Janelle Monáe Flashed The Crowd One Last Time To Celebrate The End Of Their ‘The Age Of Pleasure Tour’

Janelle Monáe has given fans enough NSFW content to last until the end of the year. From their table-topping party clips to their videos for “Water Slide,” “Lipstick Lover,” and “Float,” they are truly living up to the title of their latest studio album. After a twerk-filled performance at the 2023 Essence Festival, Monáe took their talents on the road as part of The Age Of Pleasure Tour with special guests Jidenna, Flyana Boss, Dreamer Isioma, and Nana Kwabena.

To commemorate the end of the tour’s sold-out run, during Monáe’s final show on Wednesday, October 18, in Inglewood, California, they flashed the crowd one last time. In the clips captured by concertgoers, as Monáe sang their song “Yoga,” they whipped out their breasts as they sang, “Even when I’m sleeping, I got one eye open / You cannot police me, so get off my areola / Get off my areola.”

Monáe addressed the backlash they received over their lack of clothing during an interview with Rolling Stone in May, saying, “I’m much happier when my titties are out, and I can run around free.”

Janelle Monae Flashes Fans Again As “The Age of Pleasure” Tour Concludes

Janelle Monae began her Age of Pleasure Tour on a high note earlier this year, and earlier this week, the genre-bending creative closed it in the same fashion. On Wednesday (October 18), her final performance took place in Los Angeles at the YouTube Theatre in Inglewood. While crooning some of her biggest hits, Monae continued her trend of nonchalantly flashing the audience her breasts, this time showing off the left one in the middle of her set.

Most artists wouldn’t dare put themselves in such a vulnerable situation in front of a crowd of strangers (and their camera phones). The 37-year-old, however, isn’t ashamed of the skin she’s in, and even shared during her album rollout that she’s “much happier when [her] ti**ies are out.” As the crowd caught sight of Monae’s bare breast many of them cheered with excitement, hyping the entertainer up amid her final night on stage.

Janelle Monae Let Loose in Los Angeles

The Age of Pleasure Tour kicked off at the end of August in Seattle before Janelle headed to cities like Vancouver, Chicago, Boston, Toronto, New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix, and many more. Along the way, special guests Jidenna, Flyana Boss, Dreamer Isioma, and Nana Kwabena came out to help. Fans of the Kansas native are sad to see this leg of performances wrapped up but are eager to see what the next phase of Monae’s career will bring her.

Janelle Monae has long been praised for her artistry, but The Age of Pleasure found the “I Like That” songstress coming in her most confident form yet. Besides showing off the body that she works hard to maintain on more than one occasion, the vocalist also impressed us with her lyrics and singing throughout the project. Janelle Monae Shows Off Dance Moves At Magic City Strip Club

In the world of music, reinvention is an essential component of an artist’s journey. It’s a process that allows them to explore new horizons, push boundaries, and challenge societal norms. Janelle Monáe, the multi-talented singer, and producer, has been doing just that over the past couple of years. Her transformation has been marked by a shift in her appearance. And a more liberating approach to her music and life. Known for her signature tuxedos and artful blend of R&B, funk, and Afrofuturism, Janelle Monáe has always been celebrated for her unique style and sound. Especially as of lately.

However, the Age Of Pleasure singer recently took her evolution to another level when she was spotted at Magic City in Atlanta. Monáe’s appearance at the renowned strip club in the heart of the city caught some by surprise. Futhermore, what caught everyone’s attention was not just her presence, but her bold choice to pole dance to her own music. Moreover, the video of Monáe’s impromptu performance has since circulated social media. In the clip, Monáe can be seen gracefully moving to the rhythm of her own song.

Janelle Monae Is No Stranger To Doing What She Wants

Moreover, this unexpected appearance at Magic City is just one facet of Monáe’s ongoing transformation. Her decision to reveal more of her body and embrace a more liberated approach to her music has been met with mixed reactions. Some applaud her for breaking free from the constraints of conventionality. Others have questioned the departure from her previous image. One recent example of being questioned is artist India.Arie who raised concerns. Subsequently, she expressed concern specifically about Megan Thee Stallion’s dancing and Janelle Monae’s breast exposure during their performances at the 2023 Essence Festival of Culture. In a comment on Instagram, India.Arie expressed her disapproval.

