When Will Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s ‘Vultures 2’ Come Out On Spotify?

Normally, on New Music Friday, new albums will be available on DSPs like Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal at 9 pm PT or midnight ET. However’ Kanye West’s album releases are usually anything but normal. This Friday, March 8, he’s supposedly releasing Vultures 2, his joint album with Ty Dolla Sign, after turning the original Vultures into a three-album project last month (which was also when he revealed its new release date).

You might not want to plan on staying up to check out the new project, though. After all, Kanye hasn’t released a single project “on time” in the streaming era, and the rollout for Vultures has been anything but smooth. An initial release date in December was pushed back — without advance notice or much explanation from Mr. West — then pushed back again a few weeks later.

After announcing his three-part plans for the reimagined Vultures, Kanye did manage to meet his self-imposed deadline for Vultures 1, but it was released several hours after midnight to the chagrin of his most loyal fans. Even then, there were problems; on Spotify, the album is missing a song due to a copyright infringement complaint from the estate of Donna Summer, while the album isn’t even available on Apple Music after its distributor claimed West had pushed it through via a third party after his partnership offer was rejected.

That means Vultures 2 may not even hit any DSPs unless West and Ty have another trick up their sleeves. However, Vultures 1 managed to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 despite its issues, so don’t be surprised if FUGA changes its tune — after all, like the man said, cash rules everything.

Drake Becomes First Artist To Reach This Unbelievable Spotify Milestone

Drake is easily one of the biggest artists of all time. Whenever he drops a new project, you can be sure that he will sell over 500K units in the first week. Moreover, he typically always goes number one, unless he is going up against Taylor Swift. Overall, his streaming numbers are also massive. He is constantly breaking new records on platforms like Tidal, Spotify, and of course, Apple Music. With each passing day, it feels like Drizzy is breaking some sort of record, and that is not slowing down, at all.

For instance, according to HipHopDX, Drake just hit a milestone that has never been achieved in the history of Spotify. This week, Drizzy hit a total of 95 billion streams. Overall, these are unfathomable numbers. Very few artists have hit 1 billion streams as a whole. However, Drake has managed to do that 95 times over. This is thanks to numerous multi-billion-stream songs and some of the biggest albums in hip-hop. At this point, no one can stop Drizzy’s monumental trajectory.

Music lovers rush to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram each year to share their Wrapped results with friends (sorry, not sorry, Apple Music). That data-driven badge of honor lets their friends and family know which albums, songs, and genres they were obsessed with on Spotify. But the streaming giant could be looking to do the same for audiobook enthusiasts.

Spotify has announced a new subscription plan solely for audiobooks. Continue below for details about the new plan.

How To Get A Spotify Subscription For Audiobooks Only

In October 2023, the platform rolled out audiobooks at no additional cost to its Spotify premium subscribers. Now, for those unwilling or uninterested in the music side of the app, Spotify offers an “audiobooks only” option starting at $9.99. To sign up, users must visit the mobile application or web version here, then select the “Audiobooks Access” plan. However, it is important to note the limits of the plan. Read the restriction as listed on Spotify’s website:

“With the Audiobooks Access plan, you now get 15 hours of audiobook listening time every month from our audiobooks subscriber catalog. Unused listening hours expire at the end of each month and do not carry over. Your music listening experience will be on our free, ad-supported service. If you’re an existing Premium subscriber or a Premium plan member, you’ll need to cancel your current plan first before joining Audiobooks Access.”

Nicki Minaj Becomes The First Female Rapper To Hit 1 Billion Streams In 2024

Nicki Minaj is no stranger to commercial success and that doesn’t seem to be drying up any time soon. We’re two full months into 2024 and she’s just reached an impressive achievement already. Across all her credits on Spotify, she’s racked up 1 billion streams in just 2024 alone. That makes her the first female rapper to reach that achievement this year. Many of those streams likely come from her new album Pink Friday 2 which dropped late last year. Two tracks from the record, “FTCU” and “Everybody” with Lil Uzi Vert are still lingering on the Hot 100 this week.

Another big chunk of streams is likely coming from her single “Big Foot,” the only new music she’s actually released in 2024. The song was a diss track aimed at Megan Thee Stallion and a response to some lines from Meg’s new song “HISS.” “Big Foot” got off to an impressive start, debuting in the top 30 with less than a full week tracking. But in the following weeks, it fell off the charts completely and hasn’t returned. It currently sits at just under 11 million streams on Spotify with “HISS” rapidly approaching 50 million.

