Larry June is an artist you can always go to for the lowkey summer night cuts that make you want to roll up and chill. What is even better is that he always has those kinds of tracks in the vault to release at the perfect time. Today is one of those days, as Larry June is back with a wavy and vibey single, “Dreams”. This is the California multi-hyphenate’s latest release of 2024, and it follows up on a song from less than a month ago. That May 7 offering was “Meet Me In Napa”, which heard him croon over a minimal beat.

Then, just a month before that, Larry June put out “Imported Couches”, which featured another measured performance. It is clear that the veteran is aiming for a certain aesthetic going forward this year. This consistent approach to these songs, including “Dreams”, could mean that a new album is in the works. The timing certainly makes sense, as Mr. June is not one to lay back and not drop an album for an extended period.

2023 was another example of that, as he came through with two projects in an eight-month span. The first of which, The Great Escape, was collaboration with the equally prolific Uncle Al, aka The Alchemist. Fast forward from March 31, 2023, to November 10, 2023, we would receive The Night Shift. That was also a dual effort, as a new producer and frequent collaborator, Cardo, would enter the studio. Chicken P Leaves Off Single “Low Life Rich N****”

Chicken P is one of the leading voices in the now popular Milwaukee rap scene. The largest city in the state of Wisconsin has really grown lately due to the uniqueness of its sound. We have been focusing on Mr. P, as well as names like Myaap and JP over the last few months and with each release, fans are beginning to pay more and more attention. The Milwaukee lowend style is essentially heavy on the rapid-fire snares and bass and that is exactly what kind of beat Chicken P is bringing on “Low Life Rich N****”. This single is here not too long after his recent projects.

The six-year veteran just dropped off Hardest N**** Livin’ back in May, and BussaBrick Vol.3 :ReallyRich4eva (Deluxe). On “Low Life Rich N****”, raps about his rise to fame and wealth all while still being tied to the streets. The beat slaps, as the elements of a nasty piano loop, bells, and unrelenting snares. With the competition so fierce in this Midwestern city, Chicken P has to work extra hard if he wants to be at the top of the heap.

Juelz Santana Drops The Perfect Pre-Game Hype Song With “Score”

Dipset (The Diplomats) affiliate Juelz Santana has been repping the blue-collar city of Harlem, New York with much pride. Essentially a living legend at this point in his career, the 42-year-old is not dropping as much as he used to. In fact, the last new single we received from the MC was back in October of last year. “Black Opps” with Yung Tripp and Cassidy was the release, but he was a feature on it. The last time he dropped a solo track was “Whitney” back in September 2022.

Then, if you want to look at when he dropped an album, you will have to go even further back in time. In 2020, Juelz released #FREESANTANA, a tight, ten-song record with a stacked guest list. Dave East, Jim Jones, 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, Belly, Jeremih, and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie assisted him greatly. But after such a long absence how would the MC come back? Well, Juelz Santana is looking to get with the times with “Score”.

03 Greedo Delivers His Signature Crooning On “Fine China”

Watts, California rapper and singer 03 Greedo definitely deserves more respect than he is already receiving. Some might find his rap style sleepy or too inaudible at times. However, to us, he gives off early Young Thug vibes. When Thugger was coming up in the early 2010s, at lot hip-hop heads were not taking a liking to his then unorthodox approach. However, over the course of his career, he is become of the most influential figures of the modern era. Greedo will probably never get the same love as the Georgia native. But he is definitely a pioneer of the rapping/singing delivery in our eyes. Helping the veteran is his consistency, as he always has some project or single ready to go.

Just several hours ago, 03 Greedo released another loosie to Soundcloud and YouTube called “Fine China”, continuing his hot streak. His versatile style has lent his talents to some fire collaborations this year. He most recently and surprisingly appeared on Mach-Hommy’s latest record #RICHAXXHAITIAN on the title song and it is a summer bop. Additionally, he got into his more aggressive bag on Maxo Kream’s single “R.I.C.O”.

Lucky Daye Is Letting His Walls All The Way Down On “Soft”

Lucky Daye, former American Idol contestant and RCA Records signee, is back with a brand-new single “Soft”. This is the New Orleans, Louisiana native’s third offering from his forthcoming third studio record, Algorithm. It will be his first project since 2022’s Candydrip, a record that featured the likes of Lil Durk, Smino, and Chiiild. Of course, the solo tracks such as “Over” and “Deserve” were standouts. So far, Lucky Daye has impressed fans with “HERicane” and “That’s You”, and “Soft” seems to be on the path of being another hit.