She emphasized the importance of considering context and exercising discernment. “The issue is what is CONTEXT,” India.Arie wrote. “Humanity does EVERYTHING. But does EVERYTHING BELONG IN A STAGE. No, is everything for KIDS? No, is everything for EVERY BODY? so when we as a culture make something like this main stream ~ it shows a lack of discretion [and] discernment.” “I LOVE Janelle AND Meg the way i love us all — AND i dont like this moment.” However, she continued. “Don’t bother debating me lol idc and I DO this. for 25 yrs i’ve done THIS. so. read ponder or don’t.” However, whether you view her recent activities as controversial or groundbreaking, one thing is certain: Janelle Monáe is unapologetically rewriting the rules of her own narrative and inviting us all to join her on this journey of self-discovery and artistic reinvention.

Janelle Monáe, Latto, And Quavo Are On Their ‘Champagne Sh*t’ On The Song’s New ATL Remix

Janelle Monáe‘s world takeover continues. Tonight (October 6), the illustrious musician has shared a remix to a fan favorite from her fourth studio album, The Age Of Pleasure.

On a special ATL remix to “Champagne Sh*t,” Monáe joins forces with fellow Atlanta rap stars, Latto and Quavo. Throughout the course of the song, the three are in triumphant spirits, as they toast to their wins.

Monáe’s first verse and chorus remain the same as those on the original album version, with Quavo and Latto adding even more southern flair.

“We gon’ drink ’til we faint now it’s tasting like water / Proud of the times when we came from the bottom / Right now I’m hot, it’s time to go harder / How we keep winnin’, because I’m a starter,” raps Quavo on his triumphant verse.

Having been killing the rap game and maintaining a consistent flow of features and hits, Latto enjoys the fruits of her labor.

“College girl I’m tryna pay your tuition / Red bone kissing, casamigos pissin / Trying go home to the D like a piston,” she raps, reminding us that she’s got the game on lock.

You can listen to “Champagne Sh*t (ATL Remix)” above.

Who Are The Openers For Janelle Monáe’s ‘The Age Of Pleasure Tour?’

Janelle Monáe’s The Age Of Pleasure Tour kicks off later this month, and today, the non-binary icon revealed the tour’s openers. In addition to Monáe’s longtime collaborator Jidenna, the tour will also receive support from viral breakouts Flyana Boss, Chicago singer-songwriter Dreamer Isioma, and rapper/producer Nana Kwabena. Anticipation for the tour is high thanks to the hedonistic, NSFW rollout for The Age Of Pleasure, so each of these acts will certainly benefit from the extra exposure.

Monáe embraced a different kind of exposure as they prepared to release their well-received candidate album of the summer, showing off plenty of skin the videos for songs like “Lipstick Lover” and “Water Slide.” They attributed their newfound tendency to get their kit off to being “much happier when my titties are out,” which certainly ruffled feathers in certain corners of the internet. However, Janelle received support from fellow musicians like Cardi B, who posted an NSFW tweet of her own in response, SZA, who offered a message of approval, and Jason Isbell, who registered his confusion that there’d be any backlash in the first place. In any case, none of the criticism has slowed the singer, who lived up to her promise that you cannot police her by flashing the audience at Essence Fest.

Janelle Monae Cools Off With Sultry Style In “Water Slide” Music Video

Janelle Monáe’s “Water Slide” is one of the most infectious, gorgeous, and summery songs on her latest album, The Age Of Pleasure. Of course, that’s quite a feat, since those three descriptors basically run through the entire project without skipping a single beat. Still, it’s fitting that one of the LP’s catchiest and most easy-going cuts got the official music video treatment, which just released on Friday (July 7). Moreover, Monae and a big group of friends spend a refreshing and scantily-clad day at the pool, with some wearing nothing but pixels over themselves. With an unbearably hot summer upon us, this is exactly the kind of video that we needed.