Nicki Minaj Hits 1 Billion Streams In 2024

Later this year, Nicki Minaj will take off on her Pink Friday 2 tour. The tour was already a pretty massive undertaking when it was first announced and she’s repeatedly added expanded dates to the roster. There’s plenty of fan excitement for the tour already. Nicki showed off just how many people were interested when she revealed that it was her highest selling tour to date before the pre sale had even wrapped up.

Some Nicki fans in London were disappointed that she chose to play Wireless Festival instead of another London stop. Nicki took to social media to explain her choice and hype up her set at the festival. What do you think of Nicki Minaj becoming the first rapper to hit 1 billion streams this year? Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s “GOOD (DON’T DIE)” Back On Spotify After Sample Issues

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s collaborative album Vultures has gone through a lot of hoops and obstacles to finally land on streaming services. Moreover, one of the biggest issues that the Yeezy-donning duo faced was that of sample clearances, and one of these cases relates to a legendary track. For those unaware, they used Donna Summer’s classic “I Feel Love” on their song “GOOD (DON’T DIE),” which the legendary artist’s estate claimed they didn’t clear properly. As such, the track disappeared off Spotify, but on Saturday (February 24), fans noticed that it’s back on the tracklist, although they still have a lot of questions.

For one, when you actually click on “GOOD (DON’T DIE)” on Vultures 1‘s tracklist, the cover art that appears in your Spotify player will appear with an odd, amateurish, digitally illustrated cover -– at least, as of writing this article. It’s unclear if this is just a glitch, an intentional choice, or a mistake to be rectified soon, but either way, it points to this song’s return as incomplete, or at least contested. Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign are currently in Europe for some listening events, so we don’t know how on top of all this they are. Considering how fickle these changes and developments may be… enjoy “GOOD (DON’T DIE)” while you can, Spotify users. It might disappear as soon as you read this.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign Bring Donna Summer Track Back To Spotify’s Vultures 1

Furthermore, another big issue with Vultures‘ release was its distribution. Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign were able to release it independently via Yeezy and with the help of a generous online distributor. They ended up making massive profits as a result, and fans lauded this as a massive success. Still, when looking at the antisemitic and far-right-tied reasons for this difficulty in securing a distributor, it did make fans lament this conflictive situation.

Regardless, fans are still bumping Vultures heavily, especially since we don’t really know what could happen with the album next. Yeat’s 2093 is expected to overtake its top spot on the Billboard charts this week, but all fans want is a consistent way to listen to the album. Let’s see what the future holds for this evolving and always scrutinized LP. For more news and the latest updates on Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign, stay logged into HNHH.

Drake Fans Debate If He Should Re-Release Old Albums After Taylor Swift Breaks His Spotify Record

After it was reported that Taylor Swift was now the most-streamed artist on Spotify by lead credits, Drake fans suggested that the rapper should follow suit and start re-releasing his old albums. Swift has seen a resurgence in popularity through her (Taylor’s Version) series, re-recording her old albums to control her masters.

Drake’s discography dates back to 2010 with Thank Me Later. The debut album went four times platinum and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. Of course, Drake only took off from there, with his sophomore album, Take Care, going eight times platinum and also peaking at No. 1. However, some Taylor fans pointed out that Drake can’t even outsell Swift’s re-releases with his new releases. “Drake’s NEW album sold 400K. Taylor’s re-recording sold 1.65M. They are not the same,” one person on X argued. What do you think – should Drake re-record his older albums? Let us know in the comments.

Johnny Manziel Apologizes To Drake

Meanwhile, Johnny Manziel apologized to Drake for “letting down” the rapper earlier this week. “Who believes in curses like that [The Drake Curse]? That guy’s the most positive energy, great aura. Maybe he picks wrong sometimes in the people, teams or whatever it is or his bets, but that’s life, right? There is no curse. That’s to each his own, you know? If I handle my business in the proper way, I make him proud, right? Our relationship changes; so like there’s a lot of people that I let down and I truly feel like him and LeBron [James] at a point in time were people that I really really let down, you know? At that point in time [2016], I was so selfish that I was dragging everybody that was tied to me through the mud,” Manziel told Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay.

Drake was one of Manziel’s biggest supporters as the Texas A&M QB looked toward the NFL. In fact, Drizzy went as far as to pen the track “Draft Day” in honor of Manziel. However, as we all know, Manziel simply wasn’t cut out for the NFL. After being drafted 22nd overall by the Browns, Manziel was out of the league two seasons later, being cut after the 2015 season.
