Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, Buffalo Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard, and Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell were named the AFC Players of the Week for Week 11, recognizing their exceptional performances.

Offense: Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
Nix showcased his rookie prowess in the Broncos’ commanding 38-6 victory over Atlanta, completing 28 of 33 passes (84.8%) for 307 yards and four touchdowns, earning a 145.0 passer rating. He became just the second rookie in NFL history to achieve 300+ passing yards, four touchdowns, and a rating above 140 in a single game. This is Nix’s first Player of the Week honor, making him the first Broncos rookie quarterback to receive the accolade.

Defense: Terrel Bernard, Buffalo Bills
Bernard’s defensive dominance sealed the Bills’ 30-21 win over the Chiefs, highlighted by eight tackles, a sack, and a game-sealing interception. Bernard was the only NFL player in Week 11 with both a sack and an interception. This marks his second career Player of the Week award, cementing his place among Buffalo’s top linebackers. Bernard also joins Xavien Howard as the only Baylor players with multiple Defensive Player of the Week honors since 2000.

Special Teams: Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers
Boswell’s six field goals, including three over 50 yards, accounted for all of Pittsburgh’s points in their 18-16 victory over Baltimore. He became the first player in NFL history to make six field goals in three career games and joined an elite group of kickers with multiple such performances in a single season. This is Boswell’s fourth Player of the Week honor, tying Jeff Reed for the most by a Steelers kicker.

Russell Wilson Speaking With At Least Two NFL Teams Ahead Of Broncos Release

Russell Wilson has met with the Giants and Steelers this week ahead of his official release from the Broncos next week. Wilson met with the Giants on Thursday and the Steelers on Friday, but more meetings are expected in the coming days. The Raiders are another team whose name has been floated as a potential meeting. The Steelers only have Kenny Pickett under contract. This comes after Mitch Trubisky was cut and Mason Rudolph opted to explore free agency. Meanwhile, the Giants only have Daniel Jones on the roster. Tyrod Taylor is set to be a free agent and Jones is still rehabbing from an ACL tear.

The speculation around Wilson’s future was put to rest earlier this week. On Monday, the Broncos informed the quarterback they would be releasing him. This ends an underwhelming two seasons in which the team won 13 games and gave up premium draft picks to acquire Wilson. However, Wilson has long maintained that he expected to be cut ever since he was benched towards the end of last season. The Broncos currently have Jarrett Stidham on the roster. They could draft a quarterback at No. 12 next month.

Russell Wilson Trade Branded “Worst Of All Time” By Former GM

As a result of the chaos in Denver, much scrutiny has been given to the trade that brought Wilson to Denver. “When you add the contract and the trade, it’s the worst of all time,” former Browns GM Micheal Lombardi told TMZ. The Broncos gave up multiple first-round picks, multiple second-round picks, and three players to acquire Wilson. The Broncos then gave Wilson a $245M contract.

But Wilson was not the player that the Broncos thought they were trading for. Wilson struggled massively in 2022, but did improve in 2023. However, he did not turned the Broncos into a playoff contender. While there are front-office financial issues, the Broncos have claimed benching Wilson was purely a football decision. “I understand all the speculation and everything that surrounds a move like that. I can tell you — look, we’re desperately trying to win. Sure, in our game today there are economics and all those other things. But the No. 1 push behind this — and it’s a decision I’m making — is to get a spark offensively,” head coach Sean Payton said.

Bills-Steelers Postponed To Monday, Chiefs-Dolphins To Go Ahead Despite Wind Chill

The first playoff game of 2024, Steelers at Bills, will be postponed until Monday due to heavy snow expected in Buffalo on Saturday. The game, originally scheduled for January 13 at 1pm will now be played on January 15 at 4:30pm. “Now, you may see clear skies [Sunday] morning, but don’t be fooled. The bull’s-eye of the storm is predicted to hit midday Sunday afternoon right during the scheduled Buffalo Bills game. [The game will] continue to be played at Highmark Field right in Orchard Park. It’s all part of our critical efforts to keep New Yorkers, motorists and fans safe from this wildly unpredictable storm,” New York Kathy Hochul said in a public address.

