The Rundown After Another Contentious Day of Testimony at Trump’s Trial

The Rundown After Another Contentious Day of Testimony at Trump’s Trial

After another contentious day of former President Donald Trump’s criminal trial, his defense attorneys didn’t let up their barrage of attacks against Stormy Daniels’s credibility on Thursday. Trump’s defense attorney, Susan Necheles, flat-out accused the adult film performer of completely making up the story of her sexual encounter with Trump to make money. Here’s the rundown on the rest of the courtroom drama after Day 14 of the Trump hush money trial:

Stormy Daniels faced another day of cross-examination, adamantly asserting the truth of her account despite defense attorney Susan Necheles’ attempts to undermine her credibility. Daniels remained steadfast in her assertion that her sexual encounter with Trump was genuine, even when confronted with inconsistencies in her narrative.

Trump’s defense team and prosecutors clashed over Stormy Daniels’ financial situation, with Necheles insinuating that Daniels fabricated her story for monetary gain. Conflicting accounts were presented regarding Daniels’ earnings from recounting her alleged affair with Trump, including references to tweets and online store promotions.

Former Trump aide Madeleine Westerhout provided insights into the inner workings of the White House, detailing her experiences working in Trump’s West Wing for over two years. Testimony included discussions about a list of Trump’s contacts, ranging from media personalities to sports figures, received from his longtime assistant Rhona Graff.

Trump’s legal team sought modifications to the gag order against him and requested a mistrial following Daniels’ testimony. The judge denied both motions, rejecting arguments that Trump should be allowed to respond to Daniels’ allegations publicly. The defense contended that Daniels’ testimony unfairly prejudiced the jury against Trump.

Judge Merchan rebuffed Trump’s renewed motion for a mistrial, citing the defense’s actions in challenging Daniels’ credibility as a factor in allowing the salacious testimony. Despite arguments from Trump’s attorney, Todd Blanche, that Daniels’ trial testimony presented a new version of events, Merchan disagreed and denied the mistrial motion.

Key Takeaways in Day 13 of Trump Criminal Trial With More Stormy Daniels Testimony

Here’s What We Know About the Jurors Seated in Trump Historic Criminal Trial

During Donald Trump’s criminal trial, jurors were presented with vivid details of an alleged sexual encounter he tried to conceal before the 2016 presidential election. Stormy Daniels, the adult film star involved, testified, marking the first time she and Trump had faced each other in over a decade. Trump faces charges of falsifying business records to cover up hush money paid to Daniels by his former attorney, Michael Cohen, aimed at boosting his 2016 electoral chances. Despite objections from Trump’s legal team, Daniels’ testimony included explicit descriptions prompting objections and a failed mistrial attempt. Though Trump’s attorney attempted to challenge Daniels’ animosity, core aspects of the case remained largely unchallenged.

Here’s a breakdown of the four big takeaways from today’s courtroom action:

1. Stormy Daniels recounted in vivid detail her alleged encounter with Donald Trump nearly two decades ago, offering jurors a comprehensive and, at times, explicit narrative of her purported night with the former president.

2. Throughout Stormy Daniels’ testimony, Donald Trump frequently signaled to his attorney, Susan Necheles, urging her to object. When Daniels approached the moment of alleged intimacy, Trump motioned for Necheles to intervene, leading to a bench conference with Judge Juan Merchan, who sustained the objection. It marked one of Trump’s most active engagements in the proceedings.

3. Despite a motion for mistrial by Trump attorney Todd Blanche following Daniels’ direct examination, Judge Merchan denied it, citing the lack of objections during Daniels’ testimony. The defense argued that Daniels’ testimony was prejudicial, but the judge sided with the prosecution, emphasizing the importance of restoring her credibility.

4. During a contentious cross-examination by Trump’s attorney, Susan Necheles, Stormy Daniels faced intense questioning about her credibility and her feelings towards Trump. Necheles accused Daniels of fabricating her testimony, leading to a heated exchange where Daniels admitted her animosity towards Trump. Judge Merchan intervened multiple times as the questioning verged on a dispute, with Daniels even raising her voice in response to a tweet shown by Necheles.

Jurors Try to Keep Straight Faces during Stormy Daniels Colorful Testimony; Judge Warns Prosecutors Some Graphic Details Are Unnecessary

Jurors Try to Keep Straight Faces during Stormy Daniels Colorful Testimony

During Tuesday’s Trump’s hush money trial, jurors found it a bit challenging to keep their composure as adult film star Stormy Daniels delivered a vivid and titillating account during her testimony on the witness stand.

