Blueface’s Father Provides Hopeful Update On His & Chrisean Rock’s Legal Woes

Both Blueface and Chrisean Rock have found themselves behind bars in recent months, and updates on the iconic duo have since been few and far between. Fortunately, however, Blueface’s father Johnathan Porter Sr recently provided fans with a brief message. In a new Instagram post, he vibes to Kendrick Lamar’s track “Not Like Us” before sharing his hopes for the future.

According to him, he hopes that his son will be released within the next 20 days with time served. He also wishes for Chrisean’s release on the same day. Porter Sr asks supporters to keep them both in their prayers, “so that everybody can have a new start.” At the time of writing, it remains unclear when Blueface will actually be released. He was previously expected to get out on July 2.

Johnathan Porter Sr Hopes Blueface & Chrisean Rock Will Be Released In The Next 20 Days

He turned himself in back in January for an alleged parole violation and has been in custody ever since. Chrisean then attended one of his hearings last month, where she was also arrested. Reportedly, she’s expected to get extradited to Oklahoma after finishing up a 30-day stint in California for alleged assault with a deadly weapon. She was charged in Oklahoma with “possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.”

In his caption, Blueface’s father noted that their son Chrisean Jr. is “missing his mother dearly.” Hopefully, both of them will return home to the 11-month-old sooner rather than later. What do you think of Blueface’s father providing fans with a hopeful update on his son’s legal troubles? What about him revealing that Chrisean Jr. is missing his mother? Childish Gambino & Amaarae Explore New Worlds On Our Latest “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

We hope you had a great Fourth of July weekend whether you’re in the U.S. or not, and what better way to chill out pst-party than with some R&B-adjacent jams? Moreover, our newest update of our R&B Season playlist rounded up the best of the best music drops of the week, starting off big with Childish Gambino’s new single “Lithonia.” The preview for his next album, Bando Stone & The New World, is actually more of an alt-rock-inspired piece with dramatic vocals, grand drums and pianos, and heavy electric guitars. It’s yet another tool in Donald Glover’s ever-expansive box of styles, influences, and skills, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the project holds.

In addition, the R&B world also graced us with an extended version of one of 2023’s best albums with Amaarae’s roses are red, tears are blue expansion of Fountain Baby. There are two particular highlights here we wanted to mention: the summery jam that is “wanted” with Naomi Sharon and the more upbeat and hard-hitting “jehova witness.” Either way, no matter where you look on this project, you’ll find sharp melodies, dreamy sonic atmospheres, and a really peppy approach to song structures. Of course, you’ll also be marveled with the Ghanaian-American singer’s distinctly high and captivating vocal tone.

Elsewhere on our R&B Season playlist update, you’ll also find a new remix of “The Message” from OVO’s Majid Jordan. It’s a pretty chill and measured house track, building up its rattles and stark percs patiently as watery synths stay calmly in the background. The vocal performance, light pianos, and eventual acoustic guitar strums are a very tender addition, and the track never loses its soothing nature. Most importantly, the track’s long runtime gives you plenty of time to lose yourself in the timbres and fall under the song’s spell.

Speaking of intoxicating atmospheres, RAAHiiM and Isaiah Falls go drowsy and sultry with their slow-burning collab, “IMISSTORONTO (Been A While).” Finally, we wanted to point you to SAHXL’s “NEGLIGENT” remix with Kaash Paige, which is probably the most classically R&B-sounding song on our update this week. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season inclusion was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, come back to HNHH for the best new music drops around the clock.

Eminem & Killer Mike Show Off Their Pens On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

The second half of 2024 is musically kicking off with quite a bang, and our latest Fire Emoji playlist update is here to round up the best of the best hip-hop that dropped this week. Moreover, we’re almost at the release date for one of the most anticipated albums of the year: Eminem’s The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce). Marshall Mathers lit a fire under this hype with the Detroit-repping new single “Tobey” with Big Sean and BabyTron. Across three fast and fiery verses, menacing and minimal production, and combative and confident charisma, this is exactly what fans needed to get them ready for the project.

Furthermore, another huge release on Fire Emoji this week was Killer Mike’s “HUMBLE ME,” on which he addresses his controversial Grammys arrest. As far as the sound and progression of this new song, it’s a hard-hitting Southern affair whose distorted sampling and passionate lyrical delivery still retain a lot of soul. Speaking of passion, Trae Tha Truth and J. Cole display bucketloads of it in big and small ways on the “Trae Tha Truth In Ibiza” remix. Through rapid bars, tender sampling, and a laidback and crisp drum pattern, it’s one of the most pleasant listens you’ll find this week in rap music.

