Janelle Monáe is bringing a whole new meaning to the holiday spirit, as they’re quite literally wearing it on their face. Moreover, they shared a new video of them donning a full costume of The Grinch that looks like it could’ve appeared in a live-action film of it. It’s unclear whether the singer and actress will use this fit for something grander or if they just wanted to pop off and go a little bit harder on the “a very extra Christmas” front. Either way, the results certainly speak for themselves, and we can’t imagine what they might do as an on-screen Grinch. After all, the Kansas City native is intertwining the worlds of movies and music more than ever these days.

Whether this Grinch outfit is for a video, some promo material, or just for fun, we’re glad that they’re celebrating with style and joy. This was an excellent year for Janelle Monae: their album The Age Of Pleasure, while not as conceptually daunting as previous work, still ranks as one of 2023’s best, waviest, and most soothing auditory offerings. In addition, they also caused a lot of noise with their tour and proudly stamped their identity into the industry as always. Hopefully 2024 yields even more great things in whatever artistic lane will be tackled next.

Lizzo has been going through quite a few allegations as of late as it pertains to her conduct and the way she treats her employees. Overall, there are dancers on her team who have accused her of sexual coercion. Moreover, there have also been allegations of fatphobia. These are all things that go against what Lizzo is supposed to stand for. However, the artist has clapped back at these lawsuits and allegations. She claims she did nothing wrong, and she has continued to go on about her business.

At this stage, it seems like fans are coming around to the artist again. While there are those who are a bit suspicious thanks to the allegations, others are still very much on the Lizzo train. She is likely working on a new album, and she is still getting co-signs from the likes of Beyonce. Needless to say, she is not going anywhere, at least not right now. In fact, she has been very active on social media. For instance, she just came through with some snaps of her dressed as The Grinch.

Of course, The Grinch is an iconic character in the Dr. Seuss universe. It is a Christmas staple, and while it may not be Halloween, it is cool to see Lizzo embrace the character. It all makes for a really great look that embodies the character perfectly. However, the character choice may come as a bit ironic to some given the allegations that are out there right now.

Among the best Nike Kobe 6 colorways of all time would have to be the “Grinch” color scheme. This is a model that was released years ago and immediately made a huge impact on sneaker culture. Subsequently, there was a retro recently that frustrated fans quite a bit. It was hard to secure a pair and this even angered Vanessa Bryant. Now, however, it appears a new “Grinch” model is on the horizon, albeit with a huge twist.

“Reverse Grinch” Nike Kobe 6

According to @zsneakerheadz, this Nike Kobe 6 is going to be called “Reverse Grinch.” Instead of being covered in some yellow and green scales, this shoe will have an all-red upper. From there, we will get a black Nike swoosh and some neon green laces. Overall, these elements come together quite nicely, and we’re sure fans will adore them. Sure, they may not be the OG “Grinch” model, but they sure do pack a punch.

As per the Instagram post above, this sneaker is set to be released on December 16th. However, it should be noted that this is just a rumor for now. Janelle Monáe Reckons The Grinch Ought To Have An Illegitimate Child In A New Movie Reboot

When it comes to Halloween, Janelle Monáe is one of the best to ever put on a costume. Her high-effort looks wow every year, like when she came through with a Fifth Element-inspired get-up this past October. Monáe sat down for an interview on Late Night yesterday (December 14) and Seth Meyers went through some of her best costumes, including her pitch-perfect The Grinch from 2021. Here’s that in case you need a refresher:

Meyers brought that up and Monáe referred to it as “Johnny Grinch,” then revealing that she had an idea for a Grinch reboot movie. After Meyers’ prompting, she explained, “If you go on my page, you’ll see the Johnny Grinch is, like, this sort of hipster. Like, you know, vegan and green eggs and ham… or wait, not really a good vegan. Anyway, forget that, forget that, forget that, I’m off course. But the pitch is: What if the Grinch had an illegitimate child? Like, he didn’t know that he had Johnny and she somehow brings him back.”

The host, ever the writer, had some valid concerns about plot logistics, like when he noted, “I also want to hear this story about how he’s like, ‘I had no idea.’ I’m like, ‘Alright, Grinch. You lived alone in a cave and you’re like, ‘I don’t know how I’m a dad.’ You know.”

Lizzo Channels Sexy Grinch In Latest Twerking Video: Watch

We already knew that she’s 100% that bitch. Now, Lizzo is letting us know that she’s also “100% THAT GRINCH.” In her latest twerking thirst trap, the Special hitmaker donned an all-green look as she channelled the moody (but beloved) holiday character.

In her usual fashion, she made her costume slightly NSFW by stepping into a bondage-style jumpsuit. The look was complete with fur and chains running down the bodice. Additionally, she rocked a green smokey eye and a lengthy wig in the same colour.

At first, we see Lizzo running her manicured hands down her full figure as she shakes her hips in unison with Shelby Swain’s “MRS. GRINCH.”

“I’m a bad bitch, Mrs. Grinch / I’m a real one, I don’t f*ck with me,” the track’s lyrics go. “All wrapped in designer, from n*ggas I don’t got time for / Mrs. Grinch, Mrs. Grinch.”

After showing us what it looks like from the front, Lizzo let her followers see her bodacious behind from the back. As expected, she twerked away, leaving fans (such as SZA) to thirst over her in the comment section.

While one doesn’t necessarily need an excuse to dress up like their favourite holiday character, the “About Damn Time” songstress has a good one. That same night, she was performing at iHeart Radio’s annual Jingle Ball.

Other stars to take the stage in Madison Square Garden include Jack Harlow’s rumoured new girlfriend, Dua Lipa, as well as the Backstreet Boys and Demi Lovato.

Lizzo’s Christmas look is undeniably epic, but it’s got nothing on the costumes she put together for Halloween in October.

Firstly she made headlines by stepping out as Chrisean Rock. Later, she and Cardi B had the same idea in donning hilariously unforgettable Marge Simpson outfits.

The holidays look different for everybody. For some, a cozy pajama set gets them in the festive holiday spirits. Maybe a cheerful holiday playlist featuring classics like “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. Others require a few cups of spiked eggnog or hot cocoa. But for Emmy-Award-winning rapper/singer Lizzo, it’s a combination of a few things.

The Grammy-winning is giving into her unique festive holiday energy, and it’s about damn time. In a fun Instagram video captioned, “100% That Grinch,” Lizzo is taking cosplaying to a whole new level. Dressed in a green striped catsuit with a bondage-style corset overlay, ombré green hair, and long green pointed stiletto nails, the singer is setting into the role of Mrs. Grinch and is ready to get the holiday party started.

As Shelby Swain’s “Mrs. Grinch” plays in the back, she twerks along to the chorus to hype herself up before performing at Z100’s Jingle Ball concert.

We know Missy Elliott requested the singer turn her latest album, Special, into a musical, but now, we’d rather see Lizzo in a remake of the beloved Dr. Seuss story.

This weekend, Lizzo is set to appear on Saturday Night Live alongside actor Austin Butler. It makes you wonder, will Lizzo bring out her reimagined Mrs. Grinch for her featured performance?
