She played the role of Simba, dazzling the crowd with a performance of the soundtrack staple “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.” North did so in a furry tan costume, recently replicated by her mother Kim.
Yesterday, the SKIMS founder took to social media to share a series of photos of herself posing in a strikingly similar look, down to North’s huge fuzzy hat and bag. She changed it up slightly, adding her own unique pair of matching tan legwarmers, though their outfits were still nearly identical. Not everyone is impressed by her take on the costume, however.
While many fans find the photos fun and believe Kim is simply using her daughter as a source of inspiration, others are accusing her of trying to steal North’s spotlight. They’re out in full force in the Kardashians star’s comments section, putting her on blast for her apparent style biting. “You couldn’t let your daughter have a moment u had to wear it too,” one critical Instagram user writes. “One thing she gone do is upstage her daughter cause she bought the stage,” another says.

Disney added yet another celebrity child to their casting ranks. This coming December, Blue Ivy Carter will co-star alongside her mother, Beyoncé, in Mufasa: The Lion King. Before the CGI-animated prequel hits theaters, lovers of The Lion King were treated to another musical dose of the classic film.
Yesterday (May 24), North West joined in on the fun as part of the film’s 30th anniversary show (Disney’s The Lion King 30th Anniversary – A Live-to-Film Concert Event) at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. In the role of Young Simba, West displayed both her acting and singing skills performing one of the movie’s breakout song, “I Just Can’t Wait to be King.”

In the sold-out crowd, West received support from both of her famous family, including dad Ye (better known as Kanye West), mother Kim Kardashian, and grandmother Kris Jenner. As she left the stage, Kim was waiting close by to embrace her daughter following her major accomplishment.
On Instagram, Kim continued the love by uploading images of the flower arrangement sent to West, along with custom cookies made with West’s face.

This is not West’s first venture into entertainment. Near the top of the year, she appeared on her father and Ty Dolla Sign’s song “Talking/Once Again.” However, West’s casting marked her debut musical role.

According to TMZ, the eldest child portrayed the role of Simba from one of Disney’s greatest films as part of a 30th Anniversary concert. The Lion King will officially turn three decades old June 24 and to help commemorate it, Disney created this two-day event. It kicked off yesterday (May 24) and will run through tonight at the famous Hollywood Bowl amphitheater in Los Angeles. Furthermore, it is serving double duty as a way to promote the live action film Mufasa: The Lion King out on December 20.

In Disney’s The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl, fans will experience life in the Pride Lands as a full orchestra performs Hans Zimmer’s rousing musical score led by conductor Sarah Hicks.
