Lil Tay Revealed To Be Alive, Claims Instagram Was Hacked

Tay “Lil Tay” Tian is reportedly alive and well, according to a statement from her family given to TMZ. The 14-year-old was a viral sensation back in 2018. She became famous for posting videos “flexing” her wealth and status. However, amid a nasty custody battle between her mother Angela Tian and her father Christopher Hope, Lil Tay’s social media accounts fell silence. Many people claimed at the time that her parents had exploited their daughter for internet fame. The cessation of Lil Tay content concided with interviews in which Tian claimed she was being abused. Furthermore, there was backlash to videos in which Tian, who was 9 at the time, used the n-word.

However, it came as a shock to many as Tian’s Instagram page posted for the first time since 2018 on August 9. The posted announced the news that Tian and her brother Jason had died unexpectedly. The news was met with equal parts grief and skepticism. Tian’s father seemingly refused to confirm her death when contact by the media. Meanwhile, law enforcement in both LA and Vancouver stated that they had not received any notification of deaths matching Tian and her brother. Well, it appears we know why given Tian and her brother are seemingly not dead.

Lil Tay Gives Statement

“I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say. It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess,” Tian said in a statement to TMZ. “My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not “Claire Hope”.”

However, the announcement has left questions for some people. Firstly, if this was an Instagram hack, why did her father not simply deny the rumors? Secondly, some have pointed to the “hacking” excuse as a pretty common deflection when someone messes up on social media. But, at the time of writing, all we know is what TMZ has been told. Tian’s family is claiming it was a malicious Instagram and nothing more. This remains a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop.

Flavor Flav Shows Up At Taylor Swift Concert And Hugs Her Parents

It seems like absolutely everyone wants to get their chance to see Taylor Swift on the “Eras Tour.” Just last week Swift herself shared a precious moment with Kobe Bryant’s daughter. During his lifetime Kobe was outspoken in his support of Taylor and she often returned the favor. Last month NFL superstar Travis Kelce turned up to one of Swift’s shows and took to social media to share how big of a fan he is. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end even tried to give Taylor his number, to no avail.

Someone else you might not expect to be a Swiftie is Flavor Flav. The rap legend doesn’t necessarily seem like the type to be into Taylor’s music but he’s been vocal about his love for her for a while. Back in June he showed up at a stop on the tour in Detroit and got plenty of attention for being there. On Monday, he was once again in the crowd for another one of Taylor’s shows, this time at So-Fi stadium. According to TMZ, he became somewhat of an ambassador for Swifties passing out guitar picks, bracelets, and buttons to the crowd. Earlier this year Flav attended the iHeartRadio Music Awards. In further proof of his Taylor Swift fandom he donned a shirt with her lyrics on it. Flavor Flav recently celebrated a number of sobriety milestones. His three years sober from alcohol and cigarettes also happens to align with an incredible 15 years sober from drugs. Flav has often spoke in detail about his battles with various substances and journey to sobriety.

Earlier this year Flavor Flav made a notable donation to Harvard. During a visit to the school, he gifted them his iconic clock chain. One fan, in particular, got his potential, an 11-year-old named Winter. The fan couldn’t have possibly foreseen what was coming though. Post gave her just about the coolest thing possible, the guitar he used to perform that night. TMZ shared cellphone video of the exchange and caught up with the fan and her mother afterward. It turns out that they’ve been to 5 of Post’s shows before. While they’ve seen him give away smashed guitars to fans, they couldn’t believe he took the still intact guitar right off his back and gave it to Winter.

Post Malone just dropped his new album AUSTIN last week. Two of the album’s singles “Mourning” and “Chemical” have hung around in the Hot 100 since they first dropped. The album is set up to achieve even more chart success soon. It’s expected to sell over 100k copies in its first week. Those numbers could get it as high as number 2, behind Travis Scott’s UTOPIA. Last week Jennifer Lopez had her 54th birthday, but the actual celebrations are still ongoing. Over the weekend she threw a party with close friends and family to celebrate. According to TMZ, the party took place in the $60 million mansion that she and Ben Affleck bought earlier this year. In a new video that made its way to the internet, J-Lo is totally feeling herself. She can be seen dancing on a table to the sounds of Lizzo’s 2022 smash hit “About Damn Time.”