On this song, Lucky is singing about a woman that he is so infatuated with. The attraction is so strong in fact that he is becoming his most vulnerable self. Lucky Daye spoke with RCA about what “Soft” means to him. “‘Soft’ is about how love can come over a person and make them feel vulnerable, and whilst it’s unexpected, it’s also okay to embrace it”.

He continues, “To be comfortable doing the things society labels “soft” like cuddling, PDA, hugging and kissing – shamelessly. It’s about a lover putting a spell on you but that spell is in fact love itself”. The 18-year-old Atlantic Records signee blew up on social media with some hot singles, and since then all he has done is level up. On top of tracks like “Law & Order”, “Back Flippin”, and “Change My Wayz”, his resume is quite impressive. The man is a 2023 XXL Freshman and he will be touring with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie fairly soon for his Better Off Alone tour.

Because of all of these accomplishments, Luh Tyler has reason to celebrate his W’s on “Young N****”. This is the latest offering and follow up to March’s “Bad B****”. On this cut, the raspy-voiced MC is counting up all of his successes, which includes women, money, luxuries, and the most important, being able to help out his family. “I been puttin’ in that work, b****, I been droppin’ these hits (Droppin’ these hits)

Loe Shimmy is a living embodiment of the Florida rap scene. He has the synonymous raspy/croaky delivery, and he also bust out the melodies when required. Well, Loe Shimmy is doing just that on this latest single, “All My Love”. This is the Pompano Beach resident’s newest offering, and it supersedes his May 10 release, “Zuper”. That single featured another fellow Floridian, Wizz Havinn. But this time, Loe (L.O.E. Shimmy) is flying solo, which makes a lot of sense in this case.

“All My Love” features the 25-year-old rapper and singer in a vulnerable position, as he gets candid about his loneliness. He feels there are a lot of people that are out on him. Those include friends, women, and even his family. “Love my baby mama / But she hate me / What’s that all about? / Momma acting different“.

For Loe, both of these 2024 tracks could be the start of a new album rollout. Another one that could be considered as a potential promo cut is “Miami”, which dropped back in the middle of February. Bizarre Of D12 Begs The Question On New Single: “Who Got A?”

Even though the legendary Detroit rap posse D12 is not as tight as they used to be, members of the group are still doing their thing. One of them is Bizarre, who claimed to be departed from the crew back in 2012, according to HipHopDX. “Creative differences” were the deciding factor for the then 35-year-old. However, the now 47-year-old revealed that he was back with his boys in 2014. Furthermore, just last year, they went on a short six-day tour in the UK in December, according to NME. It was organized to commemorate their sophomore, and final album as a group D12 World. There were talks of a third album in that 2014 DX interview, but things never materialized.

The last “album” they put out was a deluxe of their debut album Devils Night in 2021. But Bizarre did state that he would always have some sort of ties to D12. “D12 is always gonna be attached to my name. I’m a founding member of D12. It’s not a game. It’s something that’s a life commitment.”

While a collective LP might not be coming ever again, Bizarre might be working on a solo tape. Recently, the grimy rapper dropped a single “Who got a [problem]?” with production from fellow D-Town native Foul Mouth. The track is dark, cold and hilarious, with the clear standout bar being, “Two glocks, I call ’em Gweek and Gwiddy / ‘Cause they a couple, like Meek and Diddy (Ha-ha)“. FLO Channel Destiny’s Child On “Caught Up”

Burgeoning London R&B trio, FLO, are making waves by reviving the late 90s and 2000s eras of the genre. While it may come across as lazy to some, we can see and hear that they have more to offer than just hitting us in the nostalgia bone. They have a dynamic no-nonsense attitude about them and that is especially true on their newest single “Caught Up.” Partially produced by MNEK of Zara Larsson’s “Never Forget You” fame, these ladies are making it clear that they are not going to fight for a man that really does not want them back.

In a chat with THE LINE of BEST FIT, FLO explained these thoughts very clearly. “It’s very simple, we are not going to lose ourselves going crazy over a guy, if you get caught up it’s a simple bye bye. We know our worth and ‘Caught Up’ is a friendly reminder that we are not to be played with.” On this effort, we can hear a bit of Destiny’s Child coming through, especially in the instrumental and harmonizing vocal bits.

However, FLO and the song’s other producers (Jay Versace and Pop Wansel) do help bring a modern feel, especially with the punchy drums. For the talented trifecta, this follows up their most popular song to date, “Walk Like This.” In just the two months that it has been out, it has accumulated over nine million streams. Their catalog is small, but it is filled with consistency, as well as a co-sign from Missy Elliott on “Fly Girl.” Project wise, they only have two EPs to their name, 3 of Us and The Lead. But hopefully, these 2024 releases will lead to an official debut album.
