DJ Akademiks Responds To Rape Lawsuit, Implies Big Institutions Are Out To Get Him

DJ Akademiks has been dealing with a severe lawsuit that includes allegations of rape, sexual assault and defamation. The accuser is former girlfriend, Fauziya “Ziya” Abashe, in which she essentially describes a night that went south. Abashe claims that after not seeing Ak for about year, she was invited to his house on July 16, 2022. Additionally, the lawsuit details a disturbing series of events, as she says she was drugged by two of Ak’s friends. After allegedly being raped by both of them, she was awakened by DJ Akademiks around 4 a.m. Furthermore, it gruesomely explains that he was allegedly “pulling her hair, prying open her legs, and brutally raping her.”

After declining to speak with Rolling Stone after their piece, he went on livestream to respond to these allegations. During his animated diatribe, he seems to be implying that Roc Nation and Tyrone Blackburn are hunting him. The latter is the attorney who has been representing Lil Rod in the infamous Diddy situation. In the clip below, Akademiks is seemingly alluding to the fact that Blackburn is also the one representing Abashe. If you remember, numerous reports came out that he was being critiqued for the salacious lawsuits he was using. In an article from Baller Alert, the federal judge overseeing the hearings was suggesting that he was trying to attract media buzz and “embarrass defendants” instead of seeking justice.

DJ Akademiks Suggests That He Is Being Targeted

In terms of the Roc Nation post above, Akademiks also is suggesting that the famous label is out to slander his name. This belief presumably stems from the fact that the media pundit has been critical of the Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez situation. The CEO of Roc Nation, Desiree Perez, is also on the Rolling Stone Culture Council. Of course, that is where the main report about the lawsuit came from earlier today. Overall, Akademiks’ implications in regard to Perez and Blackburn do not hold any concrete evidence. That could change, but for now, this is simply hearsay from Ak. Diddy To Be “Indicted Soon,” Lil Rod’s Attorney Alleges

Rodney “Lil Rod” Smith’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, claims Diddy will face an indictment “soon.” He said as much to Page Six when the outlet asked him about his client’s reckless homicide conviction from 2003 and other charges throughout the years. Blackburn explained that Rod “did not have adequate legal representation” at the time. Lil Rod is currently suing Diddy for $30 million with allegations of sexual assault stemming from a time when he was reportedly working on Diddy’s The Love Album: Off The Grid, from September 2022 to November 2023.

“I am sure you know that a charge is not a conviction,” Blackburn, who has faced scrutiny over his litigation tactics in the past, told the outlet. “So, running this story on behalf of [Diddy’s camp] is problematic and calls into question your integrity as a journalist. Mr. Jones’ July 2003 reckless homicide occurred when he was 17 years old. He was driving a vehicle with his cousin in the passenger seat. The police pulled him over, but he was afraid and drove off. It was pretty typical behavior for a young black boy in Chicago when pulled over by the police. As a result, he totaled the vehicle, and his cousin, who was his best friend, died.”

Blackburn continued: “He has to live with the guilt of the death of his best friend and family member for the rest of his life. But don’t let that stop you from running this story and getting your clicks. [Diddy’s] legal team can do nothing to distract from the fact that he will be indicted soon.”

Diddy has adamantly denied the allegations against him for months. His attorney, Shawn Holley, previously told Page Six that Lil Rod “is nothing more than a liar” and accused him of “shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday.” Blackburn’s comments on a possible indictment come after Homeland Security agents raided Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami, last month. Last week, a development out of the Southern District of New York, attorney Tyrone Blackburn, known for representing plaintiffs in high-profile cases against celebrities, has been scrutinized. Often in the limelight for his representation of plaintiffs against prominent figures like Sean “Diddy” Combs, Nicki Minaj, TI and Tiny, and Tiffany Haddish, Blackburn faced criticism in a court filing issued by Judge Denise Cote.

The filing, made in the case of ALEKSANDAR ZUNZUROVSKI v. LIANE FISHER, ET AL., chastised Blackburn’s behavior, alleging a pattern of improperly filed cases aimed at attracting media attention and pressuring defendants to settle quickly. Furthermore, the filing pointed out instances where Blackburn allegedly failed to meet his Rule 11 obligations and admitted to filing cases in federal court to increase media coverage. Judge Cote’s opinion and order explicitly stated that Blackburn’s conduct warranted referral to the Grievance Committee of the Southern District of New York.
