Kendrick Lamar Casually Drops A Potential AOTY Contender With “GNX”

Kendrick Lamar… are you kidding!? The widely celebrated Compton, California visionary has just come by literally minutes ago with GNX. It’s probably the most casual release from an artist of this caliber maybe ever, but without a doubt in recent memory. About an hour ago, Lamar dropped off a one-minute teaser of a multi-phased track named after the project. That was a major shock in and of itself, but him delivering the LP just moments after is flat out insanity. Obviously, though, we mean that in the best way possible. There will be so much to unpack going forward, as there is with any Kendrick album. However, in this case, that will be true even more so. Since the beef with Drake, there were some rumblings from outsiders that K. Dot was going to release a new project.

However, no one really knew if this was going to happen. He’s already got the Super Bowl Halftime Show on his schedule. But it’s clear that Lamar wanted to capitalize on his evisceration of his Canadian foe, as well as all of the major records that came from it. “Not Like Us” and “Like That” accumulated numerous nominations at the GRAMMYs as well. There was already a serious belief that Kendrick has been the MVP of rap in 2024. But with the release of GNX there really isn’t much of a debate anymore; Kendrick Lamar is on top and will continue to be for as long as he’s around. Check out the album with the links below.

J Cole Feels He Can Run The Game Until “3001”

J Cole is becoming the butt of a lot of jokes online right now after having serious regrets about dissing Kendrick Lamar on “7 Minute Drill.” Fans are becoming comedians saying he is having “post-n*t clarity.” Others are declaring the K-Dot is up 2-0 and bringing back certain bars from “The Heart Part 4.” “Oh, I was just playin’, K-Dot / C’mon, you know a n**** rock witchu, bro” / Shut the f*** up, you sound like the last n**** I know.” However, a majority of people are still enjoying what J Cole brought to the table, especially “3001.”

In our eyes and the community’s, this track features one of the best beats and hungriest flow from Cole. There are plenty of quotables across its two-and-a-half-minute runtime. “I started chiefin’ less and less, it had my cerebral vexed / Too many blessings to be depressed / Went from too stressed to being blessed /
Now, my new recipe’s just keep that f*** s*** from my desk / I don’t want s*** but my breath, I don’t want s*** but my fam’
.” All of these rhymes and relatable messages are performed over a sinister beat from Mike WiLL Made-It, T-Minus, and Pluss.

This is not anything new topically, but the way he raps on this one gives off the vibe that the rent is due. Pharrell Williams Stuns Everyone With New Album “Black Yacht Rock Vol. 1”

What a day for hip-hop. We now have not one, but two surprise albums from some of the best in the business. Legendary producer, singer, and rapper Pharrell Williams has just come through with Black Yacht Rock Vol. 1. That is the hyphenated title for this project, or at least one of the three names you can call it. It is also being referred to as Virginia, Black Yacht Rock, or City of Limitless Access.

This is the Virginia native’s first solo album since 2014’s G I R L and it may be coming before a separate project. He has been dropping some singles such as “Cash In Cash Out,” “Down In Atlanta,” and “Airplane Tickets.” Time will tell when all of those tracks culminate into a full listening experience. For now, let us discuss Black Yacht Rock Vol. 1.

The 10-track LP is only available on a website that is named after the project. You can check it out here and it is available for free to download at your convenience. There was zero promotion from Pharrell on social media, so this is definitely something for the true fans to discover.

Brent Faiyaz Announces Feature-Packed New Album Dropping Tonight

Last year, Brent Faiyaz released his critically acclaimed album WASTELAND. The major undertaking saw him recruiting artists like Drake, Tyler, The Creator, Alicia Keys, The Neptunes, and more. The album spawned two of his biggest hits to date “ALL MINE” and “JACKIE BROWN.” While Faiyaz has been dropping some new singles this year, most fans didn’t expect to have another new album any time soon. But earlier today Faiyaz confirmed that it’ll be here a LOT sooner than many thought.

Brent Faiyaz announced his new album LARGER THAN LIFE which drops in just a few hours. The album will feature 14 tracks, a slimming down from its 19-track predecessor. Once again he’s bringing some major features along with him. A$AP Rocky, Missy Elliott, Coco Jones, Babyface Ray, and N3WYRKLA are just some of the artists who will appear on the project. The album is also expected to include two singles that Faiyaz released earlier this year. Check out some more details on the forthcoming project below.

Brent Faiyaz Surprise Dropping Album

The first of the two singles set to appear on the album is “Moment Of Your Life” which dropped back in August. The song sees Brent teaming up with R&B singer Coco Jones whose breakthrough hit “ICU” began climbing the charts earlier this year. A month later Faiyaz dropped the second single “WY@.” The track clicked with fans immediately and has already racked up over 12 million streams on Spotify in just over a month.

One person who isn’t on the mixtape that fans might have been inspecting is Sexyy Red. Red and Faiyaz hit the studio together in between the release of the two singles. But if they worked on any music in that process it either isn’t ready for release yet or is due to end up on a later project. What do you think about Brent Faiyaz announcing a new mixtape just a day before it’s dropping? Let us know in the comment section below.

As if dropping one album isn’t a big enough feat for an artist, Skrillex proved that he’s coming back with a vengeance by sharing two full-length projects this weekend. On Friday (February 17), the DJ shared Quest For Fire, a 15-track effort boasting features from Missy Elliott, Porter Robinson, Dylan Brady, and more.