Get this: Daniels, born Stephanie Clifford, recounted an incident where she playfully spanked the former president with a magazine. This alleged spanking session prompted smirks from some jurors … Okay done giggling. Anyway, their demeanor remained stoic when Daniels delved into the details of her sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, describing it as occurring in “the missionary position” on a hotel bed. The 45-year-old Daniels spoke rapidly and expressed concern about Trump not using a condom during their brief encounter. Ick.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan sustained objections from Trump’s legal team, deeming Daniels’ testimony as overly graphic. Daniel wore a black kimono-style garment over a tight shirt. She energetically recounted her thing with Trump, recalling how she was over his arrogance and suggested someone should “spank” him with a magazine that had his face on the cover.

Sitting hunched, Trump signaled to his defense attorney, Susan Necheles, who raised multiple objections that the judge upheld. Occasionally glancing at Trump, Daniels reminisced about meeting the real estate mogul at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe when she was 27 years old. Their flirtatious banter eventually led to their liaison, she testified.

Daniels revealed that her decision to meet Trump was influenced by her publicist, who encouraged her to forgo a work event in favor of the encounter, promising it would be a remarkable story. Before their rendezvous, Daniels encountered Trump’s security guard, Keith Schiller, further solidifying the meeting’s arrangements. Upon arriving at Trump’s opulent hotel suite, Daniels was taken aback to find him dressed in Hugh Hefner-style pajamas, which she insisted he change out of. She admitted to feeling ashamed and chose not to disclose the affair to her then-boyfriend and former publicist.

The trial centers on allegations that Trump directed his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, to pay Daniels $130,000 before the 2016 election to prevent her from publicizing their affair. Trump is further accused of concealing the payment by categorizing it as a legal expense. Denying the charges, Trump has dismissed the case as a politically motivated vendetta.

Kanye West & His New Yeezy P*rn Venture Get Huge Endorsement From Stormy Daniels’ Ex

Kanye West shocked his fans this past week when he announced that he would be coming out with a new venture called Yeezy Porn. Overall, this was a bit of a surprise given the fact that Ye has been adamant about his issues with porn addiction. Moreover, he has tried to maintain some Christian beliefs, and this venture would completely go against that. In the end, fans are split on his new announcement, with many proclaiming more anger than they did when he was spewing White Nationalist talking points.

As it pertains to Yeezy Porn, it appears as though the venture is getting a huge endorsement from an industry veteran. That person just so happens to be Mike Moz, who used to be with Stormy Daniels. While speaking to TMZ, Moz expressed his admiration for Ye. Additionally, he noted that this venture is going to be revolutionary and that it isn’t just going to be some sort of run of the mill porn operation.

Donald Trump Trial: Man Sets Himself On Fire Outside Courthouse

Today, chaos unfolded outside of the Manhattan courthouse where Donald Trump’s trial is taking place. The former president has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records in relation to the alleged $130K payment he’s accused of making to adult actress Stormy Daniels. Allegedly, the payment was made in exchange for Daniels’ silence on an alleged affair, which Trump denies.

Around the time that the jury was empaneled, and just before a lunch break, a man set himself on fire outside of the courthouse. The man was reportedly located in a designated protest area when the act took place, and several witnesses looked on in horror. At the time of writing, it remains unclear whether or not this was directly related to Trump or the trial. Law enforcement sources tell NBC News that the man appeared to be an alleged follower of unspecified conspiracy theories and that he may have also been struggling with “emotional issues.”

A 73-year-old witness named Dave from the Upper West Side saw the shocking incident unfold, and says he watched the man throw various pamphlets before picking them back up again. “I heard this clattering,” he recalled. “That caught our attention. Then he pulled out a can.” From there, the man reportedly poured something on himself and took out a lighter. “There I thought, this could be awful,” Dave also explained. “I’m old enough to remember the Vietnam War.” According to Dave, the man then lit himself on fire and was quickly engulfed in flames.

Another witness, freelance photojournalist Ed Quinn, says he heard someone shout that the man was getting ready to start the fire. “I see him dumping gasoline on his face, very deliberately,” he described. “He had [a] gray t-shirt on. It soaked his face. It soaked his shirt. Boom, he went up.” According to NBC, the man was sent off in an ambulance in critical condition. What do you think of the latest development in Trump’s trial? Donald Trump Arriving In Court

NEW YORK, NY – April 4: Former President Donald Trump arrives for his court appearance in New York, NY on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Trump became the first sitting or former U.S. president to be indicted and turned himself to be arraigned in a case that involves payoffs through an intermediary to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels to conceal an alleged affair ahead of the 2016 election. Trump appeared in court in New York City on Tuesday, before flying back to Mar-a-Lago that same night. There, he delivered a speech condemning the case against him as well as the Manhattan district attorney. “They can’t beat us at the ballot box, so they try to beat us through the law,” Trump said. From there, he added: “The only crime that I’ve committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it. The criminal is the district attorney because he illegally leaked massive amounts of grand jury information, for which he should be prosecuted — or at a minimum, he should resign.”

