In the interview, Offset didn’t reveal an album title but did reveal Cardi B, Future, Latto, Travis Scott, Chloe Bailey, and a posthumous TakeOff verse as features. During the interview, Offset played the track with Takeoff for the reporter.
The new album will be a step for Offset, who is ready to go hard at being a solo artist.
“This is me going full-fledged into my solo career,” Offset said. “The objective is to do it fully and smash shit and fuck the game up as a solo artist. I’m coming through, bustin’ through the door. It’s all set, my next chapter. It’s my time.”
Offset revealed a Takeoff verse in his trademark float in March, rapping alongside Icewear Vezzo. In the interview with Variety, Offset didn’t mention Vezzo as a feature, so the track could have changed, or it’s a completely different verse. Offset is seen in the clip enjoying the single with a nice lil bit of flexing in for good measure.
There are currently no details on when we will get the album, but you can read his full interview here.
Cardi B will ride for her man, and best believe Offset knows it. Speaking in a cover story with Variety, Offset gave updates about his forthcoming album and opened the door to his marriage.
Speaking on his wife, the “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker, Offset revealed Cardi B always stands in his support.
“She always got my back, right or wrong,” Offset said. “We both are on the same mission to make each other better. Social is her strong point, so I listen to her social advice. And me, it’s the music, but I play behind the scenes; it’s my wife so I want to make sure she win.”
Offset believes the duo makes for a “great team,” stating the two are a “powerhouse at this point — icon status. We believe in family. We’re always going to keep winning.”
Cardi B cosigned that notion, revealing the support is mutual. “It’s handled. I know that I have a man who has my back for real. I fully support him in this next chapter of his music career.”
To celebrate Mother’s Day, Offset hit Instagram with a tribute earlier this month, celebrating their union and parenting. The message was shared alongside a set of photos.
“Happy Mother’s Day my beautiful wife such a great mother you went against everything for our babies and still was able to balance it all out! I love you 4ever and 4L,” Offset wrote.
Takeoff, who was a member of Atlanta rap group Migos, was shot and killed last November during an altercation outside of a Houston bowling alley. Clark was arrested the following December by the Houston Police Department, who accused him of firing the fatal shots.
Today (May 25), Clark was reportedly indicted by a Texas grand jury. According to TMZ, Clark has since asked a judge for $5,000 so he can hire a private investigator and prepare a defense. He reportedly noted that he is unable to hire a PI on his own.
Following the indictment, Clark’s attorney Carl Moore shared a statement with TMZ.
“Today’s action by the grand jury is not unexpected,” said Moore. “We would ask people to remember that getting an indictment requires meeting a very, very minimal standard of proof. When we get inside a courtroom and in front of a jury, where we will be able to put on our evidence and cross-examine the state’s witnesses— where the standard of proof is guilt beyond a reasonable doubt— we expect the jury will come back with a verdict of not guilty.”
Patrick Xavier Clark, Takeoff’s alleged killer, has been formally charged with the murder of the Migos rapper.
According to KHOU, Clark was indicted by a Texas grand jury on murder charges, as confirmed by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
Takeoff was the victim of a shooting that sparked after a fight outside a bowling alley party in Houston. Clark was first arrested in December for the crime but was released in early January after posting a $1 million bond.
Clark recently asked for a private investigator to prepare for his defense, but asking the judge for $5,000, saying he can’t cover the costs alone.
Clark was capture on video pulling a gun and shooting muitple rounds while also holding a wine bottle. Clark was then seen running to the House of Blues. He doubled back to the bowling alley before leaving the area.
When he was originally arrested, Patrick Clark had a gun with him but it was different from the one used in Takeoff’s shooting.
Reports indicate that a grand jury formally indicted suspect Patrick Xavier Clark for the murder of Takeoff in Houston. Moreover, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that authorities officially charged Clark on Thursday morning (May 25). The Migos rapper, real name Kirsnick Khari Ball, died on November 1 in a shooting outside of a private bowling alley party that left two other individuals injured. Previously, much speculation surged in the media concerning Clark’s whereabouts, status under officials who arrested him, and other factors in the case. Now, it seems like a formal trial will follow suit and finally give the MC’s loved ones at least some sort of closure and peace.
