Nicki Minaj Loses Twitter Verification, Cardi B Doesn’t

A lot of celebrities have been going crazy over losing their blue checkmarks or ticks on Twitter, which Elon Musk is doing to get more people to pay for verification. Nicki Minaj, however, isn’t phased when it comes to losing her Twitter verification. Moreover, she actually responded to a fan teasing her about in on the social media platform. “@NICKIMINAJ get the verification badge I keep thinking you’re a troll account,” they wrote. “I am,” she clapped back with a GIF of Dr. Evil laughing maniacally. In addition, a lot of fans noticed that Cardi B didn’t lose her verification.

Furthermore, Elon Musk said that he’s personally paying for a few celebrities to keep their verification without paying. These include LeBron James, Stephen King, and William Shatner, although he didn’t mention the “WAP” star. As such, it’s unclear whether Cardi B is paying for verification or if the tech just hasn’t caught up to her account. Not only that, but TMZ reported that celebrities like The Weeknd and Taylor Swift are paying for their verification.

Nicki Minaj Responds, Doesn’t Mention Cardi B Keeping Twitter Verification

Of course, the difference between Nicki Minaj and Cardi’s Twitter accounts is notable because of their beef. Still, at least Nicki didn’t make too much of a fuss about it. For example, The Game was one of many artists to blast this new move from Musk as a blatant attempt to give the illusion of authenticity for money. “If you bought your verification and I know you personally, delete my number,” the rapper posted on his Instagram Story. “It tells me everything I need to know about you. You a broke cheater- we are not the same.”

Meanwhile, other stars gave similarly cheeky answers to Nicki Minaj’s, but still contained some shade. Doja Cat reacted with trademark sass on Twitter, which is just one example of this phenomenon. “Having a blue tick now means theres a higher chance that you’re a complete loser and that you’re desperate for validation from famous people,” she tweeted. While Cardi hasn’t said anything about keeping her verification, this is sure to send her fanbase into war with Nicki’s. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.

Rappers React To Elon Musk Revoking Blue Twitter Checks

Twitter has been a huge mess for a minute. Ever since Elon Musk took over, the complaints have been nearly non-stop. You can hardly blame those complaining, however. Twitter had established itself as one of the most influential social media outlets ever, and it was extremely functional. Now that Musk is in charge, there seems to be a new issue every day, from dodgy rollouts of new features to straight up trolling. Clearly, Elon Musk was not well-equipped for the kind of position he took on. However, what’s done is done, and his word is the law when it comes to Twitter.

Now, as Musk promised, he has officially removed all blue verification checks from anyone who is not currently paying for them. That includes any and all celebrities and notable figures that may have had them. Kim Kardashian, Drake, and even Beyoncé were all stripped of their verification badges. The only one who seems to have escaped the situation unscathed is LeBron James. Some fine the situation funny, but others think it’s ridiculous. Doja Cat, for example, lost her verification some time ago.

Elon Musk Wants His Bag

When Doja lost her blue check, she did not respond well. “Having a blue tick now means theres a higher chance that you’re a complete loser and that you’re desperate for validation from famous people,” Doja tweeted. Her fans took the chance to troll the singer for losing her check. “Wait ew ur not verified go away normie,” one tweeted. “Since u ain’t famous anymore follow back don’t be shy,” another said. Doja has since pretty much ignored the subject and has gone back to her usual odd tweeting behaviors. She wasn’t the only one who took issue with Elon Musk’s decision, though. Akon also had some choice words.

“Back in the day, Twitter was begging musicians to stay on cause they didn’t have traffic. They came up with a verification process to protect accounts from fakes ones, now @elonmusk is taking that away and forcing us to pay,” Akon’s account tweeted. “FYI, I ain’t paying shit for something we helped build.” However, the singer claimed that his account was hacked. Today, after a sweeping removal of all unpaid blue checks, many rappers have tweeted out their opinions on the matter. What do you think about the outrage? Is it justified or are celebrities just throwing a fit because they no longer feel special? Let us know in the comments!

Elon Musk Reveals When Legacy Verification Will Be Removed

Elon Musk is someone who has been on a crusade to be liked by the masses. However, it hasn’t exactly worked out for him. The average person is tired of his extremely “Reddit” personality that still thinks Doge memes are the pinnacle of humor. Regardless, people like “Catturd” on Twitter find him to be funny, and in the eyes of Elon, that is really all that matters. Although purchasing the social media company has lost him a lot of money, he has been able to do as he pleases with the site.

One of his biggest changes has been in regard to verification. The verification badge has always been about differentiating real people from fakes. Now, however, anybody can buy their way into being verified, which defeats the purpose. Additionally, Elon Musk has made it clear that if you don’t pay up, you will lose your verification, even if you are a notable person with numerous imitators. These people are called “legacy blue checks” and they are on the verge of losing their privileges.

Elon Musk Speaks

Elon Musk had originally stated that blue checks would be removed on April 1st. However, he has subsequently moved up the date. In a tweet, he said, “Final date for removing legacy Blue checks is 4/20.” If you know anything about Elon, you understand that this is extremely predictable and downright eye-roll-worthy. The man is still enjoying 4/20 blaze it MLG montage parodies in 2023, so this is not a shock. Why focus on Twitter stock prices, when you can simply regurgitate memes that were already outdated back in 2013? Truly a pioneer of the tech world and certainly the man who will get us back to outer space.

If you are a famous person and you want to keep that blue check, well you better dig deep for that $8 per month. Otherwise, you will be seen as lesser than accounts called “Canadians Taking Ls” and “Elon’s Biggest Simp.” Let us know what you think about the latest direction of Twitter, in the comments section below. Elon Musk Singles Out The New York Times By Taking Their Verification Away

Elon Musk is someone who is known for being a bit sensitive online. Overall, his entire crusade to buy Twitter has felt like a way to increase his popularity. However, it has ultimately done the opposite. From his cringy boomer memes to his painstaking desire to be taken seriously, Elon has overstayed his internet welcome. Moreover, it does not help at all that he has ruined the platform with some of his policies. One of those policies involves the verification badge that has allowed public figures to stand out from impersonators or parody accounts.

Now, anyone can be verified. This means I can go on Twitter, name myself “Elon Musk” and get myself verified. Subsequently, I could dupe various people into thinking I’m the Tesla billionaire. It’s all very ridiculous and many celebrities like LeBron James have stated that they refuse to pay for the service. This is significant as April 1st marked the day in which Elon promised to strip people of their legacy verification badges. Although Musk is giving some accounts a grace period, there is one organization that he is singling out.

Elon Musk Speaks

Of course, we are talking about none other than the New York Times. Elon Musk hates the newspaper, and on Sunday, he went off on them and their journalistic practices. “Also, their feed is the Twitter equivalent of diarrhea,” Musk wrote. “It’s unreadable. They would have far more real followers if they only posted their top articles. Same applies to all publications.” These comments were made after the media company made it clear that they would not pay for verification. If you want the golden verification that is reserved or big organizations, you have to pay $1,000 per month. For many, this is just a wild cash grab and is not worth it.

Of course, there are thousands of people out there who are siding with Elon, clapping up a storm over his latest decision. At this point, though, it is hard to see this as anything other than a temper tantrum. Let us know what you think of Elon Musk and his management of Twitter, in the comments below.