The first taste we got of Jennifer Lopez’s birthday celebrations came from her own Instagram. She posted some of her own table dancing pics as well as some incredible bikini looks.  “Birthday mood…all month!! Always a good day when Lola comes to play… #OnTheJLo: Birthday Edition coming soon,” the caption of the post read. Fans were pretty quick to praise the singer and actress and wish her happy birthday. The post has already collected over 1.5 million likes and is full of positive comments.

But the post wasn’t all love. Many comments on almost anything J-Lo puts out on her social media page have to do with her alcohol brand. Many fans have taken issue with her decision to put her name behind a line of spritzers for two reasons. In that piece, they claimed that Tom Brady and Shayk were together for the better part of a wedding back in June. At the time that was seen as nothing but rumors and shut down by Shayk’s manager. But now it seems the pair have given fans a reason to believe there’s something going on after all. The Daily Mail went as far as to report that the pair are now dating. Nelly Sells Half His Music Catalog For $50 Million

Artists selling their entire musical catalogs are becoming increasingly common. Some artists in particular have netted absolutely massive paydays for their musical works. Just yesterday, NLE Choppa speculated that he could sell his entire catalog for $1 billion, a figure that many fans contested. Now a new sale puts that number into perspective. According to TMZ, Nelly has sold a 50% share of his musical catalog for $50 million. His discography includes 8 albums, 6 of which debuted in the top 10 and three of which hit number 1 on the Billboard 200.

Nelly’s collection also includes four number-one songs. His first number-one hit “Hot In Herre” has been certified 2x Platinum. His discography also includes 6 other top 10 singles, the most recent of which is “Just A Dream” which peaked at number 3 back in 2010. The sale is being facilitated by a company called HarbourView Equity Partners. Many artists like Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Michael Jackson have sold their catalogs in the past. This enables their songs to be licensed out for things like commercials.

Nelly Gets $50 Million For His Music

This sale comes right on the heels of Nelly’s debut album Country Grammar turning 23. Three of the album’s singles made it to the top 15 of the Hot 100 and two of them even made it to the Top 10. The song “Ride Wit Me” featuring City Spud peaked at number 3 and was one of Nelly’s earliest smash hits. The album and it’s follow-up Nellyville are still massive fan favorites.

A few weeks ago Nelly showed up at CNN’s Juneteenth celebration. While there he performed his classic hit “Dilemma” alongside Chloe Bailey. Some viewers of the performance thought that Chole was over-singing and wished the track’s original performer Kelly Rowland had been there instead. Young Fly Attributes Ability To Keep Working To Strength From God

“You know, God is the greatest. He has granted me the strength to keep going. I gotta take care of my babies. That’s the key to life. You gotta keep going, stay prayed up, and never let the tragedies and stuff you’re going through get you down. We healin’, we emotional. People wanna see my cry. I’m just not gonna record myself crying. Of course I’m gonna cry, I’m crying all the time. But I’d rather show positivity and let people know that God is the greatest. The TMZ reporter then coyly asked if Young Fly believes if Jacky’s death will deter people from undergoing the same procedures. “If they’re paying attention, it should. But you know, some people use people as lessons and and others just get on with their lives. But I just want people to take care of themselves. Make sure you make the best decision for you and your family. And always keep God first,” Young Fly continued before leaving.

Nicki Minaj Called Out TMZ For Their ‘Dummy” Behavior After Reporting On A Pending Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

Britney Spears isn’t the only musician who’s had an issue with TMZ. Nicki Minaj has also had enough of her name being attached to the outlet’s reporting. The “Barbie World” rapper took to Twitter to share a piece of her mind with the organization.

In a new article on their site, TMZ reported that Minaj was currently being hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit over her 2014 song “I Lied,” which was featured on her album The Pinkprint. Although budding musician Julius Johnson is bringing forth the suit, Minaj urged TMZ to use their better judgment when attaching her to the story.

“Do I make beats? You first on the list, dummy 🥳,” she wrote in a tweet.

In the case, Johnson alleges that the beat for the track is a rip-off of a song of his released years prior. Minaj wants to know why the TMZ piece used her name instead of the song’s producer Mike Will Made It.

According to a source close to TMZ, a representative for Minaj echoed this, saying, ” Clearly Nicki is a lyricist, so the claim in terms of production will obviously have to be addressed by the applicable parties.”

Minaj later tweeted, “Distractions. Muva be knowin 😩😂” — a move to assure fans she will not be devoting any more time to addressing rumors from TMZ. That should give her time to tend to her forthcoming album, due in October.