But 42 Dugg isn’t concerned with pleasantries, as he and Rylo Rodriguez prove on the bombastic and irreverent “Case Closed.” It’s a highlight on Dugg’s new LP, 4eva Us Neva Them, and make sure you peep the tracklist for more bangers worthy of a Fire Emoji inclusion. In addition, there’s a similar relentless fire and gritty presentation on Rob49, Moneybagg Yo, Skilla Baby, and BossMan Dlow’s “Homebody” remix. While the melody and beat here aren’t much to write home about, these four MCs take up all your attention.

Elsewhere, Quavo and Lana Del Rey surprised many listeners with their moody and genre-fusing collab, “Tough.” Finally, we wanted to shout out KYLE and Hit-Boy’s grounded and reflective chemistry on the chilled-out track, “Dirty.” Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji inclusion was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Drake & Camila Cabello Bring The Summer To Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

Welcome to the second half of 2024, which our new R&B Season playlist is here to commemorate. For this last week of June, we rounded up the best new R&B-related releases to drop around Friday (June 28) for your listening convenience. Of course, we have some big collaborations to talk about first between Drake and Camila Cabello on her new album C,XOXO. “HOT UPTOWN” is their breezy and slightly dancehall-inspired duet that will probably be one of the songs of the summer, whereas Drizzy’s “Uugly” interlude is more of a lonely night after a hot day. In both examples, the melodies and the vocal control is pretty solid.

Elsewhere on our R&B Season playlist update, we also have a new single to enjoy and vibe out to from Tinashe titled “Getting No Sleep.” She’s had a phenomenal year so far, and to see this momentum continue to build and rise is an absolute delight. This new cut continues some of the interesting electronic fusions on BB/ANG3L, building on breathy and soothing vocals with rickety percussion and deep bass. It’s definitely one of the most calm and pleasant sonic atmospheres you’ll hear this week, as well as a solid indicator of what greatness is on the way with Quantum Baby.

In addition, we wanted to shout out the new Lucky Daye album Algorithm for its creative melds of R&B melodies, gritty instrumentation, and woozy soundscapes. In particular, the track “Think Different” is a big highlight thanks to rusty live drum tones, dynamic vocal switches, eerie synth lines, and buzzing bass. Eventually, it builds with more soaring synthesizers, accentuated vocal harmonies, and more exploratory sung licks and drum fills. It’s certainly a very intoxicating and sultry mood, and one that works really well across the whole LP.

We’d be remiss not to mention the new Zacari and BEAM collaboration “Faith + Sight,” which is one of the more minimal but dreamy songs this week. Finally, don’t miss Jeremih, Chris Brown, and Bryson Tiller’s latest jam “Wait On It” for some great chemistry between these R&B mainstays. Let us know what your favorite inclusion was on this week’s playlist update, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Also, come back to HNHH for more great music drops around the clock.

Megan Thee Stallion & Lupe Fiasco Drop Bombs On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

We’re officially halfway through the year, and we couldn’t have asked for a better match of new rap music to round up on our latest Fire Emoji playlist update. Leading the way is Megan Thee Stallion’s new album MEGAN, which has a lot of fiery, dense, and vulnerably triumphant bangers. On that bombastic tip, the catchy flows and bounce on “Figueroa” is a really solid taster you should try out. But if you’re looking for something more chilled-out and lyrically acrobatic, look no further than Lupe Fiasco’s new album Samurai and the tender and breezy highlight “No. 1 Headband” for a mindful experience.

Furthermore, another big Fire Emoji highlight this week is Roddy Ricch’s new single “911,” a warm West Coast-influenced jam with some nice vocal dynamism. Heading down South with a drill flair and light guitars is the latest Latto song of 2024, “Big Mama,” and the flow is pretty infectious. Of course, we’d be remiss not to mention Lil Durk’s new track “Went Hollywood For A Year” and its reflective but confident lyrical matter. While a lot of fans didn’t mess with it as heavily as they wanted, we know that we can never count Smurk out from coming back strong.

Elsewhere on Fire Emoji this week, you can find more surefire heaters like 42 Dugg’s chemistry-filled new collab with Sexyy Red, “N.P.O.” But that’s not the only exciting collaboration this time around; in fact, we got a couple of notable link-ups this Friday (June 28). One of these is Jeezy’s remix of JT’s “OKAY,” a boisterous and grand track that feels all the more larger than life with the Atlanta legend’s contributions. Also, Offset and Gunna continued to show off how well they bounce off one another on their latest record, “Style Rare.”

But while we’re talking about collabs this week, there’s no better example than Lil Yachty and James Blake’s new album Bad Cameo and its title track. Finally, we wanted to highlight yet another great Chance The Rapper single in 2024, as this week’s “Stars Out” and its relaxed style indicates that his upcoming album will be very special. Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji pick was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Chance The Rapper Delivers Massive Update On New Album “Star Line”

Chance The Rapper fans have been waiting for a new album from the hitmaker for years now, and fortunately, it looks like their demands will be answered soon. The Chicago-born performer unveiled a new single from his upcoming LP Star Line earlier this month, “Stars Out.” The track left listeners with high expectations, with many predicting that his next project will mark the start of a major comeback.

