasign.” From there, he revealed which songs he helped out on. They include “Stars,” “Talking” featuring North West, “Fuk Sumn” featuring Playboi Carti and Travis Scott, and “Beg Forgiveness,” featuring Chris Brown.
Miller first made a name for himself in the public eye for working with Drake. Amid the Toronto rapper’s feud with Meek Mill, Meek outed Miller as Drake’s ghostwriter. Last year, Miller reflected on that period of his career and revealed he wasn’t properly paid for working on Drake’s 2015 mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. “I never got a single publishing check off any songs,” he told VladTV. “I had to feed my family off getting paid under the table in that situation, because Tricky and them wouldn’t let me go, I didn’t get out that deal ’til 2019, 2020; I signed [it in] 2011, I had to let go of a lot of shit just to get out. Even while I was in it, I never got a publishing check or nothing. I was just grinding, bro. I was grinding it out just hoping that one day that one song or working with that one artist is gonna change something — and that was the Drake thing! But it just didn’t change anything.”
Quentin Miller Reflects On Working With Kanye West
In addition to Drake and Kanye, Miller has worked with a number of other stars in hip-hop over the years including Big Sean, Travis Scott, and more. Be on the lookout for further updates on Quentin Miller on HotNewHipHop.
It was an emotional weekend for Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign fans. After a hype listening party in Chicago on February 9, their supporters were expecting VULTURES 1to be on streaming services at midnight. However, it would not drop until Saturday, only to be taken down for a brief moment before reappearing a little later on. On top of that, it took Spotify longer to get it on their platform compared to everyone else. Fans are still digesting the project after all of that and “KEYS TO MY LIFE” has been a recent trending topic.
“KEYS TO MY LIFE” is the second track from the record and is one of the more somber, yet beautiful moments on it. One of the many guests on the project is India Love. She is not making music these days. The last time India put out anything was in 2018. All of her singles were released that year and nothing has come out since then. However, Kanye brought her on to tie things up in the closing moments of “KEYS TO MY LIFE.”
Her vocals sound pretty decent on the final product. However, footage of her laying down her portion has been the recipient of a lot of jokes. It does not help that India was recording in a loud room with people talking. But, even when you take that out of the equation, they do not sound great. Fans agree as the Instagram comments go to town on India. One writes, “Shorty tweaking off the drank.” Another adds, “Okay and I need a lock to my ears.” However, at the end of the day, she did make it on the record, so that itself is a huge accomplishment.
What are your thoughts on the fan reactions to India Love’s recording session for “KEYS TO MY LIFE” for VULTURES 1? Is this the best track from the album, why or why not? Who had the strongest performance on it and why? Do you think she should have been left off the final version? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to tell us in the comments below. Additionally, keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign, India Love, and VULTURES 1. After a weekend with Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign’s collaboration tape VULTURES 1, fans are lukewarm on it. Some say it is an outstanding record, while others do not like how Ye comes across on some of the tracks. One thing that people seem to be collectively agreeing on is the quality of the production. It certainly helps when you have so many creative geniuses coming together like JPEGMAFIA and London On Da Track, for example. They have excellent contributions to “BEG FORGIVENESS.”
It is one of the few serious moments on the LP, and this may be the strongest of that bunch. When Kanye drops introspective and minimal tracks, they almost always seem to hit differently. If you do not believe us, go listen to ones like “FML,” “Say You Will,” or “Come to Life.” Those are just a handful of examples that show him at his best. Ye’s verse on “BEG FORGIVENESS” is quite touching as he hopes that his children will live amazing lives. Additionally, he talks about his own mortality and that he is comfortable with what he accomplised if he were to perish.
