YG And Lil Wayne Team Up Again For “Miss My Dawgs” Single

Lil Wayne and YG released their song “Miss My Dawgs” earlier today (Dec. 9) and also shared a music video for the hot collaboration.

The pair previously worked together on YG’s “Blood Walk” and Lil Wayne’s “Trill N*gga,” and are now bringing their infectious sound to the masses once again. Speaking candidly on their new single, the rappers get real about losing friends, loyalty, and more.

In an Instagram post earlier this week, the Compton rapper gifted Lil Wayne a chain with YG’s 4Hunnid brand logo. “F**k yeah, n***a. Love, n***a,” Tunechi says in the video clip, offering him a hug.

Often crowned the GOAT of hip-hop, Lil Wayne has been praised by fans for his unique flow, hard-hitting lyrics, and lasting music legacy. Despite being in the game for over two decades, the Louisiana native continues to pride himself on his songwriting capabilities.

While interviewing with the I Am Athlete podcast earlier this year, the “Go DJ” rapper shared the process behind his songs, also admitting that he can spend weeks crafting lyrics.

“On god man, I can take seven weeks on two lines,” Lil Wayne shared in the sit-down.

“I’ve said so much that I don’t ever wanna say the same thing. You have to understand your audience,” he then added. “It was certain things that I could’ve said to my audience in ‘95 that you not tryna hear that right now. But, I can figure it out and that’s the beauty of it.”

You ain’t my dawg if we ain’t ever did no robberies

We had a cause, we was tryna hit the lottery

Young n*ggas ball, we was makin’ it out of poverty

We did our thang, we did our thang, we did it properly

Ryan Destiny Radiates On New Single “How Many”

You may know her from Star or Grown-ish, but Ryan Destiny has been pursuing her music career since she was a pre-teen. The actress has proven to be a multi-hyphenate force in the industry, but before lighting up the small screen, she signed record deals and was a part of a girl group. Now, Ryan returns with an addition to your playlist this New Music Friday as she delivers her fresh single, “How Many.”

The track tells a tale that far too many are familiar with: a person you thought would stay loyal instead decides to move a little funny. Ahead of the arrival of “How Many,” Ryan chopped it up with us for our upcoming 12 Days of Christmas series and detailed the inspiration behind the record.

“I worked on this record with a writer named [Rook Monroe] and a producer duo named Trackside,” she exclusively told HNHH. “And I actually recorded this back in 2018, which is so crazy because it’s just so insane how the process goes. But yeah, I think we just wanted something to feel very authentic and like I was telling a story. I think that’s just what it feels like.”

“Those are some of my favorite—personally my favorite, R&B songs,” Ryan also added. “When it literally just feels like you’re telling a story of something that just happened to them. That’s how I wanted it to feel, and unfortunately, with a topic like this, it is very relatable [laughs] with a lot of women.”

“I really wanted to touch on that with a little bit of my own experiences with certain men and people that kinda just play you when you wanna just say, ‘I’m not the one.’”

I thought we should talk this out
But there’s not much left to talk about
I seen you with someone
But that someone’s not this someone
Who was I to think you’d come around

Moneybagg Yo Comes Through With New Single “Quickie”

Moneybagg Yo’s had fans waiting all year long for a new body of work. Up until 2021, we’ve known Bagg to have a prolific output with numerous projects under his belt per year. However, A Gangster’s Pain marked a new era in Bagg’s career, one where his presence is equally felt across top 40 radio as it is in the strip clubs and the streets. So, fans are undoubtedly wondering when we could expect his net body of work.

It seems unlikely that Bagg will come through with a last-minute buzzer beater before 2022 concludes. However, he’s not leaving us empty handed. This afternoon, he released, “Quickie,” a woozy love ballad that finds him leaving his stamp on a classic beat. Over a sample of Lamont Dozier’s “Prelude,” famously used on Outkast’s “Jazzy Belle” and Lil Wayne’s “Pussy Money Weed,” Bagg’s wordplay and lax delivery captures sexual tension between lovers that’s similarly erotic and melancholic. “Quickie” is an anthem that fans of Bagg have been waiting for. It shows his ability to modernize iconic samples from the past and transform them into his own, similar to “Wockesha.”

Though the musical output became scarce throughout the year, Moneybagg Yo still had a triumphant 2022. His presence on CMG’s Gangsta Art compilation this year found his voice echoing across the 2022 NBA Finals with “Big League.” At the same time, he’s clearly levelled up on as an entrepreneur, expanding the BreadGangg team as artists like Big30 and Finesse2Tymes flourish.

There’s no telling when we could expect Moneybagg Yo’s next album. Hopefully, the release of “Quickie” signals that he’ll be coming through with something special in 2023.

We relate on different levels, we got compatible signs

How the fuck I switch addictions, feelin’ like I need it
I ain’t gon’ lie, that pussy better when her and her n***a beefin’

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Drops “Water (Drowning Pt. 2)” With Kodak Black

Years after their hit 2017 collab “Drowning,” A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Kodak Black are back at it again with “Water (Drowning Pt. 2).” The new single dropped earlier today (Dec. 6), on the Hoodie SZN rapper’s 27th birthday.

The three-minute track features a heavy bass with both rappers offering fans a unique flow and original lyrics.

“Water (Drowning Pt. 2)” will be featured on A Boogie’s upcoming album ME VS MYSELF, which is set to drop this Friday, December 9. Also listed on the project are G Herbo, Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch, H.E.R., and Tory Lanez.

ME VS MYSELF will serve as the New York rapper’s first project since releasing B4 AVA last year, which also featured Lil Durk.

Meanwhile, A Boogie is also gearing up for his upcoming album tour and is scheduled to perform at venues across the globe starting in February 2023. Stops will include Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angles, Toronto, and the United Kingdom.

Following the tour tickets being released for purchase last week, over half of the rapper’s concerts have already been sold out. Similarly, his December 16 show at New York’s Appolo Theatre sold out in less than 10 minutes, proving just how big of a fanbase A Boogie has earned.

Last year, he opened up to Billboard about his growing success and the process behind choosing songs for his projects, saying, “Every year, it’s like we’re climbing up more and more. You have a different anticipation, and that anticipation turns into my highlights. Every time I drop an album, the anticipation grows even more.”

“I’m not even talking about the quantity, I’m talking about the quality,” A Boogie continued. “I don’t even pay no mind to how many songs I can put on a tape. It’s all about what songs matches the [vibes] and what songs sound good together for a project in total. That’s where I’m at right now. I’m just trying to make sure everything sounds legit when I throw that s**t out.”