During a recent interview with Complex, he discussed Star Line and provided viewers with some exciting new details of the album. He said that it’s mostly finished, meaning that fans will likely get to hear it very shortly. According to him, it’s 83 percent done.

“We’re living in the project right now,” he explained. “The thing is, no one has the attention span for what the conversation needs to be. So I’m piecing it together. I’m living in it with my fans, with the new artists I come in contact with… I’m really enjoying this process time.” Chance went on, revealing why working on his last album wasn’t nearly as enjoyable.

“Sometimes the process time is really stressful and hectic,” he said. “For my last project, I’d just gotten married, I just had a baby, I was about to separate from my management. Like, I had so many things going on and now, it’s not like ain’t sh*t going on — it’s a lot going on — but I’m really able to revel in the creative process and put everything into that and be 100 percent myself and present in the now.” What do you think of Chance The Rapper’s latest update on his upcoming album? Kehlani & Kali Uchis Bless Us On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

While the summer heat becomes no easier to contend with in many North American corners, we’re here to chill you out by rounding up the best of the best R&B-related new music releases of the week on our latest R&B Season playlist update. Obviously, we have a pretty big frontrunner in Kehlani’s highly anticipated new album CRASH, whose best highlights include the title track and “Sucia” featuring Jill Scott and Young Miko. They do a great job of balancing out a lot of different styles here and bringing out the best from their guests, whether they’re a Philly singer-songwriter or a Puerto Rican sensation in the latter song’s case.

Meanwhile, we also wanted to shout out the new Kali Uchis single “Never Be Yours,” a reimagined version of one of her Drunken Babble cuts from all the way back in 2012. It’s a testament to the Colombian-Virginian’s enduring songwriting talents and the longevity of her artistry that everything about the song holds up to this day. Whether it’s the new melodic and production approach, though, there are still plenty of fresh elements for longtime fans to discover. Definitely don’t miss out on blasting this R&B jam next time you’ve got the sun in your face; don’t knock it ’til you try it!

Elsewhere on R&B Season this week, we’ve got a new project from Maeta to talk about, the KAYTRANADA-produced Endless Night. You definitely feel that signature touch all throughout this seven-track offering, and the title track in particular is one of the more fitting and successful link-ups here. There are some really nice and warm chords anchoring things together as whistling synthesizers fade in and out. There’s been a lot of KAYTRA to enjoy as of late, and we’re especially not complaining when the Indianapolis singer joins the fun.

Then, we also have Fridayy’s new single “Baddest In The Room” to discuss, one of the more vocally passionate cuts this week. Finally, we wanted to salute The 80s (comprised of James Fauntleroy and No ID) for their re-release of The Pursuit, their collaborative project that contains one heck of a calmer with the Snoh Aalegra-assisted “Blue.” Let us know what your favorite R&B Season pick was this week, as well as what we missed, down in the comments section below. Mustard & GloRilla Are Electric On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

The summer’s only getting hotter, and we have a slew of scorching new hip-hop releases to cover on our latest Fire Emoji playlist update this week. Moreover, leading the way is the latest collaboration from Mustard and Travis Scott, “Parking Lot,” the latter of which is celebrating a very successful “Pop Out” with Kendrick Lamar and friends in Los Angeles on Juneteenth. In addition, we have yet another GloRilla banger to talk about this year, and “TGIF” might be her best single of the year so far. Thanks to grand horn and string samples, deep bass hits, minimal snares, and more vocal charisma than any of us could ever muster, it’s an absolute smasher.

Furthermore, Fire Emoji held no shortage of trunk-knockers and stankface-inducers this week, such as the expansive, hectic, and icy “Gimme A Second 2” from Rich The Kid, Ty Dolla $ign, and Kanye West. Ye’s “sexist” bar might be a stinker, but hey, bad lyrics don’t always stop a jam from sounding off. Next up is the newest single from Ice Spice: the fast-flowing “Phat Butt,” which is yet another taster of her upcoming album Y2K. As far as some new and unexpected collaborations this week, IDK and Gunna delivered with the breezy and effortlessly chill “TiFFANY.”

Elsewhere on Fire Emoji, you’ll find Detroit hard-hitters like Tee Grizzley and his new single, the melancholy but determined “Robbery 7.” We won’t spoil what direction it goes around the halfway point, but just know that the energy shift is pretty infectious. All the Memphis fans out there also got more representation on this playlist update, such as Key Glock’s new bouncy cut “Big Big Money.” As for where this next summery jam belongs, a title like “105 West” and a cast comprising of Jay Worthy, DāM FunK, A-Trak, Ty Dolla $ign, Channel Tres, and DJ Quik should make it pretty obvious.