Visually, it’s quite old-school, with a grainy look, an old-school aspect ratio, and occasional frame flashes and lens flares that make you feel like you’re watching a vintage film recording of a group of friends’ day in the sun. Also, some of the underwater shots, however brief, are beautifully crisp, and it’s probably the inspiration (or rather, the same shot) for the album cover itself. Janelle Monae plays guitar, waters a plant that becomes a dancing boxer-clad human, enjoys a smoke, and dances the day away in “Water Slide.”

Furthermore, this will probably remind fans of her previous music video for The Age Of Pleasure, “Lipstick Lover.” That track is another highlight off the album, and this one’s visuals match the energy of the instrumental so well. For example, the drums and guitar give the track a beach-infused reggae leaning that keeps your body swaying from side to side. As expected, Janelle Monae’s vocal harmonies and melodies are as sweet as they are powerful, and the chorus refrain will get stuck in your head.

Meanwhile, this video also features some special guests in Angelica Ross and Jillian Mercado. However, one that hip-hop fans might’ve missed but is impossible not to talk about is rising star JELEEL! He does a fantastic spin dive in the water before emerging with a rose between his teeth for Monae. All in all, “Water Slide” will have you diving into a body of water as fast as possible. Check out the video with the link below and check back in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Janelle Monae.

Janelle Monáe Keeps The Hedonistic, Barely-Clothed Party Going In The New ‘Water Slide’ Video

Janelle Monáe’s latest album is called The Age Of Pleasure, and indeed, Monáe has been enjoying a pleasurable age. That was most evident in May, when she shared the video for “Lipstick Lover,” a visual full of butts and bodies and kissing and dancing and all sorts of other means of people enjoying their time. Monáe dropped a new video for “Water Slide” today and it features more of the same.

The whole video has a very similar vibe to the “Lipstick Lover” clip, with a bunch of people wearing not much clothing as they enjoy moving, swimming, singing, dancing, and each other. Like “Lipstick Lover” before it, “Water Slide,” both the song and the video, are the perfect embodiment of summertime fun.

In an interview from back in May, a simple statement from Monáe succinctly encapsulated the entire vibe of The Age Of Pleasure: “I’m much happier when my titties are out and I can run around free.”

Janelle Monáe’s Skin-Bearing Teaser For The ‘Water Slide’ Video Picks Up Where The Viral ‘Lipstick Lover’ Left Off

Janelle Monáe’s “Lipstick Lover” was perhaps the biggest song of spring thanks in part to the borderline-NSFW video. In particular, the wet T-shirt teaser video used to promote the visual drew some eyeballs. Now, Monáe has another teaser out and it’s similarly skin-bearing.

Last night, Monáe revealed that she has a video for “Water Slide” coming out on July 7 (this Friday) and heralded the visual with a quick 15-second teaser. The setting of the clip appears to be similar to that of the “Lipstick Lover” video: At an outdoor pool party with a bunch of women wearing not that much clothing. In the teaser, Monáe and others dance, show off their bodies, and otherwise enjoy each other’s company.

This comes after Monáe had a sometimes-wild weekend at Essence festival. During her set, she went ahead and flashed one of her breasts on stage. Elsewhere, she joined Megan Thee Stallion on stage for a twerking “boot camp.” A month ago, she also had her own float at the LA Pride Parade and gave a moving speech to onlookers between songs.

Janelle Monáe Couldn’t Be Policed As She Flashed Her Breast To The Audience At Essence Festival

Janelle Monáe is baring it all. Her latest album, The Age Of Pleasure features her more in touch with her sexuality than ever before, and as she’s been promoting the album, she’s been seen flashing her fans, notably with the vinyl album itself, which contains a foldout picture of her breasts.

Last night (June 30), at Essence Festival in New Orleans, Monae gave a performance of all of her hits from over the years, including her 2015 Jidenna collaboration, “Yoga.”

The song contains the line “You cannot police me, so get off my areola,” which has become one of Monáe’s signature lyrics. During this particular portion of the song, Monáe lifted up the right side of her bikini top, flashing her breast to the audience. Her nipple was covered with a pink sticker, but nevertheless, stirred up fans throughout the festival.

This exuberant move was met with cheers and support from the audience, who were all on board with the sense of liberation she’s tapped into during this album era.