The case against Trump hinges on payments to Daniels that allegedly violate federal campaign finance laws. In total, Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Trump’s former fixer, Michael Cohen, has admitted to paying $130,000 in 2016 to silence Daniels’ story about an alleged affair with the former president.

Tupac’s Sister Called A Comparison To Donald Trump ‘Blasphemous’ Following His Attorney’s Comments

Donald Trump’s attorney Alina Habba apparently wanted her client to change his inner thug life (a motto of the late raper Tupac Shakur), but it didn’t quite work out in his favor.

Strangely, during Habba’s appearance on The Benny Show podcast, she likened the former president to hip-hop titans Tupac and Biggie Smalls, seemingly because of his recent indictment and subsequent arrest. “Donald Trump is Tupac. Donald Trump’s Biggie Smalls, he’s better than Tupac. I’m east coast, so I love Biggie,” Habba said.

Although both rap pioneers did know and have been photographed with Trump, Tupac’s sister Set Shakur isn’t here for the comparisons. In a statement shared with TMZ, Shakur flat out called Habba’s remarks “blasphemous.”

“My brother was measured by his integrity, his principles, and personal and collective responsibility,” said Shakur.

While the late rapper was found guilty of sexual assault in 1995, Shakur emphasized the difference between Trump and her brother is that “[Tupac] took accountability during his 1994 sexual abuse trial,” whereas, within Trump’s recent indictment, it is reported that in 2016 Trump tried to pay his accuser off with hush money.

Shakur later added that her brother’s time in prison wasn’t what made him popular. Instead, it was the fact that people “were able to measure him by his words and actions that aligned.”

Back in 1992, Tupac called out Trump for his greedy ways during an interview with MTV, saying, “If you want to be successful, if you want to be like Trump, gimme gimme gimme, push push push push. Step, step, step, crush, crush, crush. That’s how it all is, and it’s like… nobody ever stops.”

Even from the grave, the rapper was able to hit ’em up.

Trump Drops ‘Not Guilty’ T-Shirt on Campaign Website During Arraignment

Trump Raises Over $7 Million for His Campaign Since Being Indicted

A new t-shirt dropped on former President Donald Trump’s website while he sat in a Manhattan courthouse pleading not guilty to 34 felony counts for falsification of business records in connection with $150,000 hush money payment to former adult film star Stormy Daniels.

An email sent out by the Trump campaign had President Trump in a fake mugshot placed on a t-shirt. The copy reads”

“‘NOT GUILTY,’ Do you stand with President Trump, Friend? Please make a contribution of $47 or more to WIN in 2024 – and we’ll send you your very own ‘NOT GUILTY’ T-Shirt for FREE.”

The idea that an indictment may make Donald Trump more popular could be accurate. With arraignment set for today (Apr. 4), the Trump campaign is boasting a record number of donations.

According to the New York Daily News, Trump’s campaign has secured $7 million since the indictment.

Tupac’s Sister Blasts Donald Trump’s Comparisons as ‘Blasphemous’

force trump cooperate ny ag leticia james

Tupac’s sister, Set Shakur, is not having any comparisons between her late brother and former president Donald Trump. As Trump is set to be arraigned, he has often been compared to Tupac, the most recent being by Trump’s attorney Alina Habba, who also threw Biggie’s name in the mix as well.

Appearing on TMZ, Shakur stated the comparison was “blasphemous.”

“My brother was measured by his integrity, his principles and personal and collective responsibility,” Shakur said.

Speaking with Benny Johnson on The Benny Show, Trump’s attorney Alina Habba agreed with the show’s host that the forthcoming charges would raise the notoriety of the former President.

Habba would respond to Johnson stating, “Donald Trump is Tupac. Donald Trump is Biggie Smalls.” Habba would state she’s from the east coast, showing Biggie bias and stating Trump would be bigger than Tupac.

“Donald Trump is his own brand, he is everything,” Habba said. “This is just going to boost him we have seen it in the polls. This is not a question, this is a fact.”

Habba isn’t the first person to make the comparison. Chris Rock was on hand as Adam Sandler received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in D.C. Never one to miss a moment for political discourse, Rock threw a Trump joke while honoring his friend Sandler.

“Are you guys really gonna arrest Trump?” Rock stated. “Do you know this is only going to make him more popular? It’s like arresting Tupac. He’s just gonna sell more records. Are you stupid?”

You can hear Habba’s statements here.