Meanwhile, 6LACK wears his ambitions and introspection on his sleeve on his new musical statement, “F**k The Rap Game.” Finally, we wanted to shout out the legends Rakim, Kurupt, and Masta Killa for keeping the old-school alive on this playlist update with “BE ILL.” Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji release was this week, as well as what we missed, down in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, come back to HNHH for more killer rap drops around the clock.

Normani & NxWorries Are All Yours On Our New “R&B Season” Playlist Update: Stream

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there, who deserve to relax with our new R&B Season playlist update and the best of the best music releases this week from the rhythm and blues world. For this, Normani came in clutch with her long-awaited and finally manifested debut album, DOPAMINE. While there are plenty of highlights throughout, one that particularly caught our ear is the fast-flowing and woozy “All Yours.” It keeps a pretty consistently ethereal trap vibe instrumentally, but thanks to subtle vocal harmonies and catchy melodies, it becomes a much more lush experience throughout. It’s a must-listen LP from this week that will probably get stuck in your head quick.

Speaking of must-listen projects, R&B Season‘s next inclusion is another highly anticipated release: Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge suiting up as NxWorries once more for their new album, Why Lawd? Moreover, we already spoke on this briefly on our Fire Emoji playlist update if you caught it; if you didn’t check it out with the link at the end of this article. But we’d be remiss not to shout out this versatile record for its multiple achievements and moods. “KeepHer” featuring Thundercat is absolutely sultry, achieving a sense of chemistry and warmth that always hits hard when these artists enter a studio.

Another hot R&B-adjacent cut on our playlist update comes from new sensation Tommy Richman, who followed up the smash hit “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” with another 2000s-flavored banger, “DEVIL IS A LIE.” However, there’s a moody, laidback, and genre-fusing approach to this new single that makes the track still keep its modern sheen. Once again, Richman’s vocal chops are a main event here, but the bouncy and slightly West Coast-inspired beat, complete with fuzzy synth chords and even some string embellishments, does a lot to engage. It’s a shame it’s short, but it’s also what makes it such an earworm.

Meanwhile, Khalid gave us another single this week with the slow-burning and atmospheric “Adore U.” Finally, we wanted to highlight “Greedy” by Marsha Ambrosius for its soulful combination of sharp snares, orchestral movements, and spotlit vocal arrangements. Let us know what your favorite R&B Season inclusion was, as well as what else we missed this week, down in the comments section below. Check the playlist out above and, as always, come back to HNHH for the latest great music drops around the clock.

Don Toliver & NxWorries Go Wild On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

Father’s Day weekend held some banger releases in the hip-hop world, and our new Fire Emoji playlist update is here to round up the best of the best. The two big blockbuster releases in most people’s eyes this week are some highly anticipated albums, including Don Toliver’s HARDSTONE PSYCHO. Moreover, it’s a thrilling addition to the discography that takes things in a new direction compared to last year’s Love Sick, and “PURPLE RAIN” with Future and Metro Boomin and “ICE AGE” with Travis Scott are standouts. Also, there’s Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge’s return as NxWorries with Why Lawd? and their stellar track “WalkOnBy” with Earl Sweatshirt and Rae Khalil.

Furthermore, speaking of Fire Emoji albums, LUCKI dropped off his GEMINI! project this week, which is just as hard as you’d expect. In particular, his collab with Lil Yachty, “BIGGAVEL,” is a bouncy and woozy jam that shows off a lot of chemistry. There’s a similar tempo and dreaminess to Lil Gotit, Young Thug, and Lil Keed’s “Twisting Our Fingers,” complete with muddy bass and infectious flows. However, if you’re looking for something on a similar tip that’s a bit more moody and minimal, Cash Cobain, Chow Lee, and Bay Swag have you covered with their latest single, “act bad twin!”

Elsewhere on FIRE EMOJI, we also wanted to shout out the latest release from Moneybagg Yo, his album SPEAK NOW. While there’s some solid variety and versatility here, there’s nothing like the slow Memphis trap drawl paired with emphatic delivery on cuts like “TABOO MIAMI.” Shifting gears a little bit, we also wanted to highlight Headie One’s melancholy and more lyrically dense single, “I Still Know Better.” As the title suggests, it’s a pretty introspective cut reflecting on the contradictions, powers, and triumphs of his career, and the work that’s still yet to be done.

Meanwhile, LL Cool J threw things back a little with his “Saturday Night Special” single featuring Rick Ross and Fat Joe. Finally, Byron Messia tapped Lil Baby and Rvssian for the dancehall-inspired “Choppa,” which still has some grit to it in the verses.