However, Chiefs-Dolphins will go ahead despite reports that the wind chill could reach as low as -30 degrees in Kansas City. “There are no public safety travel concerns for getting to the stadium for fans, the clubs, stadium personnel or public authorities,” an NFL source told ESPN. The NFL has been in touch with both teams’ medical staffs and will be prepped to combat the cold weather.

Chiefs & Dolphins Shrug Off Cold

However, both the Chiefs and Dolphins are not worrying about the cold. “No one likes being cold. That’s why we have temperature control. However, it does make the moment bigger when you know that it is an absolute fact that it’s going to be frigid. Well, what if as a team, you find a way for it to not affect you? To be able to go and do athletic performance in that weather, it takes will. That will comes from a passion that is deep down that has been derived while a lot of these guys started playing the game that you’re unlocking,” Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniels said. The Chiefs are favored by 4.5 points, according to ESPN Bet.

There is one other playoff game scheduled for January 13. However, it will not be affected by the weather thanks to its Texan venue. Houston hosts Cleveland in a curious matchup of two teams who have roared back to relevancy. The Browns are two-point favorites, the first time that the team has been favorites in a playoff game since 1994.

GloRilla Has Adorable Reaction To Meeting Mike Tomlin: Watch

GloRilla recently got the chance to meet someone she’s been a fan of for years – Mike Tomlin. In a recently shared video, the rapper linked up with the longtime Steelers head coach, practically running down a corridor to give him a big hug. As they try to swap introductions, Glo cuts Tomlin off to eagerly say “Yes, I know who you are”. Just as quickly, Tomlin replied, “And I know who you are!” The video is just all kinds of heart-warming.

Despite being born and raised in Memphis, Glo apparently has big love for the coach who has led the Steelers since 2007. Tomlin is originally from Virginia but has an extensive coaching history. His coaching journey took him through VMI, Memphis, Arkansas State, and Cincinnati at the college level before he jumped to the NFL in 2001. After positional stints with Tampa Bay and Minnesota, Tomlin landed his first head coaching gig with the Steelers. Tomlin has won two Super Bowls – with the Buccs in 2003 and with the Steelers in 2009.

Blueface Continues Rams Beef After Steelers Loss And Strip Club Debacle

Tomlin most recently coached the Steelers to a 24-17 win over the Rams. However, that has been overshadowed by a beef between rapper Blueface and the wife of the Rams’ starting QB. Kelly Stafford voiced her displeasure over Blue turning a suite at SoFi Stadium into an impromptu strip club during last weekend’s game. In particular, Stafford was upset that her children were exposed to the footage. Furthermore, she argued that Blue’s antics violated the family-friendly nature of an NFL game.

Blue recently shot back on social media, calling Stafford a “Karen” and telling her that LA is his territory. “Somebody tell Mathew stafford wife I been in LA longer then her an Matt. I run this program yall just here to work an make a living when y’all retire an go back to yo nice life I’ll still be here in LA at the rams games I don’t care how you feel about it,” the rapper said as part of a series of tweets attacking Stafford.

Antonio Brown Gets Backlash From Mac Miller Fans For “Insensitive” Photo

Antonio Brown is clearly a little jealous about all the attention Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are receiving. The former wide receiver recently tweeted out a picture of Ariana Grande in his Steelers jersey alongside Mac Miller’s mother presumably getting ready for a Steelers game. “I had baddies at the game before the announcements…….. Arianators,” Brown captioned the photo. However, the picture has not gone down well with fans of the late rapper.

For many of Miller’s fans, the inclusion of his mother takes the post beyond the pale. “Nah you foul for this fam,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Don’t disrespect Mac”. Brown even faced backlash from prominent fandom sources. “Ay bro take this down that’s Mac’s momma bro.” While Brown did not mention Mac in the post, fans appear to have taken issue with Brown referring to Karen Meyers as one of his “baddies”. Despite the backlash, Brown has not deleted the post a the time of writing.

Woman Alleges AB Is Her Baby Daddy

Overall, it’s been a pretty bad week for Brown. A woman on TikTok has alleged that she is currently pregnant with Brown’s child. While largely unverified, the woman also showed purported DMs between her and Brown. The woman can be seen calling AB “daddy” while Brown can be seen at least expressing interest in hooking up with her. The woman is reportedly from Miami, at least based on a general interpretation of her messages. Brown primarily resides in the state.

