Common Gets Candid About Potentially Marrying Jennifer Hudson

Common and Jennifer Hudson have been going strong for several months now, and it looks like the duo is not opposed to taking things to the next level. During a radio appearance last month, the rapper said that if he were to get married, Hudson would be his wife. He’d have to be positive that it was the best decision for both of them, however.

Earlier this week, Common appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show. Of course, Hudson had some follow-up questions. “I was asked about marriage, and I just answered honestly,” he explained. “I said—you know what? You told me a quote that your mother said. ‘A man knows what he wants.’ And I was just saying my true feelings about—listen, Jennifer is the person. If I should be married, it will be to Jennifer Kate Hudson. I was just being honest.”

As for how Hudson feels about all of this, she claims her late mother would approve. “My mother was right,” she said. “I think if she had met you, she’d say, ‘I don’t know about the rest of them but that Common is alright with me.’ That’s what she would say! And I would agree. I think it’s a beautiful thing. I think you’re a deserving man. And I support that idea. That’s a beautiful idea… In due time. If it ever gets to that place.”

“I’m listening to God more and more,” Common also added. “I know what purpose is. A mother’s love is unconditional. But according to Wiz Khalifa, so is their level of cool. The “We Dem Boyz” rapper is known for his laid-back, easy going personality. But in his eyes, he is simply an extension of his mother, Peachie Wimbush’s free spirit.

Yesterday (May 17), during his appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Wiz outlined just how down to Earth his mother is, which included a family trip to the strip club. As Hudson and Wiz discussed Mother’s Day, the musician gushed about their tight-knit relationship.

“Mother’s Day is every day for my mom,” he said. “Peachie’s a superstar. If you meet her, you’ll fall in love with her. So every day is her day. Me and my mom do everything together.”

When asked what mother and son quality time consisted of, Wiz answered: “We go to the strip club together, we went to Mexico. We went to Coachella together. We do everything. That’s my dog.”

Well, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. When it comes to parenting his son, Sebastian (whom he shares with Amber Rose), Wiz confessed that he’s also a cool dad. Earlier in the interview, he talked about throwing a West Coast gangsta themed party, fulled with low riders and more.

During a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Wiz Khalifa opened up about his incredibly close relationship with his mom in honor of Mother’s Day. While viewers were certainly touched by his praise for the woman who raised him, Peachy, many were also taken aback by just how close they actually are. During the interview, the rapper explained that while they enjoy spending time together doing typical mother-son activities, they also like to branch out. According to him, they even go to strip clubs together for some unexpected family bonding.

“Mother’s Day every day for my mom,” he tells Hudson in a clip from the interview. “Peachy’s a superstar. If you meet her, you’ll fall in love with her. Me and my mom do everything together. We go to the strip club together, we went to Mexico, we went to Coachella together. We do everything. That’s my dawg.”

A strip club may not be everybody’s ideal spot to spend time with their mother, but evidently, Wiz Khalifa isn’t alone. Earlier this week, Lil Meech celebrated his Mother’s Day with his mom and grandmother at Magic City in Atlanta. He shared some clips of them alongside a few scantily clad dancers on Instagram. Of course, the seemingly bizarre choice riled some fans up online, with many debating whether or not it was an appropriate location to bring one’s mother or grandmother. Luckily, the two ladies at least appeared to enjoy their visit, though the consensus was that it was a questionable choice.

Common & Jennifer Hudson Confirm Relationship In Upcoming Interview

Common and Jennifer Hudson confirmed their relationship in an upcoming interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show that will air in full on Monday. The news comes after nearly two years of speculation about whether they are dating. Hudson shared a teaser for the interview on Instagram, on Sunday.

“Let’s get down to business, Mr. Common,” Hudson jokes in the clip. “I’m a host, and so I have to ask you this question, because everybody always wants to know this. Are you dating anyone?” From there, Common responds: “So, yes. And I’m in a relationship that is (with) one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met, in life. She’s smart. She loves God. She has something real down to earth about her. She’s talented. But I set my standard kind of high because she had to have an EGOT. She had to win an Oscar on her first movie. I set my stand high. She had to get her own talk show.”

In a further preview, as noted by PEOPLE, Common adds: “This relationship is a happy place for me. Seeing her happy actually makes me really happy. So, I’m very grateful. 40-year-old Actress and musician Jennifer Hudson’s new talk show will air September 12. The series will debut on the Fox TV stations as its core station group.

“The Jennifer Hudson Show” will be produced by the same minds behind “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which ended its run after 19 years on the air, as reported by Variety.

The “Spotlight” singer took to social media with excitement to confirm the news.

“I can’t believe I get to say this, but welcome to my show !!! Let’s light up daytime beginning September 12th ! Wait a minute that’s my birthday !!!”

Hudson is fresh off becoming an EGOT winner after taking home a Tony award last weekend.

An EGOT means a person has won a Grammy, an Emmy, a Tony and an Oscar.

“The Jennifer Hudson Show” will debut on her birthday, September 12 on FOX.