Furthermore, police confirmed their arrest of Clark back in December of 2022. Since then, not much came out concerning his status, especially after authorities released him on a $1 million bond. Before that, officials set bond at $2 million, and his release became odder when news broke that neither his family nor Clark himself put up the money for his freedom. “A concerned citizen and family friend who believes in Patrick’s innocence posted the bond on his behalf,” his attorney Letitia D. Quinones told KTVU News. “Like any other defendant, Patrick is presumed to be innocent and has the right to bond. He also has an obligation to comply with all the terms the court has laid out.”
Meanwhile, reports also emerged that Clark sought to claim self-defense in the case. “We feel comfortable that when the time is right that Mr. Clark will have a valid and meritorious claim for self-defense,” one of his lawyers reportedly stated according to the Associated Press. In addition, Clark vowed to move in with his parents in court, amid efforts to reduce his bail and fight back against beliefs that he was a flight risk. After all, he reportedly tried to flee to Mexico and get an emergency passport before his arrest for Takeoff’s murder.
While this is promising news for justice, the Migo’s legacy lives on in much more important ways through his loved ones, fans, collaborators, and family alike. Offset’s new album will feature his last Takeoff collaboration, whereas Quave dedicated his next project Rocket Power to him as well. The rap world waits for Clark’s fate, but they will never hesitate to keep Take’s legacy alive. For more updates and the latest news on this case, stay up to date on HNHH.
Offset graced the cover of Varietythis week, and he understandably found it difficult to talk about Takeoff, his former Migos group mate who was murdered last November at 28 years old.
Offset opened up about the tragedy with the publication, but elsewhere, writers Janee Bolden and Jem Aswad slid in a notable detail: “He was classmates with Quavo — the third member of Migos — and began hanging out with him and Takeoff when Offset was in the sixth grade. While Quavo was Takeoff’s uncle, the two were just three years apart in age, and although Offset is often referred to as Quavo’s cousin, they are actually not biologically related.”
While Offset declined to discuss Migos because of “an ongoing legal standoff” with Quality Control, the 31-year-old rapper said he’s preparing to go “full-fledged into my solo career.” Still, he took a moment to reflect on the past.
“It’s hard for me to talk about sh*t right now,” Offset said, referencing the loss of Takeoff. “I’ve never talked about this stuff. Seriously. Talking about Take is hard, man. Talking about all this sh*t is hard. That’s why I don’t, to be honest. That sh*t hurts. Like, it’s gonna put me in a mood, and I don’t want to get in that mood. Some things I don’t never tell nobody. He’s not here. That sh*t feels fake, bro. I get through my day thinking it’s fake. And I don’t say nothing to nobody about it.”
According to the publication, Offset needed to temporarily walk away from the interview after expressing those feelings.
Quavo has made it abundantly clear that Migos will not be reuniting musically. However, that isn’t stopping the rapper from moving forward with solo music. The “Honey Bun” rapper’s forthcoming sophomore album, Rocket Power, has a special guardian angel. Fueled by the strength his late nephew, Takeoff instilled in him, Quavo is ready to jump back into music full-time.
Speaking on the upcoming release, the musician took to Instagram to write, “This album is for the Rocket, our true fans, and also this is my therapy. This album is a true reflection of how I feel right now.”
He added, “Sometimes I’m good, sometimes I’m down, sometimes I’m disappointed, sometimes I fall apart, but then I always find my strength again. I know everything might not be alright right now, but the Rocket showed me a way to make it right! Rocket Power keeps me going. Rocket Power gives me fuel. ‘Rocket Power’ will help us all overcome whatever we’re going through.”
This isn’t the first the entertainer took to the booth to record new music in Takeoff’s name. At the top of the year, Quavo dropped “Without You,” which he went on to perform the track at the 2023 Grammys.
Quavo recently shared a heartfelt update with fans regarding his upcoming album, Rocket Power, dedicated to late Migos rapper Takeoff. Set to unveil a vulnerable side of himself; the “Lamb Talk” rapper said the album reflects his current emotional state. Quavo’s Personal Insight On “Rocket Power” On May 23, Quavo took to Twitter to provide […]