Brown has not directly responded to the allegations. However, some of his recent posts could be taken as subtweets. Brown has posted several memes to X in recent days. One reads “I may not be a gynecologist but I know a cunt when I see one.” However, as mentioned, there is very little in the way of explicit proof that Brown is the cause of the woman’s pregnancy. Despite this, it does remain a developing story.

Minkah Fitzpatrick Defends Nick Chubb Hit

Minkah Fitzpatrick has vehemently defended his hit on Nick Chubb during Monday Night Football The Steelers safety made his first public comments since the game on Thursday. “I’m a guy that is a competitor, that’s going to go out there and play the game. I’m chippy, I’m edgy, of course, but I’m not a dirty player. But I’m not going to sit here and defend my character. I know the type of player I am. Chubb knows the type of player I am. I played against him for the past five years, two times a year. And I love competing against him. He brings the best out of me, and I bring the best out of him. No chance that I would ever try and purposely injure somebody, always. It was an unfortunate event.”

Fitzpatrick hit Chubb during a goalline tackle that went horribly wrong as Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury. The star running back will miss the rest of the season and will require surgery. “I didn’t see anybody on [the hole]. And I made the decision as soon as I seen the hole open up — and him in the hole — to go low. … It’s a fast game. … You make decisions within milliseconds. You can’t really control what happens after you choose to make your decision. I already chose to go low. Somebody got on his back as I was going low, and what happened, happened; there’s nothing I really would do differently. It’s very unfortunate. Chubb’s a great player. He makes the game a lot better when he’s playing,” Fitzpatrick continued.

Kareem Hunt Rejoins Browns After Chubb Injury

To replace Chubb, the Browns turned to a familiar face – Kareem Hunt. Hunt previously played for the Browns between 2019 and 2022. However, he left the team at the end of the 2022 season. Last month, ESPN and other outlets reported that Hunt had met with a number of teams, including the Saints, but would begin the season teamless.

Originally drafted in 2017 by the Chiefs, Hunt was released after a video of him assaulting a woman emerged online. The Browns signed Hunt ahead of the 2019 season. Over four seasons, Hunt has recorded 1874 yards and 16 touchdowns across 49 games. Per Ourlads, Hunt is listed as the RB2 behind 2022 draft pick Jerome Ford. Ford has 142 yards through the first two games of the season, including 106 against the Steelers. Furthermore, the Browns host the Titans on Sunday night.

Antonio Brown Seemingly Wants To Return To The Steelers

Antonio Brown is once again angling for an NFL return. Brown, once considered one of the best players in the league, has not suited up since being cut from the Buccaneers in 2021. However, in a recent post on X, Brown dropped a photo of himself during his time with the Steelers with the caption “Hear me out…”. In nine seasons with the Steelers, Brown had 11,207 receiving yards and 74 touchdowns. Furthermore, he made four first-team All-Pro appearances between 2014 and 2017. However, things ended badly between him and the team, leading to the infamous 2019 Raiders saga.

However, it’s unlikely that the Steelers, or any NFL franchise, is interested in Brown. Despite his talent, he hasn’t played in two years and is widely seen as an unneeded locker-room distraction. Who wants a guy you can’t count on staying out of trouble? Plus, Brown is 35 years old and would likely demand the money of a much younger player due to his visibility. Brown might want to stick to partying with frats and promoting whatever “Catch the Energy” is.

Would Brown Improve The Steelers?

The Steelers dropped their opening game of the 2023 season in a 30-7 blowout against the 49ers. Despite the lack of scoring, second-year QB Kenny Pickett up 232 passing yards against one of the best defenses in the league. Those 232 yards were spread across nine targets, with offseason acquisition Allen Robinson II leading the way with 64 yards. However, a poor performance against a serious contender is not a great sample size.

While the Steelers aren’t stacked at wide receiver, especially with Diontae Johnson expected to miss a few weeks, Brown would still likely be a backup option given his age and time out of the league. With Johnson out temporarily, the team will likely turn to sophomore Calvin Austin or 2022 acquisition Miles Boykin to fill the vacant slot. Furthermore, Brown didn’t exactly leave Pittsburgh on the best of terms, with his reputation only getting worse since then. He shouldn’t expect a call from Omar Khan anytime soon.
