Logan Paul calls out Floyd Mayweather for alleged nonpayment of fight money

Logan Paul Flolyd Mayweather

Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather may be set up for a new kind of fight, but this time it might be in a courtroom rather than a ring.

Speaking to reporters at the opening of New York’s Hard Rock Hotel, Paul told reporters that Mayweather has not paid him what he is fully owed from last year’s fight. Paul said, “He [Mayweather] has not paid me in full. That is a fact…short a few mil.”

Paul did not say specifically how much money he’s still owed, but it was reported last May that he would earn 10 percent of the fight’s PPV shares, which was estimated to be about $5 million.

When asked if Paul had been in contact with Mayweather regarding the money, Paul said “nah…we’re taking this one to court.” He then addresses the reporter’s camera directly and said “See you in the courtroom. Congrats you’re going to prison, Floyd.”

The full video, courtesy of TMZ Sports, can be seen here.

He then continued to speak about the hotel’s culinary offerings, including bull’s testicles.

The fight between Mayweather and Paul took place in June of 2021. While no official winner was declared, ESPN unofficially scored the bout 78-74 for Mayweather.

Rhymefest, who was born in Chicago, has had several big singles, including the 2006 song “Brand New,” which featured Kanye West. He also starred in Emilio Estevez’s 2018 film The Public, which was written and directed by him, and was a central figure in Kanye West’s Netflix documentary “Jeen-Yuhs.”

“I’m proud to be a part of the ‘Gold Blooded’ family. They’ve assembled an all-star musical team and I know how to be a team player. I’m looking forward to bringing all my talents, skills and relationships as we re-create the future of hip-hop,” said Rhymefest.

Fans Rush Stage, Abruptly Ending Playboi Carti Concert

Playboi Carti

As the world returns to normal and in-person concerts pick back up just in time for the summer, it seems that many of the same problems that have plagued other concerts in the past seem to persist. This weekend, Playboi Carti‘s performance at the Smokers Club Festival in San Bernardino on Saturday.

The issues started when a group of people attempted to rush the VIP section of the performance, but were quickly stopped by security. However, Instagram video footage shows the crows pressing forward against a barrier.

Carti’s mic was cut shortly after taking the stage at about 7 pm and Instagram footage shows a security staff member takes over the PA system and asks for fans to move back, which they do not do.

Carti had performed just two songs before his set was cancelled.

No serious injuries were reported and no arrests were made. The caution appears to have come following the tragic deaths of those at the Astroworld festival in fall of 2021.

Other notable acts who performed at the event include A$AP Rocky, Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, and more.

Ashanti Doubles Down on Song Writing Credits for Jennifer Lopez

Ashanti 1

Ashanti has been a force in the R&B industry since the 90s. Around the time Ashanti was on the scene, Jennifer Lopez, aka JLo, would simultaneously be making a name for herself in the industry as the new edgy and beautiful talent. Her contributions to the R&B world would also influence the hip-hop culture, from famous collaborations with Murda Inc to her debut solo album that carries hits such as Foolish, Baby, Happy, and more.

While JLo has created her success in her career, many fans of the two sometimes don’t know that Ashanti contributed to singles such as “I’m Real” and “Aint it Funny.”

In an interview with Metro UK, Ashanti, who just received her star on the Hollywood walk of fame, explained the feeling behind receiving recognition for her songwriting credits.

“You should always care about credit for what you do regardless of what industry you’re in, it’s really important to give credit,” she stated. “Especially nowadays because things are so smoke and mirrors. It’s not that it’s frustrating… the word has been getting out there over the past couple of years and I’m grateful so a lot of people know and they were surprised but it’s more of a ‘yeah, grateful that you know.’

“It’s weird because obviously you get frustrated for not getting credit or not being properly labeled but then that turns into something you get admired for,” she continued.

Aside from her receiving her props for her early contributions, in an interview with The Breakfast Club in 2021, the singer revealed that she would be re-recording all of the songs on her debut self titled album so that she can own the master’s and rights to her music ahead of its 20th anniversary.
