In the past few weeks, Amazon Music Live has become appointment viewing for music fans. Streaming on Prime Video immediately after Thursday Night Football, the weekly concert series is the go-to show to watch new, rising, and established stars perform their latest. After returning with a lineup including Jelly Roll, Big Sean, Halsey, and J Balvin, Amazon Music has announced the next pair of performers that will follow in 2024.

On November 15, Gunna will take the stage as he completes his One Of Dem Nights Tour, while on November 21, K-pop sensations TWICE will become the first performers from their genre to perform on Amazon Music Live. As usual, Actress Liza Koshy will be interviewing each guest ahead of their performances, and you can follow @amazonmusic on socials for more exclusive content.

Each episode streams live on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch at 9 PM PT on Thursdays, preceded by the Amazon Music Tonight! pre-show on Twitch at 8.

In addition to completing his recent tour, Gunna appears to be rolling out an extension of his new album, One Of Wun, after dropping the single “Him All Along” earlier this month. Meanwhile, TWICE’s recently released album With YOU-th topped the Billboard 200 this spring, giving the pop band their first-ever US No. 1.

The honorees for the annual Billboard Women In Music Awards have been announced, as a new class of women celebrate a year of making their mark on the music industry. Set for March 1, 2023, at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, and hosted by Quinta Brunson — who’s making quite the mark of her own in television — the Women In Music Awards acknowledge the artists who have had an outstanding year.

This year’s honorees include Latin music star Becky G, who will receive the Impact Award; genre-breaking rapper Doechii, who will receive the Rising Star Award; reggaeton pioneer Ivy Queen, who will receive the Icon Award; pop singer Kim Petras, who will receive the Chartbreaker Award; Atlanta rap hitmaker Latto, who will receive the Powerhouse Award; country music rising star Lainey Wilson, who will receive the Rulebreaker Award; Lana Del Rey, who will receive the Visionary Award; and K-pop girl group TWICE, who will receive the Breakthrough Award. The night’s performers will be announced at a later date.

Previous recipients of Women In Music honors include Doja Cat, HER, and Saweetie, all of whom performed at least year’s show. Which Artists Got Their First Gold Or Platinum Award In 2022?

2022 was an unusual year for music. Despite more records being released than ever before, there were only a handful of new hits; Billboard recorded only a dozen new No. 1 singles, while only new 23 albums reached the top of the Billboard 200. Those numbers reflected a dip from prior years, thanks to many of the songs and albums that topped the charts reigning for weeks at a time.

Meanwhile, the Recording Industry Association of America recently welcomed its “class of 2022” — the artists who earned their first Gold or Platinum certification last year. Among the 39 performers are TikTok favorites like Armani White, Bella Poarch, and GAYLE, while runaway success GloRilla stayed “F.N.F.” all the way to her own first certification. International artists also broke in a big way stateside with Afrobeats crooners Fireboy DML and Rema joining K-pop girl group TWICE in racking up the plaques.

A Gold certification denotes 500,000 units sold, while a Platinum record has sold 1,000,000 units. In the streaming era, one album sale is calculated as 1,500 on-demand audio and/or video song streams, which also counts as 10 track sales. In order for a qualifying track or album to be certified, often a label must request certification, so technically there might be one or two songs out there that qualify but were not certified.