Listen To “BEG FORGIVENESS” By Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign, & Chris Brown
As for Ty and Breezy, they both dig deep and bring emotional performances. Brown delivers expertly written choruses, refrains, and pre-choruses. Ty finishes things up, belting out raspy and powerful lines like, “Say you wanna make amends before I go / Now you wanna put your heart on the line.” Both R&B talents are feeling resentful and it will send chills down your spine. For ultimate the crescendo, the instrumental feels tribal, epic, and cold in all the right ways. The chants of “beg forgiveness” are haunting but beautiful as well. If you are looking for track to pick from this album, try this one out.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new song from Vultures 1, “BEG FORGIVENESS,” by Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign, and Chris Brown? Is this the best track from the album, why or why not? Who had the strongest performance and why? What is your overall opinion on the album right now and why? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to tell us in the comments below. Quotable Lyrics:
Don’t let your moment pass you by Had to go in my whole life A hundred percent covered in ice Put down your phone, cut off the lights Lights, cut off the lights, covered in ice And if I go tonight, know that I lived a lovely life
Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have finally dropped their collaborative album Vultures, the first in what’s supposed to be a series of album drops. Two more collab volumes are supposedly on the way, plus a Ye solo album called Y3; that last one is according to EPMD legend Erick Sermon. While we’ll never believe a Kanye album rollout until we actually get a release, it’s at least nice to see folks fully react to these new tracks. Moreover, one of the most fun and simple bops on the whole project is “Do It,” which features guest vocals from Nipsey Hussle and YG. Nip’s appearance is actually a sample from the late legend’s leaked song “I Just Wanna Know” song with Cardi B and Ty himself.
That section opens up the track, which then goes into a party banger with a West Coast bounce, soaring string-like embellishments, and haunting background vocals. Ty Dolla Sign delivers a killer hook melody and previews the song’s hedonistic and lustful themes. To no one’s surprise, Kanye West indulges in this theme with no hesitation, including some cheeky lines about Apple Pay. YG does his thing towards the end with a nonchalant demeanor over a beat that sounds perfectly suited to his style. Along with the likes of “Fuk Sumn,” this record encompasses what makes Vultures a fun listen, albeit one that is pretty one-note.
Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s “Do It” With YG: Listen
Meanwhile, amid rumors that the duo will hold another listening event for Vultures in Las Vegas for Super Bowl weekend, maybe we’re far from done with this rollout. After all, we apparently have more projects to listen to, and more bangers to discover. If nothing else, Kanye West, Ty Dolla Sign, and YG prove that they can still make a simple hit without resorting to grandiosity or controversy. If you haven’t heard “Do It” or the rest of Vultures yet, find it on your preferred streaming service… unless they took it down again. Peep some notable lines down below and, as always, check back in with HNHH for more great music releases around the clock.
Quotable Lyrics Spendin’ all this money like it’s free to me, That s**t fall off trees to me, We ain’t even stress, we the new kings and sheiks, We done made a mess, they gon’ have to clean for weeks
Everyone’s talking about the new album Vultures in regards to its most popular artist, Kanye West. Even though a lot of the project sounds like it came from him and is oriented around his status, it’s a collab album. A big issue with our coverage of this LP -– and that of most publications, for that matter -– is that we might not have properly taken the time to give Ty Dolla $ign his flowers. Say what you will about his association with Ye’s antisemitism, but he is the glue that holds Vultures together, and is its most consistently great force. Fortunately, based on the numbers, the 41-year-old is definitely getting his due praise.
Moreover, a new report emerged suggesting that Ty Dolla Sign is now the ninth most streamed artist on Spotify. Apparently, this reflects a jump of 155 spots from before Vultures had released on the platform after a long wait, which is an amazing feat. Given the discrepancy between his popularity and that of Kanye West, we’re glad that this opportunity at least put him on the spotlight in a way that would boost his visibility, his numbers, and his acclaim. No matter what on God’s green Earth is going on during any given album cut, you can bet on the Los Angeles native to deliver a strong chorus or melodic line.
Ty Dolla Sign Goes Up With The Release Of Vultures
What’s more is that his emotion and perspective also shines through in a very engaging and compelling way. For example, Ty Dolla Sign’s half on the track “Talking,” plus the music video, shows his dedication and passion as a father. Contrasted with the wild statements that Kanye West espouses, this gets to the heart of their collaborative project in a much more clear and unencumbered way. As such, he’s definitely a saving grace on Vultures for those looking for something deeper, although we have to give the production its due credit, too.
If you’re interested in who else made this album what it is, you can find the features and production credits here. Do you think that the rap-R&B artist is worty of this praise and success?
